Chapter 10 Secondhand Embarrassment

“Kianna, finally, here you are! You don’t answer my call nor text me back, so I have to come to you! Well, tell me the truth. Are you married? I am your boyfriend, your fiance! You cannot treat me like this!” his forehead furrowed as he were approaching Kia but the guards wouldn’t let him get near Kianna.

“Shut up!” the crowd went silent as Kianna scream with madness.

“Babe, Kia, what— what’s wrong with you?” he asked. He was so nervous thinking about why Kianna is being so haughty.

*Don’t tell me… she knows the relation between Asteria and me. No, impossible! I have been holding out on her! She won’t know about it!* Vincent wandering.

“Stop calling me that! You make me sick! You know what, I blame myself. I had never thought you are such a person!” Kia said, feeling disgusted with his ex-fiance.

“You can’t treat me like this! I am your boyfriend! We’ve been in a relationship for five years! I can’t believe you are so cruel and marry someone else soon!” He said while having trouble maintaining eye contact with Kia.

Kianna was beyond furious. She didn’t expect to see the person she loved for several years acting like this. She never knew that this day will come. The perfect relationship she has a long time ago, all f*cking gone in a blink of an eye.

“I am cruel? You know what you have done! Let me tell you officially that I dump you! It’s time for us to say goodbye! I got married! So please, leave me alone!” Kianna hissed irritably.

Vincent started getting irritated with Kianna protecting herself. He stared at her angrily, and if looks could kill; this was definitely one of those looks.

“Did everyone hear that? What a shameless bitch! She cheats on me without an explanation! Can anybody tell me why? We have been in love for five years! Turns out she married someone else without telling me! Making me a fool! For five years, she’s whiter than white and does not allow me to touch her! But then, still, I believe her! Now she got married in such a hurry, she's probably pregnant! She acts immorally! Bitch! She’s gone too far. She’s even trying to make a play for other men in such a dress! And she might hit on her professors just to get high grades!” Vincent said, getting the crowd's sympathy.

But all of them are fools and started to believe what he said. The gossip started to get louder again. Commencing on the issue that they barely know about.

[“Wow, I didn’t expect her to be like this!”

“She’s cold-hearted!”

“After being together for five years, she dumps him at will.”

“Turns out she is pregnant and got married suddenly. What a shame!”

“It’s a shame for a girl to get a shotgun marriage.”

What the fuck is this?! I spent five years with him, I suddenly realize that he is a stranger to me. All is well and good, it’s time to say goodbye!

“Vincent Rivera! You asshole, don’t you dare to come to Kianna!!” Miaree scream. The attention of the crowd turned to her as she marched toward Vincent.

[“It’s Miaree, Kianna’s sidekick! It seems to have another story.”

“Let’s come along for the ride. This girl has a sharp tongue!”]

“What a cheeky beggar! Don’t think we know anything about you and Asteria. You piece of sh*! You are trying to make a fool of us? Besides, you are all single. Now she is married. It’s none of your business, dumbass!!! You are the one who cheats on her. You asshole, a two-timer! Don’t even be afraid of being caught!” Miaree said pointing a finger at Vincent.

“You, you… You get me wrong! Believe it or not, I’m gonna cast aspersions on you!” Vincent was trembling from annoyance.

“Cast aspersions on me? Don’t forget that you don’t have any evidence for everything you just said. Stop talking nonsense!” I said, clenching my fist.

“What… evidence? What are you talking about, Kianna?”

I noticed him swallowing his saliva. He must be scared of my next move. How dare he come here and turned the blame on me when in fact it was him all along, he was the one who cheated on his faithful girlfriend and all I do was love him unconditionally. I never felt betrayed like this in my entire life.

“Feeling scared?...”

I was supposed to get the center of the gossip. However, I saw you walk into your condo…

“Well, you will gonna deny again? I’ll show you what the evidence is!” I said, throwing a bunch of photos in the air.

The students started taking pictures and videos of the pieces of evidence that I revealed. I can see him trembling in fear. How dumb he will be, expecting me to come here that I will not have anything that will prove my innocence.

[“She is indeed a smart woman!”

“Don’t piss a loyal girlfriend! Otherwise, they will expose everything about you!”]

He couldn’t take what he was seeing. He fell to his knees on the floor and bow his head, “No, that’s not true! Listen to me, Kianna…It’s Asteria who hit on me. I was… I was hammered! Yes, I was sh*t-faced!”

“Oh yes you are, dumbass! We already know that, you don’t need to remind us!” Miaree said, smirking.

“Vincent, we have been together for so long, and you actually don’t understand me at all! Do you think I will forgive you for doing such immoral things? One is my boyfriend, one is my stepsister. It’s unbearable! Get out of my sight from now on! You make me sick!” I said while approaching him.

I stared at him for a moment and by that everything just started to flash on my mind, the moment we spent together, the days that I never knew he would do such things, the times that I trusted him fully. All of them started to disappear.

“Security guards, drag him out! He’s messing things up here in the school! If he says no, call the police that he breaks in illegally! We are stuck at the gate by an outsider, everyone is still here even though the classes will start soon!”

“All– right!” one of the guards said and dragged Vincent out of the way.

“Kianna, you will regret this!” He said, screaming at top of his lungs. “F*cking asshole! Get out of my way!”

“Stop making us sick!” The guard added.

“Bye~,” I said while the corner of my mouth curved into a smile. I went inside and as I started walking all of the students also gets back to their respective rooms.

“Shameless asshole!” Miaree murmured, teasing Vincent.
