Fiancee
Chapter 59
Sandra stepped out of the car.
The mansion was a bright one that had very beautiful designed flowers which made her wonder how Ashley could bear living in a house that looked like that of a demon.
The last time she had gone there that day in Italy...she had thought that there was no way she would live there if she were her sister.
But Ashley was so in love with her husband..it was something that began from highschool and there was no denying that her sister still loved the man even though she kept denying it.
"Don't forget to smile Sandra." She heard Mason whisper before he turned around and stood by her side.
She was about to start walking when he grabbed her hand and pulled her close.
"What are you doing?"
"I said...." He turned to give her a feigned smile. "Don't forget to smile Sandra. Turn that wrinkle face to a smiling star." He said and she hissed.
"Why do we have to be like this. This position is not a good one." She said, making him laugh.
"Don't forget your place Sandra Crook. No matter what happens today. Do not forget your place." He said, as they both walked into the Mansion.
She had finally understood the reason for everything he had been doing ever since they had left the company.
He was doing all these to please his parents.
She sat in front of the woman that had smiles written all over her face as she if she was just offered a can of candles.
"How are you doing today Sandra? We're sorry for not meeting with you sooner and letting our son get to see you beautiful face each day." They woman said and she smiled.
The woman was quite the talker.
"No, it's nothing Ma'am. Mason is a always busy." She smiled, sipping her wine.
"Mom, can you stop asking her questions. She's a shy person."
"I'm not shy." She nudged by the shoulder playfully.
"Awwn, they are so cute together. I mean look at them." The woman mumbled turning to her husband and placing her palm on his.
If this wasn't Mason and I doing this whole charade...I would scoffed and laugh my eyes out.
Who the hell was cute with him?
He was practically the worst person I'd ever want to be friends with, talk more of fiancee?
That was such a long word.
Sooner we were done with lunch and we moved to the couch.
Mason's mother was such a sweetheart and she'd be a good mother in-law to anyone that would marry Mason in the future.
When Mason and his father settled down to talk about some business, she grabbed my hands and asked me to follow her for some woman talk.
We walked to the second floor of the building and into one of the rooms.
It was a painting room.
"These are beautiful." Sandra mumbled and she smiled.
"Mason loved painting so much. He always paint that time when he would come home with Sylvia." She said, and Sandra turned to her.
Sylvia?
Was it the portrait of that woman he was always staring at the first time She had began her job in the company?
Well... After some times, he'd asked Avery to take the portrait away.. saying it was occupying a lot of space in his office.
"You know her?" The woman asked, and Sandra nodded.
Mason had once talked about the Sylvia girl before but that was that time he was drunk and she had to take him to his penthouse.
He had spilled a lot of nonsense which she doubt he recalled..cause if he did, he wouldn't be letting her play fiancee at the moment.
"He told you about her?" She asked, eyes wide open and Sandra nodded.
"Just a little detail. She broke his eyes by taking a lot of the companies money with her when she ran away but that is that now...he is now mine, I don't have to think about some Sylvia." Sandra said and the woman gave her a huge smile.
"Can I ask you for something?" She asked.
Sandra didn't want to make promises she would not fulfill but seeing how the woman looked like she was about to cry..she nodded and smiled back.
"Can you make him draw you? My Son has never drawn anything ever since that girl broke his heart and left him. He began having hand tremors when he'd want to draw and ever since then...he has stopped drawing a damn thing. He doesn't even write much cause of it." The woman explained.
That was it!
All those times she'd feel like hitting him because he's call her out to his room to write down some things.
Those times he'd tell her to follow him to some meetings just only for her to go write everything they'd need.
All those times she'd been hating him and praying to kill him.
She lowered her head and sighed.
This wasn't good at all.
"Make him draw you before you leave, if you succeed in doing that..then I bet you sweetie, you will have everything you ever wanted. You'll be my daughter in-law with a huge smile on my face." She continued.
"Do you know that at some point he developed haplephobia." She said, and my eyes widened.
"What's that about?"
Well I've never heard of that before.
"He would faint when one touches him. We went through a lot of therapy till he was perfect. My son can be a jerk sometimes but when he loves...he loves with his full eyes and I can swear to you that I saw love flash in his eyes today when he was staring at you." She said.
Love? Flashed In his eyes?
Maybe it was the fake love or acting love that did but there was no way Mason Scott would love her.
She was a nobody...and he had made it known to her time without number that she would never be his type.
And how was she going to make him draw her before they leave.
"Okay." She mumbled and the woman smiled.
"Thank you sweetie." His mother said, and gave her a hug before leaving.
"Here's the key to the room, in case he decides to draw you. He loves drawing in this room. It was his......" Sandra saw the woman blink her eyes before shaking her head and letting her be.
"Don't you worry about that."
She didn't want to pry. This was just their first meeting and trying to know everything would not be good.
"I'll leave now. Take your time." The woman said and Sandra nodded, walking out of the room.
Entering the living room, Mason's father was they only person there.
What was she to call him?
Sir or Dad? She wondered, scratching her head.
"Dad?" She called and the man turned to smile at her.
"Mason is at the pool side. Take that glass door and you'll him there." The man said and she nodded.
Walking towards the direction she was directed to, she walked out of the door to see Mason sitting by the pool side.
Was it only her or he was looking so... lonely?
She towards him and bent down, taking her shoes off..she sat on the pavement of the pool and dipped her legs inside the cold water.
"What did my mother say?"
"Nothing."
"Lies. She must have said something to you."
"Why did you bring me here? You could have taken any other person?" She asked.
She wanted to clarify the fact that Mason didn't love her.
Maybe her mother was just seeing things that weren't real.
"Because you're the only woman that is involved in my life. I was really sure they'd believe we're going out."
"I'm your personal secretary." She said, to see him nod.
"That's what makes it even more believable." He said and smiled.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
He said nothing, just staring at the pool.
"I'm a Sketcher and this pool is just making me want to sketch something." She said to finally see him turn to her.
"You draw?"
"Yeah, sometimes when I'm free from your troubling jobs."
"You should be happy I send you errands." He huffed.
"Ha...I see, as the god you are." She rolled her eyes and he nodded.
"Do you have something that I can use to sketch something out?" She asked, and he frowned before nodding.
"Come with me." He said, and she stood up..
They both walked inside and up the stairs to the very same room she had left before she gone I'm search of him.
"They key is suppose to be here." He said, lifting the flower pot.
"Is it this one?" She asked, showing him the key she held.
"Yeah, where did you see it?" He asked, and she pointed to the heaped cartons nearby.
"Hmm." He hummed before going to open the door.
"Is it your room?" She asked and he scoffed.
"Why would I take you to my room? You shouldn't forget your place."
"I wonder what place I am." She rolled her eyes as they walked into the room.
"Welcome to my....I call it My World of Peace."
