Puppy
Chapter 63
Days went by and so did weeks.
Sandra stood in front of the huge mirror, her hair had been braided to a knot and she looked extremely beautiful.
She was wearing a red gown and a black heels, she picked a pin and placed it on her hair after packing the hair to a bun.
She looked so beautiful that she was sure all the guys at the party would trip when she walked in.
They newly wedded couple Mr. and Mrs. Govanni were throwing a party and Mason had been invited.
She was going as his date and she had to look her best.
Smiling at her reflection in the mirror, she walked out of the room to the living room.
Months ago, their family was regarded as a trash cans, nothing to write home about but now...they had money.
Although they were not that rich, they had enough money to take care of themself.
Their mother had not woken up after that one time and thankfully the doctor had assured them that they would see their mother y Friday.
She walked out of the house and locked the door.
Turning around she gasped.
"Jesus Christ! What are you doing here?" She asked.
"I followed you here."
"I can see that, but why are you here? Why did you follow me here?" She asked.
"We're going to a party Sandra, how do you expect me to take you there?"
"I thought you were going to wait in the office for me. But thank God you're here. I would love a free ride." She said, smiling at him as they began to walk down the stairs.
"Hmm...free ride." He mumbled, nodding his head.
"Why I'm I to say when we get there? Uhm.I mean concerning the company, cause I have a feeling that's why you're taking me there today. You want me to talk while you walk around and get investors." She said to have him smile.
"You're becoming clever. But the wrong thing is, I wouldn't be walking around to get investors. They will come by themselves. Everyone loves good things.' He said and she shrugged.
"Mother called me yesterday, and asked me to come home tomorrow."
"Home?" He asked and she nodded.
"My mother?" He asked again and she nodded.
"Why would you call my mother..mother and my house...home?" He asked again.
Sandra huffed, rolling her eyes.
"Don't get too ahead of yourself Mr. Mason. I am just doing my part, I'm not the one who asked you to go tell the woman that I am your fiancee when I'm not." She said, and he nodded realizing why.
"After tomorrow, you don't have to do anything again. Just tell her we're not together and save yourself." He said.
She frowned.
"If someone's going to tell them that we're not together, then that person is supposed to be you Mason. Stop acting like a jerk, you didn't even tell me what you were planning when you took me to see them so it's your business not mine." She said and he sighed.
"Another cuss word from you Sandra Crook and I'll see to it that you do not get a job anywhere else after I fire you."He said, causing her eyes to widen and she chuckled.
"Are you alright sir? I thought I saw sweat on your face. Here let me clean it." She feigned a smile, walking to him and placing her handkerchief on his face.
"So sweaty, please don't tell Sir. It's not good for your body." She said again.
"Pretenders are the worst kind of people, one could ever meet," Mason said.
"Yes. They are blood suckers and pretentious bitches who act as if.."
"It's a good thing you're honest. You do know that you're the pretentious bitch right?" He cocked a brow and she frowned.
"When was I pretending? I wouldn't cuss myself if I knew that was me?"
"Oh wow." He nodded, a wide smile on his face.
"Ma'am? Sir?" The driver who had been holding the door for quite a while called.
"Huh? When did we get here?" Sandra shrugged as she got into the car.
The young driver sighed, as he walked to the driver's side.
This was the first time, he had seen his Boss talk freely with a woman and not act like a cold stone.
She was the first woman he had seen his Boss with many times now.
Although his Boss was known for being a notorious Playboy, he never fucked a woman twice.
If he were to take Lady A to the hotel tonight, tomorrow he would take Lady B and then the next Lady C. He has never gone back to Lady A before.
And now seeing how the woman was behaving and cussing him behind the back seat where they sat....he knew his Boss was into the woman for real.
"Taaarr..." The tire of the car screeched as he stopped so as not to hit the small puppy that had crossed the road.
"What the fuck was that Andrew? You fucking drunk?" Mason questioned, holding the shoulders of Sandra who had almost flown over.
"It was a mistake, don't yell at him. He was avoiding hitting the small puppy." Sandra said, pointing at the small puppy that had crossed the road and was standing by its side.
Mason huffed, turning to glare at the young man who was beginning to shrink down.
"Oh My God, it's wounded. The puppy is wounded." Sandra mumbled, pointing at the puppy that was barely moving.
"So what? Don't tell me you're going to..." He wasn't even done when she opened the door and got out of the car. "Fuck I!" He cussed.
The driver drove to the side of the road and parked the car and he got out.
Now Sandra didn't know what to do.
She had stepped out of the car to save the little puppy but now she was in the middle of the road and cars were moving to pass her.
She could hear the sirens wailing and the horns of cars, and when she couldn't take it anymore, she fell on the floor, her hand covering her ears.
Mason looked at the road, before running to where she had sat down.
He picked her up and slowly began to walk to the other side of the road as the cars waited for them to pass.
When they were secured and out of the road, he pulled away and made her look at him by holding her shoulders.
"Are you crazy? You almost got him, if you knew you didn't have the balls to help the dog...you would've just let him go." He said.
"See, he's still bleeding." She mumbled, looking up and raising her eyes at him.
"Are you dumb?! He's just an animal, and you're a human being.!"
"Don't fucking yell at me. The dog is so scared." She said, yanking her hand away from his and going to pick up the puppy.
"You're not getting into my car with that thing." He groaned.
"And who said I needed your car? I can get to the vet in time with a cab." She shrugged.
Mason laughed.
Never had he ever seen a woman who was tempting him so hard like this. She was making him go crazy and it seems as if he was going to snap at any moment.
"What are you waiting for? You can go and I'll get to Vet and then the party." She smiled.
"Are you doing this on purpose to make me angry?" He asked.
"What would making you angry benefit me? If not just more yelling?!" She scoffed and waved at a cab.
The cab driver popped out of his head.
"Do you know where I can get a vet around here?" She asked and he nodded.
"It's close." The man said, and she smiled.
Just as she was about to open the door, she felt a firm grip on her and she was pulled back.
"What the fuck are you doing?" He gritted his teeth.
Sandra looked up and stepped back.
This was the first time she had seen him this angry.
He was looking so pissed that she forgot how to breath.
"Answer me, Sandra."
"You asked me not to get into the car with him."
Chuckling, he grabbed her arm and signaled for the driver to come to the other side of the road where they stood.
They two got into the car.
"Where are as going?" She asked the young driver to answer.
"To the closest vet here, I know of one." He answered and she nodded, turning around to see that Mason was looking out of the car with his face red in anger.
What was he so angry about?
That she took the puppy? Or she almost killed herself?
She rolled her eyes and looked out the car as well and all the driver could do was shake his head...as he watched the drama from the rearview.
