CHAPTER 60 - THE GENDER REVEAL
The clinic is now under Nathalia's care while Courtney is taking a break from her work. Courtney was glad that her Secretary is very hands-on in handling the work and she deserves a raise for that. Courtney is now on her fifth month and it was the time for another Doctor’s appointment that Ben never dared to miss. Most of the times he wakes up early and made sure that Courtney’s breakfast were prepared. If you think that Courtney surpassed her cravings for the proscuitto you got it all wrong because she is still so into that cravings.
“I’m so excited to know about our baby’s genders.” Ben guides his fiancée to the front seat.
“Same here hun, what do you think it would be?” Courtney asked as she slides herself.
“Two boys.” He answered without any pause.
Last month when they had their prenatal check-up, they were surprised to discover that we are having twins just like her cousin Zac who got one girl and a boy. Courtney was over the moon when she found out and even Doctor Sartori was shocked since it took them four months before the other baby shows up. The Physician explained that it happens for twins if the baby is super stealth. In other words, the baby parked themselves behind their sibling, ducked into one of your uterus’ nooks and crannies, or slipped just out of view of the ultrasound during the exam.
“You are really obsessed with that gender from the beginning, what if they are both girls?” Courtney can only laugh on her fiancé reaction.
“Then I have to get myself a gun.” Ben seriously stated.
“What do you need the gun for?” She raised an eyebrow.
“To chase the guys away you never know what their generation will be.” He started the car’s engine.
“Exactly you wouldn’t know what it will be so leave the gun out of it and just focus on helping me raised them.” She pointed out.
“Of course I will but we can also enroll them to martial arts class as early as 5 years old so they already know how to defend themselves from guys.” His fiancé was very determined on this plan.
“You’re unbelievably crazy hun.” Courtney softly laughed while shaking her head.
All thought the car ride, Courtney silently prayed that their babies will be boys to avoid that type of scenario. She would like to get one of each but if that will the case for Ben, she would rather like to have boys just to put his fiancé on the safe side. She can only imagine what kind of a father he will be because Courtney can attest how protective Ben is. They reached the hospital in twenty minutes and the ultrasound only took them ten minutes before the twin’s gender was revealed.
“Congratulations! Its confirmed, Baby A is boy, and Baby B is… boy too.” Doctor Sartori happily announced.
“Yes! I knew t!” Ben yelled while throwing punches in the air.
“Looks like your husband will turn your place into a football stadium.” The Doctor joked.
“Believe me I would rather get the stadium than be in prison baling him out for chasing guys with a gun just because he got a daughter.” Courtney joined in while laughing.
“That will be a disaster.” The friendly Doctor says.
“Can you print out four copies of these?” Ben went to the screen while facing Doctor Sartori and Courtney.
“Four? Why do you need so many copies?” The two women asked in disbelief.
“Oh, I promised to give one to my mother, then to Courtney’s parents, of course to our friends, and the last copy will be for us.” He gestured his finger in counting manner.
“All right, I’ll print them out and book your next appointment.” The Doctor taped few button on the screen and images started to print.
After getting the copies and additional prescription for Courtney she was advised to take more fluids and continue eating a healthy meal to get the proper nutrients for the babies. They thanked her and drove to the shopping mall to buy additional furniture and few feeding tools that they might come in handy when needed. Ben never thought there are a lot of things that they need to consider when buying for twin especially the sizes and how safe it is to use. They instructed the delivery to have the items shipped the same day since Courtney wanted the nursery room be done before Christmas.
“Finally we can get home and I can decorate the room.” Courtney is now seating on the front seat while Ben is helping her with the seatbelt.
“We have been in the shopping for four hours aren’t you tired yet?” He made sure his fiancée is comfortable in her sitting position.
“I’m okay it’s just my feet is sore.” Courtney complained.
“Then let’s decorate the nursery tomorrow so you can rest since I can help you out with everything.” Ben offered.
“Isn’t the day after tomorrow will be the launching of Café Vergnano mugs for Christmas edition?” Courtney remembered it.
“Yeah.” He confirmed with a nod.
“Then you have to be there to finalize the order of the events don’t worry about the decoration because Nic-Nic and Nat will be here to help me out.” She informed him as they exit the parking lot.
“Eric called me and said everything was already taken care of so there is no need for me to go there tomorrow.” Ben waited for the green light.
“Well if that’s the case we can finish the nursery in time before the launching on Friday, I’m excited to see it.” Courtney is looking forward for the Café’s mug designs.
“Come to think of it, it was all your idea in the first place so I owe you that. You and our boys have been my inspiration to do that, I love you my soon to be Mrs. Venoso.” He looked at his radiant fiancée and kissed her hand.
“I love you too Mr. Venoso, my soon to be husband.” Courtney kissed his hand too.
As soon as they got home Ben massaged Courtney’s feet since she claimed it was so sore and she can’t see it with her protruding belly. He also helped his fiancé to change in his t-shirts since Courtney refused to wear maternity dress at home because it’s too tight for her.
