Portrait
Chapter 60
Sandra smiled as she walked into the room and took a seat on the stool.
"The room is quite dusty..mind if we clean it?" She asked, and he nodded.
"I haven't been into this room for quite some time now and the spiders had decided to use it for the time being." He said, gesturing to the cobwebs.
Sandra chuckled, standing up.
She was not wearing any shoes since she had taken off her heels that time at the pool.
She picked up the long brush that was close by and swept the dirt away before pulling the chairs together and dusting them clean with the small rag.
"Why are you barefooted?"
"The floor is clean."
"That is no reason to be barefooted, they might be little particles on the floor that might cause a severe injury." He said, walking to the corner of the door and bringing home slippers for her to put on.
Sandra slided her feet into and sighed.
It was oversize for her size design was perfect.
"Ha! I never knew you loved such colors." She said, and he shook his head.
The slipper were bright blue color and had an image of those three little power girls' named power Puff girls.
"It isn't mine. That belongs to my brother." He said and she raised her head in shock.
"You had a brother? But google said.." She trailed and kept her mouth shut.
"My My...so you googled about me. Tell me what you saw and let me tell you you want were not supposed to see." He said, and she rolled her eyes.
Was he trying to divert her from that conversation? Just like his mother did?
She licked her lips and huffed.
"What I found there was ..Mason Scott, young successful, and the only child to Mr and Mrs Scott Alessandro. A man whore!" She said, reemphasizing the the last part.
"Don't tell me you're jealous."
"Wow, I would rather hug a burning transformer that isn't stable than be jealous." She said, to have him nod.
"Where are the items for the sketching?" She asked, to see him opening a huge drawer and pulling out an A4 paper.
She smiled as he brought out a pencil and walked to her.
"What are you doing?'
"Giving you a paper and a pencil, no?"
Dropping the paper on the stool, Sandra thought of a way and a smile crept on her lips.
"How about this." She said, drawing his attention from the portraits that were arranged side by side on the long table.
"If I sketch you, you sketch me as well." She said and he frowned before nodding.
"Wait! You'll sketch me?" She asked to see him nod.
"Is there a problem?" He asked and she shook her head before sitting out a beginning to sketch.
Was his mother exaggerating? The woman had said that he didn't dare draw after that incident and he always had hand tremors?
Why was accepting the such deal now?
She kept sketching him, building his handsome face as she smiled.
Mason Scott was handsome but he was a jerk.
"Are you done?"
"It has just been Twenty minutes Mason Scott, there's no way I'll finish such in Twenty minutes is there?" She asked.
"For a personal secretary, you're supposed to be fired base on how you talk to your boss."
"I'm so sorry Macy, but right now you're not my boss but my fiance," Sandra said.
He looked up frowning as he kept still.
Macy? Wasn't that for a girl? Marcy? Macy?
There was no arguing with his secretary.
Sometimes he wondered if she was the secretary or he was.
It was all Mikhail's fault for making him hire someone like her?
Although all the jobs given to hhewersalways complete and accurate...he didn't like the way she made him feel.
"Are you done?"
"I'm almost done." She said, her eyes going to the wall clock and she smiled, dropping the pencil.
"See? Just Thirty five minutes." She said, grinning.
Turning the sketch for him to see, he nodded.
"You're good." He said.
"I started drawing ever since I was a kid. Ashley paints while I draw, we were badasses that time when it came to drawing. Made Mikhail so pissed he'd always bully us." She said, laughing as she recalled the past.
"Hmm." He replied.
"It's your turn to draw me. Look how handsome I made you look in the portrait. So opposite from the real image." She clicked her lips.
There was quite a difference between the image and the real man.
The real man was more handsome.
But she would never admit that to him.
Pulling the sheet away from the drawing board, she replaced it with another sheet and stood up from the stool.
"Get up."
"What?"
"You're going to draw me since I drew you, so get up and go sit there." She said and he sighed before standing.
"I'm already regretting the fact that I told you to come here."
"What a pity your mother seem to like me."
"So what about that?" He cocked a brow and she smirked.
"What if she tried to pair us together Awwn... such a wonderful thought." She replied, shrugging as she sat on the chair.
"I wonder how bad the drawing would go." He said to have her throw a glare.
"Do not disappoint me, you said you were the best." She pointed out and sat still as he began the drawing.
It took him thirty seconds and he drew her face and her head part.
"Are you done? Remember only the face and the head part. You should be done within a minute." She said and he nodded turning the drawing board here to see what he had drawn.
Sandra looked dumbfounded.
The image was everything real. It was as if she was staring at herself in the mirror.
She turned to him and he smiled.
"Surprise...right?" He asked for her to nod.
"How can you draw like this? It's too real to be an image." She mumbled, going to the image.
She had thought she was a good drawer but she was not even close to being good.
"How is it? Better than yours?" He asked for her to nod.
"Why did you stop drawing when you can draw like this?"
He kept silent watching her as she watched the image as if she couldn't get enough of it.
"I just stopped drawing. I use to love drawing that time because I had someone to draw. I'd always draw her to enlighten my spirit."
"when she left... drawing seemed like a job."
"And why did you draw now?" She asked, turning to meet his eyes.
"Because I thought...I finally had someone to draw again." He said, his eyes going to the image he had drawn.
Sandra's eyes widened and she gulped.
What the hell was she thinking about? She scolded herself and nodded.
"Uhm. I'm hungry now, are you hungry? I'll make something for us." She said, trying to clear the atmosphere that had gone from normal to awkward.
"You just ate a few minutes ago Sandra, don't tell me you're a glutton."
"I'm sorry for being a glutton Mr. Scott but I eat a lot and you have to deal with that." She said.
"Why would I deal with it? Your husband will be the one to do just that. At least he'd be okay for the first five months and then after the first year.. he'd have to file for a divorce knowing he would not be able to feed a glutton." He said with a smile...
"You need not worry dear sir, my husband will not be poor to think about the food I eat."
"Hmm.."
"Let me take that." She said, pulling out the image he had drawn and going out of the room.
She walked down the stairs and down to the garden in search of his mother.
She had promised her something and thankfully she had accomplished it.
She never thought he would listen to her at all.
He didn't even look like someone that had stopped drawing.
He did it without thinking. Thinking about it, her head swelled as she saw the woman from her.
Walking to the woman with a wide smile, she stretched out her hand for the woman to take the sheet with a confused face and when she opened it...her jaw dropped and a smile took over the years older woman's face.
