Episode 40

“reporting live from Houston,Texas. A vehicle exploded for an unknown reason near a zebra crossing line,injuring over five people and killing six!” the reporter on the TV said.

“Damn..that's more than I expected!” shaw said,“we have to move on now,what has happened cannot be reversed.. " Ace said and sighed.

“I need to take Linda home..” Jane said. she left with her stepsister, Phil also left too.

“Wanna come stay with me?” Jerry said to Ace,He nodded. they both left leaving shaw with Annie, they didn't even bother to ask him if he wanted to go cause they already knows what his response will be!.

Ace and Jerry drove to a near by restaurant,they bought their food and ate, they talked as they were eating,“So..this is how it's gonna end?” Jerry said to Ace,“yeah..do you want more enemies, I'll give you one. you see that guy over there?, go hit him in his head with a stick and run away! ” Ace said and chuckled.

Jerry frowned at him,“that's not what I meant, you know..all this happened and we managed to survive..and the explosion.." He said, “the explosion cannot be reversed, we've all lost someone,I lost my wife and son..you lost your grandma and Jane lost her Father,they'll have to do what we did, move on!”. Ace said.

Jerry nodded and continued eating,they finished eating and drove home..

Jane got home and met her step mum weeping in the guest room,she jumped up happily and hugged Linda when she saw them walk in,“Where's he..where's your dad?" She asked looking around.

“dad's gone.." Jane said and walked upstairs hurriedly trying to control her tears, “He's what!!” Jane's step mum yelled from downstairs. Jane went to her room and sat on her bed,she sobbed silently, “i never wanted him to die..I never did!” Jane said as tears dropped down her face.

she buried her face in her pillow and cried harder,she soon heard a knock on her door. She stood up, wiped her tears and approached the door. Jane opened it slightly and Linda was standing there,“can I come in?” Linda asked.

Jane nodded and opened the door more,Linda walked In and sat on the bed, “Is everything gonna be okay with dad gone?” Linda asked,“Dad's not gone Linda,he is resting.." Jane said and hugged her,“yeah..he his” Linda said...

...............somewhere in Houston............

The room was pit dark, all that was heard was the sound of someone fumbling around trying to find something.

A sound of a switch was heard and the room shone with the brightness of the bulb,A man was standing staring at a picture frame hanged on the wall,he touched the face of the little girl in the picture.

“Naomi..I don't know who did this yet, but trust me I'll find whoever it is and get revenge, A bomb was implanted on the car, that's why it suddenly exploded, I know you can't hear me but I hope you find a place in your heart to forgive me, I shouldn't have let you go across the road alone, this wouldn't have happened if only I had stopped you earlier.. but this is not the end. I don't care how long it will take me but I'll find who did this and end them!!! ” The man yelled.

He switched off the room's light and left the building...

...............five years later......

“morning dad..” Harris said to his dad,“Morning my boy are you ready for school?! ” Ace said. “yeah!!" Harris said and jumped up happily.

“Alright honey..I'll go drop him on my way to work!” Ace yelled, “Alright,love you bye!" Jane yelled from the kitchen. Ace held his son's hand and walked out.

Its been five years since everything happened and things had gone back to normal, Ace married Jane and they had a son, Linda is now eighteen and stays with them,“wait up guys..are you gonna just leave me behind!! " Linda yelled as she ran to Ace.

They all got in his car and he dropped them in their respective schools. Ace drove to work..He got to their department and met his colleague,“Jerry " standing outside for him.

“what took you so long man?.." Jerry asked as he shakes Ace hand,“Nice seeing you partner..” Ace said. They both got in Ace's car,“huggh..I can't believe we're now cops!” Jerry said and laughed.

“that's life for you,a killer today can become a priest tomorrow!” Ace said and chuckled, “Alright let's drive around town and check how things are today.. " Jerry said.

“Yeah.." Ace said and started driving. they drove around for some while till they soon reached a traffic light and it was red,they stopped their car and waited for the green light,“so..you've heard anything from shaw?" Ace asked.

“yeah..I met him in a grocery store last week,he said he and Annie just welcomed their second baby!" Jerry said,“two babies already..” Ace said and smirked.

“ yeah its quite..oh Ace the light has changed.. " Jerry said,Ace quickly started his engine and drove forward,“so you were saying?" Ace asked,“oh yes..I was saying that.."

“Ace watch out!!!” Jerry yelled as a car collided with theirs.

Ace hit his head on the car steering, he looked around and saw Jerry panting heavily, you're okay? " Ace asked him,Jerry nodded panting like a dog,“who the hell is that!" Ace said and got down from his vehicle,he took out his gun and approached the car that hit them.

“get down from the vehicle!" Ace yelled at the man who was saying something's to himself sitting in the car,“what the fuck are you saying,get down now!" Ace yelled but still got no reply from the man.

Ace approached the car and opened the door,he dragged the man out if the car and handcuffed him,you're alright Jerry?" Ace said to Jerry who was now standing and watching as the man was been handcuffed, “Alright let's check if the car still works,this son of a bitch is going to jail! " Ace said...

“And what do we have here?" A police officer said as Ace and Jerry dragged the man in,the man was drunk and couldn't say a single sensible word,“why's he here?" The officer asked.

“he hit our vehicle with high speed sir,and almost killed us with his reckless driving!” Ace said,“i wasn't driving recklessly,I was driving drunkenly!” The man said with his voice shaking.

“take him away.." The officer said to Ace,the man was dragged away and Locked up in a cell,he was later called out to drop his statement.

“who are you” The officer enquired,“Am Josh ” The man answered,Josh what? ” The officer asked. “Josh, just call me Josh!” The man said.
