Chapter 109 The Start
KIA
What the f*** is going on?! What exactly are you doing in this spot? Both of them looked at me with expressions that conveyed a mixture of disbelief and frustration. "Kianna, do you know why those two whores were here?! Gosh! This is incredibly irritating! Miaree was also added.
"Are you deaf and blind? "I won't come here if I am not one of the committee members, you dumbass—"
"Asteria, I don't give a f*ck what you have to say! I am not speaking to your obnoxious snobbery! — Kianna!" Miaree turned her back to me and grabbed hold of my shoulder in an attempt to shake my entire body. "Girl, are you completely out of your mind? Why did you ask them to be on the committee if they weren't qualified to do so?
After escorting Miaree and the others to their seats, I returned to my office chair and turned to face the group as a whole. I'm still able to hear them griping to one another and generally acting like jerks. I was already anticipating that this would take place, but I did not anticipate that it would be to such a disastrous extent.
"Quiet!" I yelled while slamming my table, which caused everyone around me to become incredibly quiet. "I do not want to listen to anything that any of you have to say unless I specifically ask you to. Anyway, I have no doubt that this will take place because I gave it as much thought as I could the night before, and now that you have all met one another in this gathering, I hope that you will all be able to form a strong connection with one another. I picked each and every one of you for a specific reason, and while I am aware that some of you might disagree with my choice, please understand that this is final, and no one will be able to make any changes to it. Since each and every one of you is now officially a member of the committee, you are all now considered to be in the upper tier.
"Really?? Does that mean that I do not need to pass the project because I am already qualified to be part of the high tier?!" Vera asked.
I gave her a slight nod in response to her question, and I noticed that Miaree and Marcy were giving her the cold shoulder. "From a technical standpoint, yes; however, you are still required to earn a passing grade on that project due to the fact that it is a prerequisite. Okay, from now on, each of you will serve as a member of my right hand, and I will delegate individual responsibilities to each of you. But before we get to that, we need to discuss the layout of this office and figure out what kind of aesthetic we want it to have.
"Leave it to me, Kia. I've got it covered." I understand it completely now! Vera stated.
"Why don't you take responsibility for it?! You don't know anything other than to constantly retouch your face because you will not be looking like that without your expensive makeup, Eunice." Miaree remarked while giving a knowing glance to the viewer.
"I cannot tell you how many times I have asked you to refrain from referring to me by my middle name!" Vera got to her feet and glared at Miaree with the finger pointing in her direction.
"I can't believe you have the audacity to point that filthy finger at me!" Miaree became agitated and began to yell while banging on the table.
I simply look at them and make no attempt to stop them, even though Nate appears to be getting increasingly irritated by the fact that they are getting louder. While Marcy was attempting to reassure Miaree, Asteria appeared unconcerned about the situation that was unfolding in front of them.
"How dare I?! "Well, I have every right to point it at your pathetic little face, you puny dwarf!" Vera yelled at him in a furious manner.
"Did you just refer to me as a dwarf?!" the person exclaimed.
"Why?! Isn't it blatantly obvious that...? It's possible that you have dwarfism, but because you can't come to terms with it, you try to keep it a secret from everyone else. However, your condition will always be visible in the way that you look. Hah! Dwarf!" Vera made a funny expression.
Miaree was unable to control herself, and she was about to walk towards Vera's seat when Marcy suddenly stopped her and attempted to calm her down. Miaree was unable to stop herself.
"Girl, you shouldn't squander your time with her... you shouldn't pay any attention to her. Because she has a long face and a sharp chin that can easily slice a watermelon, she is simply envious of your cute, small face. The conversation was interrupted by Marcy.
"What did you just say?!" Vera stood up and was about to run towards them when I suddenly spoke, which brought an immediate halt to whatever they were doing and caused them to stop immediately.
"Enough!" When I shouted, everyone put their weapons down and stopped fighting. While Miaree's attention was still focused on Vera, Marcy made her sit back down in her chair and force her to look away from her. "Is this something that I should anticipate happening each and every time I gather everyone together for a meeting?" After I questioned them, they gave off the impression that they were ashamed of what they had done. Because of what the three of you did, you have caused me to lose ten minutes of my time. Miaree! Marcy! Even though the two of you are some of my closest friends, I don't think it's fair to let the two of you just do whatever it is that you want simply because you have the ability to. I chose the two of you to be a part of the committee because I am aware that you are both responsible students. However, what you just demonstrated to us a short while ago is not what I anticipated from the two of you.... Vera! I gave you the opportunity to be a part of the committee because, for the short time that we spent together while working on the project, I see that you are capable of being a leader because I saw how serious you are about our project, but right now, I don't see the professionalism from what you did... Ladies, could you please stop babbling on about all of this nonsense? Instead, let's concentrate on the things we want to accomplish while we're at this university. We need to cooperate with one another in order to provide appropriate direction to all of the students who are currently outside. We serve as examples for them; do you want those pupils to behave in the same manner as you, two, and one did earlier? Did any of you ladies believe that what the three of you did was acceptable? Answer me!"
"No… We are truly sorry about that, Ace..." Marcy said as he dipped his head and pondered the situation.
"What do you think, Miaree?" "What about you?"
She puckered her lips and looked at me, but I didn't alter the expression on my face and instead maintained a blank expression while I stared at her seriously.
"I really do apologize... It's just that I don't get along with her, and I think you should know that—"
"Yes, I am aware that you dislike her, but I didn't ask you to like her, Miaree. I didn't even ask you to tolerate her." I am requesting of you all that you respect one another and behave courteously toward one another. I am not going to coerce anyone into liking one another, but when it comes to our tasks and responsibilities, I expect everyone to take things seriously and show respect to each other and everyone else in this room. There is no one who is more qualified than others here. There is no hierarchy among us; everybody is on the same footing. Have I ever requested that any of you look up to me as though I were the most important of you all? No, I didn't do that, but I do expect everyone to respect me the same way that I respect each and every one of you. Do you people understand?"
They all responded with "yes, Ace!" and that was the moment when our connection first began to develop.
