Chapter 108 The Committee
KIA
The night before last was one of the most taxing nights for me this entire month. It was really difficult to think of names that would be appropriate for the five people who make up my organization. But of course, my two closest pals, Marcy and Miaree, already have those two spots filled up on the roster. There were only three openings left, and it is quite difficult to conceive of pupils who would be an excellent choice for the role given the limited number of available slots.
I have just recently arrived on school, and I was on my way to the dean's office when I heard you were there. I have in my possession the list of members of my group that I was required to hand in to the dean. Before I could make it official, I needed to show it to her first, but I had already informed the students that I had chosen of my decision. I'll tell you what: With the exception of one individual, the majority of them accepted my offer.
"Ms. Saavedra, with all of these names recorded here, are you positive that you have them all correct?" While the dean was perusing the list of names written on the paper, she posed the following question.
"Yes, dean! I've already been granted permission by them! It's only that... some of them... I was the one to respond.
"If this is final, okay, I will now sign it," she said as she grabbed a pen to sign the document. "If this is final, fine, I will now sign it." "I will send a request to every person who was on this list since we require their signature connected to their contract. Please respond to me as soon as possible." In passing, I was wondering if you had previously given any attention to the layout of the conference room at your company. We can get it designed by someone who specializes in interior design. It is something that the school will supply for you. There is no need for you to be concerned about the costs.
"Dean, thank you very much for your offer, but we don't require the services of an interior designer. I already have someone in mind who is going to design it for me."
She couldn't believe what she was hearing and couldn't help but shake her head. "Great! This piece of paper will remain in my possession moving forward. In the event that you continue to have questions or issues, please let me know so that the school can address them. Ms. Saavedra, I have high hopes that you will prove to be an outstanding leader for everyone. I wish you the very best of luck.
After my conversation with the Dean, I made my way straight to the classroom where we were having our session. Even though I'm just a few steps from from the entrance, I can already hear how loud my fellow students are being. Suddenly, as I walked into the room, everything was different. On the spur of the moment, everybody returned to their seats, and Marcy, the class representative for our class, rose up.
"Everyone, be sure to extend your greetings to the Ace!" He issued the command, and in what seemed like a fraction of a second, everybody rose up, dipped their heads before me, and greeted me with "Good morning, Ace."
Wow! I have never before experienced anything even somewhat like to this sensation. I have the distinct impression that everyone holds me in high regard. I simply nodded and motioned for them to have a seat as they entered the room.
"Marc and Miaree, I need to see the two of you in my office right now. Everyone else, please be calm while the professor is still not here. To the students who were assigned to participate in the special project that the dean provided, I am recommending you to do it as soon as possible since, during the next few days, we will begin classifying people according to the level that they are now studying at. "I hope you have a wonderful day!" After that, I spoke my piece and exited the room. I got to my office, and as I was opening the door, Miaree and Marcy charged at me from the other side.
"When you were younger, Kia, you ruled the cool factor!" Marcy exclaimed, completely taken aback by the situation.
"Girl, when I first saw you, you had such incredible strength. Your tone exudes a sense of commanding presence that I can sense. I don't know how to explain it! Miaree added.
After opening the door, I just stood there and grinned at what they were saying to one other. "Stop! I'm going to have to hide my face from you folks.
"Kia, you were obviously meant to be in a position of leadership. Gosh! I never in a million years would have predicted that you would turn out to be like this! Dearest friend, we are overjoyed for you and your success! Marcy replied while squeezing my shoulders and giving me a hard embrace. In addition to this, he asked, "By the way, are we going to hold a meeting right now?"
"Yes, we will, but before that, we still need to wait for the other members of the group to arrive." You make up half of my squad, which consists of five members. There is still some waiting to be done while we await the remaining three members. I said while wearing a thoughtful expression on my face.
I am aware that both of them are interested in learning more about the people that are still around, but I am unable to divulge that information right now. I want to see how astonished they are going to be when they find out which students I picked to be a part of this because I want to see how startled they are going to be.
"Why don't you just call them straight immediately as you did to us?" is a rhetorical question. Miaree asked.
"No, I'm not interested in seeing any of the other departments. That's going to be way too much trouble! I responded before taking a seat on the chair provided for me in the office.
"What?! You elected someone who comes from one of the other departments?!" Miaree inquired with her eyes pleadingly bulging out of their sockets.
"Girl! I can hardly contain my enthusiasm! The conversation was interrupted by Marcy.
"Really?" I broke into a grin and fumbled for my phone before sending a text message to them asking them to come to the office. I followed that up by saying, "I hope you will be able to work with them."
Both of them were completely oblivious to what it was that I was trying to convey. But I didn't offer them any hints since they didn't need them when one of the persons I was waiting for showed up all of a sudden. I was waiting for them.
He questioned his tardiness by asking, "Am I late?"
The expressions that appeared on my two closest friends' faces were absolutely insane. Nathan Zac Ramirez was suddenly standing in front of them, and both of them were taken aback by his appearance.
"What the f**k?! Kianna! What possessed you to pick this guy as your partner? He will not contribute to the improvement of the organization in any way!" Miaree let out a scream of shock at the unbelievable turn of events.
Nate remarked, "It is very great seeing you too, Ishii," as he made his way toward one of the seats to have a seat. "It has been so long," Ishii said.
"I am not pleased to have you here, you Jerk!" Miaree showed a bit of disapproval by rolling her eyes.
"Ladies, try to keep your cool! Because Nathan is such a strong impact on the majority of the female students on this campus, selecting Nathan as our leader would be an excellent choice given the fact that we would find it very simple to adhere to the guidelines he sets. I want to express my gratitude to you, Mr. Ramirez, for making the trip. While I was looking at him, he grinned too, and I couldn't help but return the gesture. "Of course, anything for you, Kia...," the speaker said.
"I hope that all of you will have a wonderful connection with one another, so Miaree, please be nice to Nathan and let me know if that's okay?"
"Well, spending time with Nathan is, without a doubt, the most enjoyable experience I've had so far today..." There was a murmuring from Marcy.
"Yes, I did," the speaker exclaims. I remarked, smiling at Marcy. He was so embarrassed that he couldn't even look in my direction. "All right, we are going to have to wait for the other two members," said the speaker.
A half an hour had gone, and everyone was getting really impatient while waiting, then all of a sudden, the person that I had been waiting for arrived. After getting to my feet, I headed in her direction.
"Everyone! I'd like for all of you to join me in giving Vera a warm welcome to the team! As I brought Vera inside to introduce her to everyone, I made my introductions, and just as I had anticipated, their mouths dropped open when they saw Vera.
"Uhm, are you sure, Kia? There can't be anything else, can there?" When asked, Nate remarked.
"Oh, yes, we are now friends, and I expect her to be the one to offer suggestions and assistance regarding how we may make this space more comfortable. Therefore, ladies and gentlemen, I humbly ask you to kindly treat her with kindness—"
"What did you say, my good friend?! Am I understanding what you're saying accurately, Kianna? As soon as Miaree stood up and pointed her finger in Vera's direction, she went absolutely insane.
"What the devil could be going on, Kianna?" Just what is this, exactly? What's the deal with her hanging out with you?" While Marcy was attempting to stop Miaree, she made the following statement.
"Ladies, you need to take a deep breath. Vera had a transformation for the better, and I pray that people would give her a second chance. Vera was the recipient of my greeting, along with a smile.
"Chance?! Kianna, have you forgotten about what that d*ckhead did to you?! Why are you allowing her to influence you when she knows she can't win? It's evident that she was taking advantage of you because you now have everything, and she relied on you to keep alive! Miaree yelled at the top of her lungs.
I had just about reached the point where I could explain everything to her when suddenly the other person arrived. The timing couldn't be better...
What the f*** is going on?! What exactly are you doing in this spot? The sounds of Miaree and Marcy's voices could be heard across the entire room.
