Shot
Chapter 57
"I don't give jobs to people that I don't deem fit ready for a job." His voice was plain...smoke puffed out of his mouth as he spoke.
"You want the man dead... he's a dead man already."
"That's where you're wrong. This man has been shot many times and he's still alive. He's not just any man you go to kill." The man said, chuckling as he stood up from his chair and walked to the window.
"How do you want him dead then?"
"You cannot kill him stupid. But then I want you to do a clean job. Kill his Achilles Heel and get Two Million Dollars. A sharp kill, a bullet can do the deed." The man said again, smirking as he removed the coat that was draped over his shoulder.
"Can you do that Ken? This is a job that can cost you your life. Men have tried but failed."
"Anything for you Boss." The other young man said and stood up.
"If you live, you get the money. But if you don't.. your family gets it. The Omerta can never change."
Puffing another smoke...he waited before chuckling.
"You should know never to betray us Ken, or your family shall suffer tenfolds!"

Ashley's body was already heating up, her head was once again filled with the memories of that night.
That night had been intense.
She had felt the love that day, it wasn't just sex but love was there.
She looked up at him and his dark eyes had gotten darker, his eyes narrowed on hers and he smiled like he knew what she was going through.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" She does almost breathless as she watched his eyelashes flap.
"I'm supposed to be asking that Ashley Mazza, why are you staring at me like that as if you want to say something."
"You're...
"I'm what? Turning you on? You should be respectful and don't break the laws of that book of yours you call the Bible." He smirked, watching her lips parting as she sucked In deep breaths.
"Can we go home now?" She asked to see him shake his head in disagreement.
"We'll go to the beach just like you've written down and don't forget Ashley Mazza, I've paid already for the beach, and don't you worry...this faithful husband of yours can satisfy your burning desire there... after all, there'll be no one there.....just us." He said, his lips stretching to a smile.
Ashley stood up from the pavement.
The ice cream had finished already and it was left with the container.
Walking to the car, she hopped into the car and pressed the radio button.
She didn't know why her body was suddenly acting strange.
Her head was once immensely filled with the memories of that night.
That night he had left Seattle to come to Italy.
That night he had held her as if she would break once he let go.
That night he had kissed her as if she was his favorite cocktail.
That sweet night she could never forget in her whole life.
She swallowed down the spit In her mouth and ran her tongue on her dry lips.
"Your lips look sexy." He commented and she looked up to see him staring at her from the rearview.
"Can we go now?" She asked.
She was tired of getting these little talks from him.
He was making her need something more than just words.
Her body was burning and if he could say the word.. she'd melt like pudding.
She watched him from the mirror, wondering why he was doing anything.
She knew Mikhail Mazza and right now...he looked like a turned-on mess! But still, he was not doing anything at all... just driving as if everything was cool.
"Stop staring at me like that Ashley Mazza, we're almost there." He said, snapping her out of her many thoughts.
She frowned, looking forward and seeing the name of the beach on a huge signboard In front of them.
He stopped the car just in front of the beach and they got down. A man walked to them and Mikhail handed out the car key so it would be parked somewhere else.
"What do you want to do?" He asked as they walked into the beach.
Ashley frowned as she looked around, tilting her head to see that there was nobody present at the beach.
Phew! Thank God.
The beach was always filled up but thankfully it wasn't today.
They walked deeper into the beach and she knew something was off when she didn't see a damn soul.
"Did you rent the beach for the day, Mikhail?" She asked, her eyes wide open to see him nod.
"I hate people surrounding me, talk more of some peasant touching me." He mumbled and she smiled.
"You're too proud of yourself Mr. Mazza, might as well mellow down and let your ego die." She said but he scoffed.
"I inherited a lot of pride you see."
"Ha! I can see it in your eyes and your body. A lot of it. Plus extra ego." She rolled her eyes and he nodded.
"I wanna build houses on the sands."
"Sand house?" He asked and she nodded.
It had been so long since she had done that.
Before their mother had fallen sick...they would all go sightseeing every Tuesday in Garfield beach and build a lot of sand houses....huge ones that made people stare.
Recalling those old times made her smile widen as she lowered herself to the ground to pack the sand close to her legs.
Ha! She could not wait to hug her mother and take her to more beautiful places.
Just as she had recalled something she stood up at a fast pace, her leg that was stuck in the sand made her fall back to the ground seeing that she had gathered too much sand that was mixed with water.
"What is an Omerta?" She asked.
He turned to her with a frown on his face.
"Omerta? Who told you about that?" He asked.
"Rob told me about the Omerta and what again? Blood covenant? Are you part of some cult gathering or what?" She questioned, removing the sand and keeping them near so she'd get down again.
"If Rob did tell you what you know then I'm pretty sure he said never to mention that to my face."
"He did say that but didn't give me a good reason. Sorry if I broke one of your rules but I don't care. I'm not part of it. right?" She cocked a brow and he chuckled.
"You look like a doll. If I squeeze the life out of you right here, right now...no one would ever know."
"You've begun those treaty words again. Sometimes make me wonder if it wasn't the very same man who knelt In front of me a few hours ago." She said and he scoffed, licking his lips as he walked to her.
She took a step back and frowned when he kept coming.
"How many lives do you have?"
"Nine. You can't possibly kill the person you knelt for. What are you doing?" She asked, staring at him as he came near.
"Well..she didn't want to bring that up but then she needed to know what an Omerta was. Rob had told him a part of it but not all of it."
"It's a code. A Law no one is supposed to break." He said, looking away as he watched her eyes widen.
"And I just did?"
"You broke the first Law by saying it out in such a public place. So for this Ashley Mazza, you're supposed to be twelve feet under."
"But there's no one here. Will you kill me? Can you kill me?" She asked, and he smirked.
"You're having fun right?"
"I know you can't kill me." She mumbled, shaking her head as she watched him go down.
Mikhail huffed.
Seriously? He never knew this was among the deal he had made.
Was this his price for...
He bent down, sticking his right leg out, using his hands to pull a lot of sand to his legs and when they were firm....he began to build them with his legs still in the sand.
"I thought you didn't want to do this.. cheat." She mumbled.
He stopped, looking up at her.
"What? You're a cheat for doing it that way. You're supposed to make sure your legs don't get to the top before hitting it." She said, crawling on the sand and shifting his leg to the point that was fair for the sand house.
Mikhail nodded.
He didn't know why his breath had just ceased when she had called him a cheat.
Thinking she was talking about what had happened a few days ago.
The small com in his ears buzzed and he frowned.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Sir you have to leave there this instant. We just spotted a sniper from our Satellite. 3:0'clock from your direction!!"
He stood up as quickly as he could, his eyes went to the building they had mentioned and they widened seeing the long pointed rifle from the third floor just before he could rush to Ashley who had stood up looking confused..she dropped to the ground after a loud bang! followed.
"Ashley!!!"
