It'd been weeks of me just hanging out in this damned room. The guy showed up every day. He'd talk to me but I was growing tired of this.
I walked around the room and frowned when the door opened. I glared at the man from earlier and he looked at me with soft eyes that only annoyed me.
"What the fuck do you want?" I spat and looked around for something. Sadly I could only find the tv remote.
"Katlyn, please let me explain." He said and I narrowed my eyes at his enticing voice.
"Who are you really? Because I just want to go home." I asked and he frowned softly before sighing.
"I'm your mate." He said and I scoffed.
"Preposterous, I'm not mates with a mutt." I spat and he tilted his head.
"You are. I'm your mate. Alpha of this pack. You're Luna... you're my wife. We got married. We have a son. Don't you remember?" The man said sounding desperate and I couldn't help a smirk.
Great, I'm in a room with a lunatic werewolf.
"Look bro? Wrong girl. I don't have a kid or a mate. I'm a Hunter. Now where are my weapons so I can get out of here, I may even spare your life if you help me out." I said and stared at him waiting for an answer.
He only growled, "You're not going anywhere. I lost you... I'm not going to again." He said started toward me. I held out the remote then threw it at him smirking in satisfaction when it hit his head.
"Really?" He said pausing to rub his temple.
"Back up man." I said and he looked at me and gave me a charming smirk.
"You sure you want me to?" He said stepping towards me and my heart began to pound.
"Because I know if it wasn't for your damn parents you'd be jumping me right now." He was getting closer and I didn't know what to do. A Hunter versus an Alpha unarmed? I had no chance.
"We'd be on that bed making love." He growled as he closed the gap between us and it was then I realized I'd backed into the wall. The damned wall.
"Uh I think you're mistaken." I said and the man growled.
"No. They blinded you baby. Think. Please remember me. I'm your Clayton." The man said softly and swooped down to rip my throat out...
Oh wait no... he just kissed my neck.
That name repeated in my head and it did sound familiar, I think. His lips felt awfully good. I pushed him away.
"Don't kiss me." I spat and he growled.
"You don't understand what it's been like. Living without you... it hurt. Especially with our son here. He's six now, when he first called me 'Dada,' I had to leave the room... you should've been there. Baby please you gotta remember something." The man-Clayton whimpered and fell to my feet kneeling. A weird pain blossomed in my chest.
"Clayton I can't... I'm sorry? But I can't. I have no idea what you're talking about and I need to get home." I said going to step around him but he grabbed my wrists and I tensed at the dull tingles.
"You are home." He growled softly. I tried to shake out of his hold but he only pulled me down to him.
"I love you." Clayton groaned and cupped my cheeks. Tears brimmed my eyes and I don't know why.
I've heard that before.
"Clayton..." I breathed and he growled.
"You told me what that bastard did to you in that van when you were fourteen." He growled out and my whole body tensed. My hands instantly started shaking and I hugged myself as my eyes squeezed shut.
"How he-he raped you." Clayton said in a broken yet angry voice. I let out a shuddering sigh as I remembered that nightmarish day.
"I wish I could've been there to protect you, but I wasn't. I should've been there for you so many times, but I wasn't... and it kills me." Clayton said in a shaking voice.
I felt his hand lay on my shoulder and I wrenched away from the contact. I hurried away from him and put out my hands in frustration and turmoil. I turned to him and shook my head.
No one knew about that... maybe he isn't lying... I don't care. I'm leaving. I glanced at the door.
"Leave me alone man. Can I go now?" I asked and my head started pounding. I winced and rubbed my temples.
"No. You're not leaving!" Clayton snarled losing his temper and the pain in my head increased. I groaned and turned away from him. I squeezed my eyes shut.
"Katy?" I heard Clayton say after a while and I felt his hands grab my waist and turn me toward him. His body brushed mine and I couldn't help but lean closer. He felt so warm.
"Why?" I breathed.
"Why what?" He said softly and I felt his breath hitch as I laid my head on his chest. I can't explain why I did it, it was more of a need almost. He slowly wrapped his arms around me.
"Why'd you kill my parents?" I asked. It was obvious he'd done it. That smell of blood had to have been theirs.
"They took you from me and changed you... They deserved their fate." Clayton growled softly not denying it at all.
"Changed me?" I questioned and Clayton pulled me flush against him. He was silent for a while so I asked a simple question, "What happened to Jaxon, I mean did y'all see him?" At the mention of my former boyfriend's name Clayton growled darkly.
"Dead." Was all he said.
"Did you-" I started and his growl cut me off.
"No. The beta." Clayton said and attempted to pull me closer which was impossible because I was already smushed against him.
"You were-are-my mate. A Luna. A wolf. We ran this pack. Even Dalton's h-" he began and I pulled away.
"Dalton's here?" I asked and Clayton nodded. I bit my lip softly and looked at my feet.
"He's mates with some man?" I inquired.
"Yes, our beta-" he began.
"Drew." I finished without realizing. We both paused. My mouth opened and shut like a fish as I tried to think of an explanation. Clayton pulled away a little.
"Katy? You remember?" He said and a pounding headache hit me again and I shrugged as I tried to fight through the pain.
"It just popped in there." I said simply pointing to my head.
"I saw things when you kissed me..." I grumbled and Clayton tightened his grip around my waist.
"What things?" He said softly. I shrugged.
"I don't know just blurry images." I said and the alpha smirked. I scowled at him suspiciously.
"Can I try something?" He asked and I tilted my head to the side in questioning. Before I could object he leaned down and his lips pressed against my neck. I felt my breath hitch as he kissed the sensitive skin and my stomach churned.
"What are you-" My question was cut off by my own gasp as Clayton nipped at my neck and a weird feeling crept over me. My body tingled with sparks and I held back a moan as he growled and pulled me roughly against him.
"I. Love. You." He growled affectionately into my neck before I felt a sharp pain and I let out a cry that was abruptly cut off by his lips.
Fireworks went off inside of me and the pain in my brain vanished; suddenly everything came rushing back in a fury of images and voices.
My heart swelled with longing and I threw my arms around his neck as a frustrated lovers growl rumbled in my chest.
Firestorm... I said in happiness for my long gone wolf.
It's good to be back Katlyn. She said and howled in triumph.
"I love you too." I moaned and Clayton pulled away. He looked at me with hopeful eyes and mine welled with tears.
"What?" He whispered. I grabbed his shirt collar and pulled him closer.
"Idiot." I breathed and crashed my lips against his again.
