Chapter 131 Answers I need
KIA
"Kianna, your spouse is the one who has been making you look foolish for the better part of a year now. It's not me."
Nathan reached out and attempted to shake my hand, but I pushed him away. I went back and watched the portion of the video where the MC introduced Ares as the new CEO of the Vueravista corporation. It took me a few viewings, but in the end, I was convinced that what I was seeing was in fact happening. Throughout this entire period, he had been functioning in the capacity of an assistant. Even more amazingly, he permitted me to reside in his modest home. I knew him to be a straightforward individual who led a straightforward life, and as time went on, I learned to admire and even admire that quality in him. However, once it is discovered that everything was a fabrication, everything will come crashing down around them. Does this imply that the individuals who he claimed to be his parents when we first met are not, in fact, his biological parents but rather merely pretending to be them? Or, it's possible that they were his true parents, who pretended to lead a mundane existence despite tolerating their child's scheme to deceive me.... After everything that's happened, I have no idea what to trust...
"Kianna, are you okay?" He inquired with a concerned expression.
I didn't pay any attention to him and reached for my phone right away from where it was stashed in my bag. When I called Ares' number, however, he was not available to take my call.
"Hey… Take it easy..." Nathan murmured as he attempted to prevent me from repeatedly contacting Ares' number while I was in the process of doing so.
"Could you just leave me alone for a second?! At this very moment, I require silence and alone. In that case, kindly... Please let me have some space…" I said while fighting back the tears that were attempting to reveal my true feelings.
When I yelled in Nathan's direction, his pupils became significantly larger. My rage has gotten out of hand and I can no longer control it. At this very moment, my head was brimming with inquiries, and I was in desperate need of some responses from Ares. He was the only person who could explain things in a way that made sense. It's hard for me to accept the fact that all of them have made me look like an idiot. I was under the impression that they were family by this point... I had the impression that they were the sort of individuals that could be relied upon... However, I could not be more incorrect... I should have known better than to put my faith in anyone!
"I really apologize. I just wanted to let you know that I'm concerned about you, Kianna —"
"It is not necessary for you to become concerned about me at this time. I'm perfectly capable of handling things on my own, so please... leave me alone! Now!" I let out a loud shout.
I had anticipated that he would be such a stubborn individual at this time; nevertheless, all he did was nod and bend his head in response. He then turned his back on me and replied, "Yes, ace..." before walking away.
I took my phone out of my pocket and dialed Ares' number once more, but he didn't pick up this time either. I tried calling him several more times. Where can we find him precisely at this moment? What I wouldn't give to have Kyle's phone number... Hold just a second... I can dial the business's number and ask to speak to Ares. After my most recent visit to the Vueravista company, during which I inquired as to whether or not they are familiar with Ares, I was given a business card by that establishment. I quickly grabbed my suitcase and then my money before heading out the door.
Wait!
Is it possible that this is why some of the staff at the Vueravista company didn't recognize him because he acted as a mysterious CEO all of this time?
I'm getting the shivers just thinking about this. I have my doubts about whether or not I will be able to deal with everything. My brain needs some time to comprehend all of the new information that has come in.
I instantly called the number on the business card the moment I discovered it, and waited for someone to pick up the line before continuing.
* Ringing * Ringing * Ringing *
[Picked up sound]
"Hello there, this is the Vueravista Company speaking. How may I help you?" remarked the voice that was coming from the other line.
"Hello... this is— I just wanted to inquire whether or not the Chief Executive Officer is at his office at the moment." I asked.
She then asked me, "I'm sorry, but may I know who this is?"
"I merely needed to determine whether or not the CEO was now present in his office. Can't you just answer my simple question?!" I was powerless to prevent myself from yelling at the girl in the other queue, and I ended up embarrassing myself.
My tolerance for waiting was reaching its limit at this very moment...
"I'm sorry, Ma'am, but I just don't have the ability to provide you with information of that nature. You can provide me with your name if you feel the need to speak with the Chief Executive Officer, and I will do my best to assist you in scheduling an appointment with him."
"There is no requirement for me to schedule an appointment for him. I simply needed to find out where he is because he is not picking up his phone when I call him. Could you kindly inform him to check the messages on his phone? I called him a ton of times, but he never answered any of the calls I made." I requested.
I have a strong suspicion that the woman on the other end of the call was unable to understand anything that they heard from me. She was silent for a short while before she spoke again. It's possible that she was under the impression that I was some sort of deranged old lady who was playing pranks by calling people.
"I'm sorry, Ma'am, but I just won't be able to accommodate your request. Please make an appointment with us so that I may assist you in speaking with the Chief Executive Officer of the Vueravista organization. I look forward to assisting you in this matter." She went back and reiterated the words that she had merely uttered a short while previously.
It seems unlikely that she will respond to the question that I asked. Trying to get some assistance from this woman is a waste of my time, and I should just give up. Is the fact that Ares married a woman who is childless a source of embarrassment for him, and that's why he can't let others know about it? Am I a source of embarrassment for him? Is he really going to keep this up for so long? I need some answers….
"Hello, Ma'am? I was just wondering if you were still there." The woman who was on the other line asked.
"...Oh, absolutely! Just so you know, forget I said anything. I would want to thank you for your time." That's what I said before hanging up the phone.
After quickly gathering my belongings, I exited the building where I was working. As I was walking, I ran into Miaree and Marcy, and the expressions on their faces revealed how perplexed and concerned they are at this moment. I saw this while I was walking.
“Kia? What on earth took place?" Marcy was the one who asked.
Kia, Nate informed me that you are in need of us at this very moment. Is there something wrong going on?" A troubled expression appeared on Miaree's face.
In spite of the fact that I am dying to inform them, I have to ensure that I have a response ready for myself first. I gave them a friendly grin while shaking my head to show my disapproval.
"I'm OK. In any case, as a result of the errands that I have to run today, I won't be able to participate in some of the meetings that have been scheduled. Is it possible for both of you to take the initiative? As soon as I've finished what I'm doing, I'll be right back here. It's not anything serious, just an emergency." I already mentioned.
“Emergency? Did you need some help?" They inquired about it with worry.
“No… It's not a problem for me. I am confident that I can rely on both of you, right?" I inquired while maintaining eye contact with them.
They nonetheless carried out my instructions and filled in for me while I was gone, despite the fact that neither of them had a clear understanding of what was taking place. After I had finished my classes for the day and left the university, I promptly boarded a bus. I can't just sit here and allow the concerns that I have to weigh me down and cause me to slowly sink under their weight. I need some answers right soon, and if Ares cannot provide them to me right now, then I shall be the one searching for answers myself.
