The MISSION

Elena's POV:

As I walked into Antonio's office, my eyes locked with his. My heart thumped faster than I expected. I didn't even know how much I'd missed him until now. Jessie and I walked towards his desk and stopped opposite him.

"We can't just allow you guys to go on the mission without actually having enough information." He clicked his computer. "He tried to run away and hide his location but I tracked his number down and realized he was in the "Crimson" group. I had to admit he was really good at hiding, but I could have thought about his number sooner. You girls would also have to rescue his captive. And you have to be sharp about it before Augusta gets to him. That bitch has got a lot of tricks up her sleeves."

I gulped when I realized I'd be competing with Augusta. She combats like a psycho.

"Why do we need the man's captive?" Jessie had gotten serious now.

"He has a lot of information with him that I need."

"Okay, so what's the information now?"

"In previous balls, the CCTV camera never caught him amongst other mafias but in a private room doing a lot of things. I believe he has a lot of secrets and that's why Derek is also after him. His name is George Hernandez, mixed blood who has a taste for chubby women." With the last statement, they all turned to me. I nearly rolled my eyes, because it implied I was the one doing the approaching. "I'm sure your training will come in handy this time. He's not as smart as he thinks he is, he's always guarded and he loves to gamble. You can only take him down in his time of weakness."

Speaking of weakness, he turned the screen of his computer towards us and showed us the architecture of the building. Then pointed to the room we were all meant to lure George into.

"To every secret room, there will always be a secret passage. But this one isn't ancient like what we see in movies. It only requires a password."

"Yeah, so what's the password?"

"It's your name," Leo said to Jessie and she blushed. "But make sure the first and last letters of your name are in capitals. Then leave an alphabet 3 between 's' and 'i'." He explained.

"Got it," Jessie responded. "I've dealt with so many men like this," Jessie stated as she turned to me. "All you need to do is act innocent. Then lure him in before stabbing him in the chest."

"Wait, I have to kill him?"

"Leave that to me. I'll be in one of the secret rooms cause I know the building quite well. All you need to do is lure him to me."

"Then how would I get his puppet?"

"He moves around with him. I'll leave Jessie to do the work." Antonio said and Jessie looked excited. I was both excited and terrified. The last time I tried to beat a man, he caught my intentions and nearly got me under his mercy.

"You need to stop doubting yourself and just go for it. The pay is awesome too." Leo is convinced. But for me, it really wasn't about the pay, I had more than enough from Antonio already, but at the same time, I was just... terrified.

Mafias were merciless. One slip and I'd be dead.

"I'll shoot him in the head before he can even think of hurting you." As if reading my mind, Antonio interrupted my thoughts. "You have it in you, you just have to bring that person out. You used it on me once and it worked." He said and truly Antonio wasn't easily moved by women so I guess...

"Your dresses are prepared already," Leo said and my eyes widened like saucers. I was yet to wear all the dresses in my closet and here I am getting another one. "You two are going to be dressed the way Antonio and I want." He moved and took the two packages lying on the couch and gave them to us. "The ball will start in six hours. I think it's better if we got there on time."

Jessie and I glanced at each other before leaving the room.

"How were you able to deal with Augusta the last time?"

"She has a lot of tricks up her sleeves I must admit, but at the same time, knowing those tricks can help you get through to her. Then you'll realize she's good, but you're better." Jessie said. Not that it convinced me because Jessie was a master at combatting. While I, even though I was good, still didn't think I was as good as Augusta. She had years of experience. I was short of experience.

"Come on, I'm sure you'll do good."

"Do you know this man though?" I asked her.

"Since I was twenty. I was fortunate that Leo was really good with computers, so he tracked the man's details and that led to a building near the Lion's Company, which was also a mafia company, but nobody knew that. It was owned by one of Leo's allies. It appeared that they were rivals. George's company 'was' one of the largest and most successful in the states, until Damon took that title away from him. I didn't think he deserved it either. He killed little kids and drank blood to get to where he was. Damon hated it and brought him down. I believe the main reason they're targeting him is because he still drinks the blood of little children and no one has caught him yet. They didn't tell you because it must be a lot to take in for you." She emphasized.

He drinks the blood of kids? Innocent children?

"Why the fuck hasn't this been found out yet by the authorities?"

"That's because he's been hiding. For years he cleared his name over and over again and Damon has the records. He knows exactly what to use against him. So he's not looking for answers, he's looking to torture George continuously and painfully because of the children he killed in order to gain power."
