Chapter 39
The white building seemed to get to Sandra whenever she looked up to the company.
She had nothing against the company whatsoever, it was just the owner.
His always ironed tie, his well-ironed tuxedo suit that fitted his body.
His grey eyes that always stared longer than they should and that hair looked that like he got it done in somewhere in heaven.
That was what pissed her off! He was just too perfect, too perfect than a normal human being.
"Good morning Miss Avery." She gave the lady a smile who in turn returned it.
"Mr. Mason wants nothing but perfection today at the board meeting and I hope you see to that." Sandra nodded.
God help her! She had not even gotten the files ready to talk more about the words she was supposed to say.
Well, that was not a problem.
She could say anything that came to mind.
She was a good writer and a script reader...she was going to come out of the board meeting with flying colors.
"Uhm Avery." She went closer to the lady and gave her an awkward smile.
"Hmm?" Avery asked, looking up at her for the question she had in mind.
"What is the topic about?" She asked, and Avery squinted her eyes.
"You haven't done the report?" Avery's eyes widened and she laughed.
It was a funny laugh, a laugh that made Sandra laugh as well..not knowing she was laughing at her demise.
"Are you serious? Damn! you almost got me there, I know you've done the reports." Avery said again.
"I've not written down anything Avery, I was about to go in there and write it down. Please just tell me what I'm supposed to be writing about."
It wasn't Sandra's fault! Earlier the week, Mason had decided to give her a cut to learn from Frederick, one of his best secretaries that was long promoted.
When he had called her back so she would sit for the meeting, he had given her a topic to talk about but she was so angry that she didn't even write it down..and that was the second day of the week and she was to deliver it on Friday, which was today.
"I'm not kidding Avery, do it quick." She begged and the lady sighed.
"You're to talk about the business going on in one of the Casinos owned by Mr. Mazza," Avery said.
Sandra's eyes widened and she felt like her eyes were going to fall out.
"You mean I'm to talk about Mikhail! That Monster!" She hissed.
"You cannot talk like that outside Sandra, people are watching." Avery faked a smile and the people nearby frowned.
"Why I'm I to pretend like he's not a monster? Damn Ashley had to put up with his shit!" Sandra cussed again.
"If I were you, I'd go into my office and prepare what to say. Rather than stand here and cuss someone that'd get your head ripped out of your body." Avery warned.
"He wouldn't do that, he's married to me.." Sandra trialed and smiled at Avery.
"He's married to your sister?"
"How did you know I have a sister?"
"She's in the referer list, Ashley Crook," Avery answered with a frown.
"Bye Avery, I'll be quick with the file and you'll be so shocked," Sandra promised, sticking out her pinky finger as she ran to the elevator.
Sandra walked into her office, picked up her pen, and began to scribble something on the paper.
She was a good writer...yes, but she was not a good writer for job preferences.
Hell! How was she supposed to write about board members and some details she didn't even know about?
Looking up, she saw her cold handsome Boss walking past her office to his and she stood up immediately.
"Hi Bos...I mean, Good morning Boss. How are you doing?" She asked, and he stopped in his track.
Turning to her, she gasped as she saw his face.
He looked like he had taken many fists on his pretty face.
There was a cut on his lips and a bandage on his forehead and a bandage covering his whole right wrist...he looked like a mess.
A heavenly mess with the bandages on.
"What is the matter, Miss Crook?" He asked, frowning as she said nothing.
"Sir...what happened to your face?" She asked.
He scoffed.
Mason had never had someone care about him.
Well apart from his best friend, he didn't want anyone caring about him and this little woman was staring as if the wound was on her.
"Why did you stop me, Miss Crook? I won't repeat myself." His voice came out cold and she frowned.
He didn't know how her brain worked.
When he talked to people, they moved back due to fear but when it came to her.. she'd frown and sometimes cuss thinking he wasn't looking.
He could recall what happened in the board room after the board meeting and he was addressing some people.
He had said something and she snapped at him.
He did see anger in her eyes but with all those anger, she'd back down.
"Sir about the details for the Casinos owned by Mr. Mazza. I uhm, I don't know how.."
"It isn't owned by Mr. Mazza Is it? It is owned by Mr. and Mrs. Mazza and I was clearly informed that the Mrs is your sister...so fix the problem!" He said sternly and walked away.
Sandra huffed, her head almost busting due to anger.
Wait! How did he know that she was Ashley's sister?
Or that Mikhail was married to someone who was her sister? It didn't make sense but she was not going to indulge herself in another fight with her Boss!
Walking to her office, she slumped down on the chair and dialed her sister's phone number.
"Hi Sandra, are you here yet?"
"No sister, but I need your help..your sister is about to die!"
"Quit the word 'die' Sandra. Someone might just die because of it." Ashley cautioned.
"What do you know about Mikhail's Casino?"
"Huh?"
