Chapter 125 Benefactors

Kianna was under the impression that the surprise had already been revealed until her husband and best friends surprised her with a second party that they had planned.

“Surprise!”

Everyone yelled at the same time as the confetti went off and started flying everywhere. Kianna noticed a long table that was laden with delectable food, and in the center of the table was a large cake that had ten layers. The view is also quite lovely since in front of it you can see the very clean water of the sea, and the light from the round moon is reflected here.

"May you have a wonderful birthday this year! Wishing you a happy birthday on your special day!

During that time, Kianna experienced a range of emotions simultaneously. Due to the fact that she was so taken aback, she was completely oblivious to the fact that Ares was standing next to him and holding a bunch of pink tulips. "This one is for you, honorable. A very happy birthday to you!" Ares greeted Kianna with a cheerful expression on his face as he presented her with the bouquet.

Kianna accepted the gift with tears in her eyes and hugged Ares firmly afterward. After giving her a peck on the forehead, he motioned for her to come inside the house. She was greeted by Marcy who was holding a bouquet of flowers "Beshy, To a buddy who is unlike any other, I hope you have a wonderful birthday! On this, your special day, we hope that we were able to make you happy in some small way. I want you to know that to me, you are not just any old friend; rather, you are my very best friend. I think it's important for you to know that. The influence you've had on my life has been so heartwarming, and it's far more significant than you realize. I hope that you have a long and happy life, and that it is brimming with all of the most wonderful and unforgettable experiences that you can possibly imagine.”

"I am very grateful to you, Marcy..."

Kianna was so overjoyed that she was unable to hold back the tears that began to pour down her face. Following the presentation of the flower by Marcy, it was next the turn of Miaree. She was seen walking about with a little present in her hand. "I hope you have a wonderful birthday, my beloved and most cherished friend. I want to take this opportunity, which falls on your special day this year, to think about how fortunate the two of us are to have one other in our lives and to celebrate that. Because a friendship such as the one we have is so rare and only occurs once in a person's lifetime, it is imperative that we make the most of it if we are fortunate enough to have been bestowed with such a unique and exceptional bond. I will never be able to express how thankful I am to have you in my life. I could search the entire surface of the globe, and I'm still confident that I wouldn't be able to find a buddy who is quite as extraordinary and one-of-a-kind as you are. You are truly one of a kind. You truly do mean everything to me, my best friend, and I appreciate everything that you do. I sincerely hope that today, which is a very significant day for you, will be just as wonderfully special and magnificent for you as you already are. Bestie, I could not be more pleased with what you've accomplished. If only I could give you everything since you are deserving of it all so much. There have been so many challenges for you to face, and you have triumphed over them all; a simple token of my appreciation is insufficient to show how much I value you. Don't fight it; just accept it. I hope you have a wonderful birthday... mm...." Miaree uttered these words while clenching her strong grip on Kianna.

"I am really grateful to you, Miaree!"

"Hi, sis! Before I begin my remarks, I just wanted to let everyone know that the length of this address is going to be significantly longer than any other that you will hear tonight. Okay, so I realize that we haven't been together for that long, but... while I was with you, I could only feel the love that a sister would have for another sister. Given that you already have all of the luxuries and affluence that the world has to offer, I am at a loss as to what I should wish for you on your birthday. I pray that God reveals to you all of those things that are contrary to what you had anticipated. I hope you have a wonderful birthday, my dear sister-in-law! I hope it's filled of laughter! My brother does not miss an opportunity to brag about you, and not even a single day goes by without him doing so. He does everything for you, all he can think about is you, all he cares about is you, all he wants to talk about is you, and all he thinks about is you. I hope you have a fantastic day celebrating your birthday! The celebration of your birthday is the most important event of the year for each and every one of us since it marks the day when you entered our lives and bestowed untold riches upon us. Simply by being in the same room as you, you have the power to completely transform someone's day. To the most adorable sister-in-law, I hope you have a wonderful birthday today!”

Kianna's expression, which included both her eyes and her lips, was one of pure joy. "I am so grateful to you, Jill! This family will be the kind of family that even though we aren’t blood-related, I want to treat all of you special just like how you treat your real family. I know I've already conveyed this to you, but I really do wish for our home life to seem more like a cohesive one. I am overjoyed that you are there since I have never experienced the coziness and affection of a family environment in my own house. I can say with absolute certainty that I only felt those things while I was with you. I have no words... I am completely lost in words. I had no idea that any of this would happen... What should I say? I'm at a loss for words... To tell you the truth, I completely forgot what day it was that I celebrated my birthday. I was under the impression that none of you would truly be familiar with it. It's been a very long time since I've actually celebrated my birthday... I have recently had the opportunity to once more receive something of this nature, and I would want to express my appreciation to each of you, and particularly to Ares... It's my pleasure..." Kianna's eyes grew increasingly watery and she began to shed more tears. Once it began to drip, she found that she was unable to stop it.

"Why are you tearing up? You're making it sound as though we're trying to bully you, hon." Ares made the statement while he was attempting to reassure Kianna. He did so with a reassuringly gentle touch all along her back, "Put a stop to it, you're going to ruin your makeup if you keep like that. Do you want to celebrate your birthday looking like you've been through a battle?" Ares was fooling around and assisted Kianna in drying her eyes while she was crying. She finally stopped sobbing just as a member of the hotel's staff walked through the door. They started the birthday celebration by lighting the candles that surrounded Kianna's cake.

"Quick, go blow out the candles so we can cut the cake, and then tell me what your birthday wish is," the host said. "Happy birthday!" Ares gave Kianna a friendly smile as she approached.

"It seems that if I repeat what I want to happen out loud, it won't come true. Unless you've got it in your head to be the birthday girl or boy." Kianna murmured.

"But before we go any further, I'm curious about your birthday desire..." Ares said, but Kianna paid no attention to him and instead began to contemplate her desire while silently repeating it to herself.

I've asked him to grant my wish, but I'm not sure if he actually intends to.... If that is the case, then I hope that we will never have to be separated again and I may spend the rest of my life with him. I really, really hope that we will be together for the rest of our lives.

"Hon..." Ares stated to Kianna while he was lifting her head with his hand on her chin, "It's already been five minutes. Exactly how many birthday wishes are you counting?"

“I'm not going to tell you because I don't want to give away the surprise.”

Ares soon frowned and acted gloomy as he pondered the situation. Almost quickly, Kianna took a piece of cake in her hand and approached Ares to eat it with her.

Kianna told Ares, "Don't be angry, let me give you some cake," but Ares continued to ignore her. "Let me offer you some cake," Kianna begged again. Because of this, she grabbed some icing and rubbed it on Ares' cheek, which caused him to react in a most surprising way. Kianna gave a guffawing look at Ares while he was speaking.

Ares didn't waste any time and took her hand away from the icing on the cake so he could lick it. "It's pretty nice all things considered. I had a brilliant idea for a more enjoyable manner for you to consume the cake just now, sweetie. Would you be willing to experiment with it alongside me? Ares' lips curved into a mischievous smile as he chuckled to himself.

KIA

The dean of the university called me out of the blue this morning to inform me that the university's benefactors were going to make an unannounced visit. This morning's events were completely unexpected. As a result of the fact that I have been resting for the past few days, I am now in the fortunate position of being able to return to school. That also means that I need to be at the university as early as possible in order to greet the benefactors, but I can't do that alone; I need the committee members there with me, so I immediately message them on our group chat. To our good fortune, each and every one of them has already begun to wake up. I requested that Ares drive me to the university, and when we reached there, I noticed that there were some automobiles approaching the gate; I assume that these people are the donors. Upon arriving at my destination, I wasted no time getting out of Ares' car and rushing into my workplace.

When I got closer to the office, I noticed someone standing in front of the door, and when I got even closer, I discovered that the person was Nate. As soon as he caught sight of me, he started walking in my way immediately.

"Good morning, ace..." he greeted to the person he was talking to.

"This is new! I hadn't seen this before. How did you manage to get here in such a short amount of time? Have you seen Miaree and Marcy?" I asked.

"I was about to leave for my photoshoot when I got your message, so instead I came here to school before I left." I really just got here, and there's only going to be me here." A response was provided by Nate.

"I see…"

"On a side note, I was wondering why you didn't respond to the message I sent you. Didn't you get it in the mail?" When asked, Nate remarked.

"Oh, I'm sorry about that. I wasn't actively monitoring my phone for new messages at that time. Why? What did you send over to me, exactly?

"Nothing. It's hardly even worth mentioning. It's none of your damn business." He added.

I confirmed my understanding with a nod and then headed to the entrance to unlock it. After what seemed like an eternity, the committee was finally through, and I could clearly see how exhausted everyone was.

"I was wondering how everyone was doing. It has been quite some time since I last caught up with you all. How did you do with the work that was assigned to you individually? Have you heard anything new? The very first thing I said after everyone had already finished.

"Ace, I already forwarded the interior design proposal for our office to the dean, and she has already given her blessing to it. I also have her signature in my possession at this time." Vera stated.

"Really? I'm glad to hear that. When is the first day that work will be done on the renovation?"

"As of right now, ace, we have not received any new information regarding that matter." She was the one who responded.

"Alright. The fact that it has already been authorized is, nevertheless, a positive development. In any case, please do send me a copy of the design when you have it." I said and Vera nodded. "What about others? Any update?

“Everything you ordered last week was done, ace,” Nate added.

“Me too, ace!” Marcy said.

“Same!” Miaree added.

A knock on the door suddenly paused our conversation. It was a professor and she wanted us to come with her because the dean was already looking for us. We followed her and went to the conference room. While we were walking, I can see a lot of students waiting for us to arrive. When we arrived at the conference room the dean was already in front. We entered and find some seats. After waiting for a while the benefactors started to enter the room. They looked rich and elegant.

We stood up and welcomed them. “Welcome to the University of Cavite.”

“Alright, let’s start—”

“Wait! Sorry, I am late…” a voice came from behind me. I immediately looked back and I was so shocked to see him here. What is he doing here?! Is he one of the benefactors of this university? This can’t be…
