Chapter 61
Part 61
..
Veer was scared for his wife, who went to a party with her friends. He didn't stop her, knowing how much she loved her freedom, and he was not the type of husband who would deny her wants, but now there was a weird feeling settling inside of him. He was scared; he didn't know the reason; Samir was sulking beside him, watching some weird ass movie. "That girl is so hot," Samir commented, seeing the new heroine who danced on the new item number, while Veer rolled his eyes at the taste of his friend; oh, he so wanted to kick Samir out of his home, but he didn't.Finally, after debating with his heart and mind, he grabbed the phone from his side table and dialled Samaira's number, but she didn't pick up, which further increased his anxiety. Calming himself, he dropped her a message.TOBaby I know you might've been drunk by now, so don't forget to drop me a message; otherwise, I will call Shraddha and Puja.An hour laterStill, he didn't get a reply from her; heck, she didn't even see his message, much to his displeasure. The way he was getting all worked up from her, he knew something bad was going to happen; his conscience was alerting him. He chanted in his mind, "Calm down, calm down."--------------------------------Puja was standing outside the club with her husband who came to pick her up as it was way too late but others were still partying. She said goodbye to everyone except Samaira as she was not around and Puja was still trying to call Samaira. Just then her husband uttered out, "Is that Samaira?" Puja's eyes snapped at the direction as she saw Samaira rushing out of the club fumbling with every step she took as she was drunk, and top of that she was rubbing her face, which Pu"Careful Samaira," she said, as soon as she felt it was Puja. She hugged her tight as if her life depended on it. "You alright, Baccha (baby)?" Puja asked, hugging her back. "I am fine. Can you please drop me off at home?" After stuttering a bit, she said it clearly, though her voice slurred a bit."Of course I will, get in the car," Puja said, opening the backseat door for her. Samaira sat inside, leaning her head back, breathing heavily, and rubbing her palms. Puja asked her again, and she answered the same, that nothing was wrong with hers. Her husband started the car taking a route to Samaira's apartment. Puja got a call from Veer and turned her face towards the backseat to find Samaira already passed out. She sighed and picked up the call, "Yeah Veer, yeah, she is with me and I'll be dropping her off at home in a few minutes,... we are on our way,... yeah, she passed out actually,. Veer was standing outside the building, waiting for Puja's car to arrive."Finally huff," Veer sighed out, spotting Puja's car. "Thank you so much," he said, with relief washing over him when he saw his chota packet. He picked her up in his arms and went inside the building after bidding them bye.Veer walked in and spotted Samir who had already slept on the living room couch. He took his wife inside the room and made her lay down on the couch. He opened her heels and discarded her leather jacket, but something caught his attention: the redness on her both arms, the biting mark on her neck, and even the scratches also the mark on her neck, which made him realise Samaira was assaulted. "What the fuck?" he said, his eyes welling up. He turned, ready to leave the room and call her friends to ask how all this happened, when he felt a soft tug on his wrist"Don't call them Veer; it's not their mistake." Samaira's slurred voice reached his ears, and he immediately cupped her cheeks and pleaded, "Baby, how did all this happen? Please tell me," but she had passed out again, leaving him in a mess of questions and confusions.Veer changed her outfit and applied ointment on her marks with his eyes shedding tears for his love, and at this moment he felt so helpless because if he were Veer Singhania now, he would've found out who was behind all this with his sources and money. He didn't sleep the whole night because he was busy gazing at her.Veer's pov Who did all this to her? What had happened last night—shit, it was my mistake. I shouldn't have let her go. Someone assaulted my Samaira, someone tried to harm her, how would I face her now? I promised her that I would not let anything happen to her, but I failed, I failed drastically. Leaning down, I placed a kiss on her cheek before hugging her close to me, and she snuggled even closer to me. Closing my eyes, I let the tears fall freely. "Ve--veer," I felt her stirring in sleep and calling my name, and immediately pulled back. "Yes, baby, I am here only." She sat up and let out a wince, holding her head and saying, "Aah, my head." Grabbing the glass of lemonade, I passed it to her, "have it, you will be fine," I advised. She gulped it down, and while I stared at her, trying to read her expression, her hands started shaking and her face paled. She put the glass down and pounced on me, "Veer," she cried, hugging me tight,"HE tried to hug me a bit too hard," she couldn't complete her sentence due to her continuous sobbing."Sssh, Baccha, it's okay. Calm down and breathe, okay?" "We'll talk later." I didn't want to force her to utter everything I knew she was traumatized.___________________"You smell good," Samaira felt a body pressing tight against her, caging her on both sides, which made her horrified. "Ughh, leave," her voice slurred as she tried to push him, but she couldn't because the alcohol in her system had already made her too weak to fight back. She couldn't even see the face of the attacker because it was dark. She felt a pair of lips working on her neck and fingers digging into her waist; she tried to scream, but the attacker placed his palm on her lips to muffle her voice. Her eyes welled up with the assaults; she wanted to fight but couldn't, and she never felt so helpless. And in that moment, she regretted coming to the party and regretted drinking alcohol. Oh, how she wanted her saviour Veer to be there to help her out of this situation, but he wasn't there."It was all my mistake," she blamed herself as she slurred out again. "Please leave me alone," she said, as the sudden bite on her neck brought more tears to her eyes and one palm groped her breasts, making her feel disgusted."You are so fucking sexy." She was being molested; someone was touching her without her consent, and when she felt a hand on her thigh making its way inside her pants, her senses alerted her. No, she had to do something; she had to save her dignity. She tried to push him again but failed, and then her knee met his point where the sun didn't shine. She heard the man wince and move back, and in a second he pounced on her again, not even giving her a chance to escape "You Fucking Bitch." His palm closed around her throat, choking the life out of her.She coughed, trying her will to push him. Samaira was like 90% sure that she wouldn't be able to see Veer again."Leave her what the hell, killing her isn't in the plan," she heard a voice that sounded robotic as her drunk mind wasn't able to process the owner of the voice, but one thing she understood was that it was a trap and that there was a third person present in the washroom with her and the attacker. The person who planned all thisWhen she felt the hold loosen, she slumped down on the floor, coughing up loudly and trying to catch some breath. The lights switched on, but there was no one there. She got up, grabbed her phone and bag, and ran out. Fumbling with the steps, she made her way out of the club and luckily found Puja outside, which she was thankful for.At least she wasn't raped and murdered.Flashback end.."Ouch, that hurts," she hissed when Veer applied the ointment to her marks. She told him everything, and when Veer saw her breaking down, that was such a painful sight for him to see."You know I am so proud of you that you fought back," he whispered while Samaira fiddled with her fingers; she neither reacted nor replied as if she were lost somewhere."Stop lying, Veer," she said out loud, "I know I've disappointed you enough with the stunt I did last night." She chuckled dryly; there wasn't an ounce of humour present there. She was torn and crumbled."I am not lying, I am proud of you that you tried to fight back," she said, staring at him for a few seconds before creeping up to him. She held his arm and placed it on her shoulder, her head resting on his chest."You will leave me, right?" "I am such a brat, Veer, and he tries to make me dirty," she babbled in her whispering tone..."Seriously? You think this low of me? that I would leave you for this? How could you think that? "I don't have anyone accept you, and you are home, and there is no way I'll be leaving my home and my peace," he stated, drawing circles at her back in a soothing manner."I am so sorry," she cried out. "Hey, hey, why are you crying?" He asked in haste, cupping her cheeks."I don't know, I feel like crying," she mumbled and hugged him, nestling her face on his neck. "It's ok to cry, and you know what makes skin more glowing?" he tried to joke to lighten up her mood, but from inside he wanted to sit somewhere alone and cry out.He couldn't see his love like that. It was just yesterday that she was happy, and today it was the opposite; she was crying from the morning on, though he somehow fed her breakfast. Samir got to know everything that Veer shared with him in the morning, and now Veer had given him a task that he went to complete."That was such a lame joke and pathetic way to make me smile," she said against his neck, though Veer knew she was smiling in the midst of her broken state."But it's still making you smile, oh, I am so proud of myself," he praised himself, and she pulled back, giving him a look."Stop now" he wiped her tears making her sigh.."Veer, can you please call dad now?" I need to tell him everything; I can't sit here and cry about the things that happened last night; and now she was back in the action and looking like Veer's tigress."I've already called him; he will be here anytime." He had already called him in urgent need.As the uneasy feeling settled inside him, she told him to call her dad to tell him everything and ask for his help.Shouldn't he be the one to help her and be her saviour? But he wasn't right? After all, he was such a loser, and he had nothing left in him to help her with.Oh Veer, you failed, literally. His inner voice mocked._________________
