Ice cream
Chapter 56
The drive to the beach was slower than she expected it.
This was unlike Mikhail and up until that very moment, she could not believe that Mikhail was sitting in the car and driving it to a beach she had written down for them to go to.
Why was he suddenly acting like that?
He did say he cared..but she could not understand how.
Why did he care? How could he care?
He was yet to explain what he meant but then for the main time.. she'd let him off the hook.
Licking her lips and looked out of the window of the car and sighed.
"Are you okay? If you're not okay with the breeze, I can close the windows." He offered but she shook her head.
"I'm okay Mikhail, can you stop acting like I'm some fragile thing that would break?" She asked, turning to see a smile on his lips.
"No one said you were fragile." He said and she huffed.
"You've been saying that for a while now."
"Ha! Lying with my name. I don't see how that would help you, Mrs. Mazza." He said.
"Actions speak louder than words Mr. Mazza." She retorted to have him nod.
"It's taking time."
"Yes, because I asked them to take care of something for me.. that's why I'm slowing down a bit." He said, and she frowned.
No wonder!
"Then let's buy ice cream." She pointed at a small ice cream shop that was just beside the road.
He nodded, reversing to stand in front of the shop.
"What would you like?" She asked, pulling out a hundred bucks from her purse.
"Banana cream and a little chocolate at the top...it shouldn't be too creamy though."
"You're not buying a tea, what sort of combination is that?" She huffed and he shrugged.
"That's how I take my cream."
Ashley sighed, getting down the car and walking to the shop.
It was a guy and he looked young...maybe nineteen or twenty.
Smiling at him, she passed the note and ordered.
"A medium-sized cup of Vanilla and Coffee mixed and a Banana Cream with a little chocolate on top, it Should not be too creamy." She said and the guy frowned.
"Banana Cream and it shouldn't be too creamy? How's that possible?" He asked, shaking his head as made her order.
Mikhail was already waking at the shop and Ashley turned to him and shook her head.
"Even I who makes coffee and tea knows that...that kind of combination is only meant for tea, not ice cream."
"Just order the goddamn ice cream, they know how to do it." Mikhail huffed, walking to the shop and glaring at the guy.
"You don't have my order?" He asked, and the young guy looked up to have his eyes widened.
"M...Mr. Mazza." He called, coughing.
"I'll let you live since you don't know the other name." He said coldly.
"I'll have it ready. You didn't tell me who was having it Ma'am, I'll have it ready now." The guy said, standing up in a hurry and knocking down some things.
"You're making him so scared."
"He's a chick, that's why he's so afraid."
"Not everyone was born to be like you." She glared at him and he rolled his eyes.
"And you think some was born to be a chick? Come on Ashley, imagine how you were during Highschool..and right now. Do you think you would have been bullied if you were this tough? Bullies bully the weak." He asked.
"Are you saying that I'm weak?"
"I'm saying that you've grown into a woman who learned from her past."
"He's still a child."
"He's either Eighteen or Nineteen. He replied and she frowned.
"He's scared of you and he's right to be scared of you. You make great men surrender in fear and you're saying that a young boy of eighteen should have looked you in the eye and done what? Fight you?" She shook her head, chuckling.
He smiled.
He missed this.
Mikhail smiled at the thought of seeing her argue.
This was indeed Ashley Mazza, crying was not something a woman like her was supposed to do.
He missed those times he'd argue all day with her and at the end of the day, he'd win.
She had never changed.
With just a few days he had left her In Italy...it seemed as though he had left her for a year.
"What are you thinking about?" Her voice made him snap out of his thoughts and he looked up at her.
"Nothing. I just recalled that there's something I need to do, that's not done yet." He said and she nodded.
"Is it now? Do you have to do it now? I would not want to hold you here when you have something important to do." She said.
"It's not important. Just something that your notetakers an hour or two if the person I question hates talking too much." He answered and she nodded before her eyes widened and she turned to him so quickly.
"Are you thinking of killing someone? Or do you want to go kill someone?" She asked.
"I won't kill them yet, cause I need something from them and my guts tells me that they have what I want." He said and she sighed.
"The Bible says: Thou shall not kill." Ashley quoted the Bible, keeping a straight face as she licked her ice cream.
"Hell is real and sinners Eli fall therein." She added, shrugging as he turned to her.
"You're making it seem like I'm a devil, Mrs. Mazza. If we're going, to begin wit,h, the Bible.. you should talk about the Bishop that stands in front of the people, on the altar of god, and In the end... he'd go home and fuck his wife."
"Yes, 'cause she's his wife and not some other woman's wife."
"And you think it's not the same thing?"
"How the fuck is it the same thing? The Bible said; Thou shall not sleep with another man's wife 'cause that's called Adultery." Ashley said, dropping her ice cream on the pavement.
"Adultery? What about me fucking you?" He asked, raising his brows and watching her eyes go wide.
"You're... you're my husband."
"So? There's no sin attached to that?" He asked, and she nodded.
Ashley was already thinking about things that were making her messed up head more messed up and Mikhail was not helping matters.
"You see? I mean look at your Ashley... you're thinking about things that could be considered a sin but you're going to tell me right now..that it's fair cause I'm your husband right?"
"Yes."
"So you're admitting that you were indeed thinking about something?" He asked and she nodded before realizing herself and shaking her head.
"You're making me say things I don't want to say."
"Out of the Abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh. Isn't it in the Bible you speak of?"He asked to see her shift further as he made to move.
"I didn't say anything."
"In that Bible, you speak of..it is called a lie." He said to nod and she frown.
"You don't know anything about the Bible."
"But I know that you're Horny as fuck right now and you're still running that little sweet mouth because you don't want me to know how wet you've become because of some little words." He smirked.
"I'm not wet."
"Be careful now. The god you speak of might hear that word and hold it against you. I wonder how you could open your mouth and mutter the word without thinking about sinning." He said.
Ashley's frown deepened.
Why was he using her words against her now?
She was talking about unmarried people.
She was married for Pete's sake and why the fuck did he care about that!
"You're not licking your ice cream." She mumbled, trying to change the subject but just as she got up to pick up the ice cream that was melting due to the hot weather...he grabbed her hand and pulled her forward.
"What are you doing? People will see!" She whispered to see him smile.
"Why? Why are you afraid of that? Are you forgetting that we're married and since god will not judge us... there's no need to be concerned about the judgments of mere humans?" He asked and she sighed.
"This isn't fair." She mumbled.
"Hmm..how so?"
"You're making me feel bad. I thought you said you'd make me happy and you'd do whatever I wanted."Ashley answered.
He pulled her closer, closing the distance between their bodies, and whispered into her ears.
"Now tell me, Ashley Mazza. Tell me that you're feeling bad right now. With everything I've said and done.. there's no way you're feeling bad right now."
She scoffed, rolling her eyes as she tried to pull out of his arms.
"Tell me you don't want me ramming into your little sweet cunt..like I did four days ago." He whispered and she felt her blood drain... recalling that night!
