Chapter 135 Twin Heirs
Everyone has been busy preparing for our upcoming wedding. I am here today at the boutique of one of the most famous designers in the country, Mr. Sergio. He was measuring me for the wedding gown I would wear at our wedding. After the measurement, I went with Miaree and Marcy to shop for a dress that we could wear for the celebration after the wedding.
"Look, Kia! Green seems to suit you better. Something that suits your complexion." Marcy said, while holding a simple green dress.
"You know what, I agree with what you said. Actually, I would really choose green and pink to be the themes for all of us. What if we made all the dresses green? And let's make the wedding nature theme. A simple nature wedding?” I was just thinking about it as if my eyes were shining with the idea.
* ringing * ringing * ringing *
I immediately took my phone out of my pocket. It turned out to be a call from my soon-to-be husband, again. I answered it immediately and informed the two that I would just talk to Ares for a moment.
“Hi hon! How are you there? Tell me if you're bored, and I'll kidnap you right there.” Ares laughs.
"You are really crazy! I'm not bored! In fact, we have come up with an idea for our wedding... Nature-themed wedding..."
One month had passed. What a perfect day it was for a wedding with a nature theme! It wasn't that hot either, so it was just right for the occasion on this day! The sun's rays are beautiful. A dream come true indeed. While guests and family members sat down on each side of the walkway leading to the gazebo, a cold breeze from the north rustled through the nearby plants, cooling them. Classical music's sweet harmonies reverberated throughout the audience…
Here I am today wearing a white gown that I never expected to be able to wear after what happened to us, after the trials that came our way. I stopped crying while walking towards the front of the altar, where I met my very handsome soon-to-be husband.
"We are gathered here today in the sight of God and these witnesses to join together Ares and Kianna in holy matrimony, which is an honorable estate, instituted by God since the first man and the first woman walked on the earth. Therefore, it is not to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly, but reverently and soberly. These two people present have come to be joined in this holy estate. Therefore, if anyone can show just cause why they may not be lawfully joined together, let them speak now or forever hold their peace, "said the pastor.
A little later the reading began, "reading from the Apostle Paul, The first letter to the Corinthians, Chapter 13, verses 4 through 7: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts always hopes, and always perseveres. Father, as and pledge themselves to each other, help them and bless them that their love may be pure, and their vows may be true. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.”
"Ares and Kianna, you have come together this day so that the Lord may seal and strengthen your love in the presence of this minister of His word and this community of family and friends and so, in the presence of this gathering, I ask you to state your intentions: Have you both come here freely and without reservation to give yourselves to each other in marriage? If so, answer by saying 'I have.'
"I have." Ares and I said together.
After we vowed to each other and put on the ring, we held hands while closing our eyes while the pastor prayed, "May Jesus Christ, Our Lord, and Savior, always be at the center of the new lives you are now starting to build together, that you may know the ways of true love and kindness. May the Lord bless you both all the days of your lives and fill you with His joy. Amen.”
"Those whom God has joined together, let no man put asunder. In so much as Ares and Kianna have consented together in holy wedlock, and have witnessed the same before God and this company, having given and pledged their faith, each to the other, and having declared the same by the giving and receiving of rings, I pronounce that you are husband and wife. I ask you now to seal the promises you have made with each other this day with a kiss.” Pastor said.
I don't know why I feel nervous now. I faced him and he slowly lifted my veil until my beautiful face shone in his eyes. He was stunned and looked speechless at my beauty. He licked his lips slightly because I suddenly laughed softly. He suddenly pressed my lips with his while I was smiling because I couldn't stop laughing.

After two years and my graduation here we are now, inside the four corners of this room. A woman was in front of me looking at the monitor while Ares was at my side and had been like a restless dog. It is so awkward because everyone came to witness this special moment in my life.
“Doc, would you please do it already? I can’t wait to see if it’s a girl or a boy!” Dad said.
Before everyone complains whether why dad is here let me take you back to that moment for you to understand.

It’s been a tiring month since our wedding. We started again from scratch and planned everything for our future together, without lies. Everything was back to normal, but suddenly a loud knock on the door caught my attention. I was about to go and open the door when suddenly, Ares immediately volunteered.
“Who was it, hon?” I shouted while I was washing the dishes. I wiped my hand with a towel and looked at my back and saw the first man who broke my trust and my heart.
“Kianna, my daughter…”
I accidentally dropped the towel when I saw Dad in front of me. Ares is nodding at me from behind, indicating that I should go talk to my father.
“W–what are you doing here?”
“I’m here to apologize for everything I have done… I was blinded by what I thought was love. I never thought that it was the one who would ruin everything. Your stepmom was already in jail—”
“Jail? Why is she in jail?” I asked, curiously.
He took a deep sigh, “Your stepmom was the reason for your mom’s accident. She planned it from the very beginning. I thought your mom left me for a man, but I was wrong... It was your stepmom’s plan to make her believe that we have a relationship. She was my secretary back then, and when your mom left me, she was the one who was there to comfort me and feed me with lies, which led me to despise your mom. Then something happened to us, but after that happened, I eventually got back to my conscience and went back to you... but after a year, she just suddenly showed up with a baby girl. It was Asteria. I’m so sorry, sweety... I ruined our life…”
“...Yeah… you did ruin everything, dad—but you know what? After all these years that I was trying to make you believe that they were just up to something, I realized that you were just acting like that because you were longing for love and you didn’t want to be left by someone you love again. That is why you treat them well and forgot about me…”
He just fell to his knees and his tears began to fall, “I’m so sorry… I was fed with lies and believed that Asteria was mine…”
“What do you mean??”
He raised his head and looked me in the eye, “Asteria wasn’t mine, sweety. She is not your sister. Your stepmom couldn’t bear a child, and when she knew it, she made a plan to make me believe that I impregnated her. I am so dumb to believe it for years…”
“How did you—how did you know about that?”
“Asteria got into a car accident after driving while she was drunk. She needed blood right away and when I volunteered as her donor, that was when everything was revealed in front of my eyes. She is type AB+ and since we couldn’t find an available donor for her, she eventually died—”
“Died? Asteria is dead?” I was caught off guard. I didn’t know how to feel. Should I be happy that she was finally gone or should I be sorry for her for being part of her cruel’s stepmom plan…
“I immediately started looking for your stepmom, but she had already left, so I reported her to the authorities. After a week, I got the news that she was caught after trying to leave the country using a different name. The authorities interrogated her, and that’s when the whole truth came out… But you know what? I didn’t mind if Asteria wasn’t mine. I took care of her and loved her as my own, but now she was gone… I already lost you… and now she was taken away from me… I don’t have anyone anymore…”
“Oh, dad…” I walked closer to him and hugged him so tight. “I didn’t leave you. I was just here, waiting for you to notice me again—”

"Twins? Are you sure, Doc?” Ares stammered in disbelief.
"Yes! And it's a girl... and... a boy! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Vueravista!”
I was quickly overcome by my emotions and immediately burst into tears at the most wonderful news I have ever heard in my entire life. Finally, Ares and I have been blessed with babies, and not just one but two! The rightful heir of the Vueravista and Saavedra company… We all want good things; a nice car, a nice house, nice shoes, and nice clothes. But for me, I only want one good thing, and that is a complete and happy family.
“Mom! Kelsey bit me!”
I took a deep sigh and closed my eyes for a second, “Kelsey! Kevin! I won’t let you visit your grandparents this weekend if you both won’t stop fighting!” I shouted and was about to go to my children when someone suddenly pulled my waist.
Ares placed his nose close to my neck and smelled it, “My wife is bloody mad again…”
