Chapter 9 Foolish Lies
The hotel room was filled with the light of morning. The sun was shining on their faces when they awoke. They massaged their bleary eyes. There was a pearly glimmer in the sky. Anyone can tell, it was a lovely and bright morning. Clouds moved over the sky, white and fluffy.
“Do you know that I already spend a lot on, Kia? But she doesn’t even let me touch her finger. Not even once. She’s whiter than white,” Vincent said, “You know what, Asteria, You are nicer than your sister, you even let me try it in my office,” he added staring at Asteria.
“You know me so well, honey. Does that mean that I’m the only person you make out with?” Asteria curiously asked.
Vincent was too stunned to respond. He didn’t expect that Asteria would ask those kinds of questions.
“Right, Vincent?” Asteria asked, repeating her question.
“Ye—Yeah, you’re the only one, honey,” He said, lying about the truth.
“If that’s the case, I wanted to ask you something…”
A moment of silence surrounds them for a second. Vincent was a bit nervous but in order for him to cover her nervousness, he smiled at her before saying, “What is it, honey?”
“Have you contacted my sister recently?” she raised a brow.
“No, she doesn’t answer any of my calls. Why is there a problem?”
She grinned, making Vincent more curious about what she will tell him, “Kianna has no idea about us, right?”
“Yeah, why would I let her know?”
“But she married someone else all of a sudden. She wouldn’t get married if she knew that you’re not cheating and you faithfully love her. You get screwed, you dumbass!”
His face went blank and the color drained out of his face, “Married?! No way! I called her three days ago in the morning!”
Asteria scrunch her eyebrows at what she heard, “Didn’t you say you haven’t contacted each other? You are trying to fool me?! My father was going to give me the company as a dowry. If you dare to cheat on me, you won’t get a cent!” she said, furiously while punching Vincents’ arm.
“Asteria, stop! Ouch, it hurts! Honey, it’s my fault! I’m so sorry. I’m not cheating on you. I am your person. Kianna means nothing to me!” He screams.
Asteria rolled her eyes thinking the reason why she made a play for Vincent is not only to get back at Kianna but also to take over the company’s equity in the name of dowry.
Well, you jerk. It’s easy for me to come on to you after you know I can take over the company. Why not use you one more time? Asteria said in her mind and grinned her face slightly show.
“She indeed got married. All the people in the school know about it. They laugh up your sleeve that you are a cuckold. You are now the laughingstock in school.”
“I thought she was pure, and I play with her slowly. I can’t believe she has another man already! How dare she… cheat on me? I will make things difficult for her. I won’t let anyone destroy my pride!” Vincent said, angrily.
He went up from bed and get his phone to call his driver, “I am in the Samara Hotel. Come and pick me up immediately! Now!
-
Kianna was peacefully eating her lunch at the canteen when she suddenly hear a loud voice shouting her name, her face turned curious as her friend suddenly approached her while gasping for air.
“Miaree, what’s going on? How come you are in a hurry and did you know what’s happening outside? I think I heard someone calling my name…”
“That asshole Vincent River is here. It must be that bitch, your step-sister, tell him about your marriage. He’s making a scene outside. The way I see it, he is going to make a big deal out of things, which is not good for both you and the school!” Miaree said, worriedly.
“It’s fine. Don’t worry, Miaree. I’m gonna check it out. I didn’t cheat on him, how dare he makes a scene in here!”
Kianna stood up and went outside to check on what was happening. A lot of students were staring at her while she can hear his loud voice.
“Let me in! I’m here to find someone!” Vincent said but the guards are guarding him so that he can’t get through the gate.
“Sorry, we can’t let you in without a letter from the dean.” The guard said as he keeps on pushing Vincent who is being stubborn at the moment.
[“What’s going on?”
“It is said that Kianna cheated on that guy…”
“Wow, catch someone in bed! I feel thrilled about what will happen!”]
The whispers from the crowd started to get louder. The students make a way as Kianna was walking towards the direction of Vincent. As she was getting closer she stops and stood there, gazing at the guy who cheated on her and make her feel worthless.
“Do you know who I am?! How dare you stop me!” his eyes burned with anger.
“We must keep the school safe no matter who you are! If you keep being cheeky, we don’t have any choice but to call the police and get you arrested!”
*Tap— Tap— Tap— Tap—*
“Wait for a second! Leave it to me. He is coming to me.”
The gossip became increasingly louder as Kianna approached the guards. The guards turned around and gazed at Kianna.
[“The heroine shows up!”
“It’s her! Doesn’t she from section A?”
“Ha-ha, I feel thrilled about what will happen!”
“She looks innocent. Turns out she cheats on this man.”
“I can’t believe it!”
“I heard that they have been in love for so many years now. She is cruel.”]
Vincent stood rigidly under her criticizing gaze, unable to move, more so speak. He hasn’t felt this intimidated until now.
Bitch! You are done! You dare to cheat on me, I’ll kill you! Never can people procure what I fail to gain…
He said in his mind as he just realized that the people were getting on his side he started getting more courage to face Kianna and make a story.
