Chapter 19 Press Conference

I was walking on my way to the parking lot. I heard some voices behind me, so I rushed towards a car and hid there. When I was assured that they had already passed by. I immediately stood up and continued walking, but then someone suddenly grabbed my arm and forced me to enter a van. I tried to fight it and save myself, but then he was too strong.

"Calm down!"

"Nathan?! What are you doing here?"

"Well, hello again, Kianna Myst Saavedra. I am here to talk about the rumors that were circulating around the campus. I thought we agreed that no one would ever know about what happened in that restroom, but then you tricked me. You changed the story, and now everyone believes that lie!"

He continues to hold my arm, and as time passes, his hold becomes tighter. Furiousness filled his eyes. He seemed so furious with me that he might have wanted to kill me.

"It's not me! It's not me who spread that shitty rumour!"

He stared at me seriously. "What do you mean? Then who does it?"

"It's Vera Eunice Ventura…"

He stayed quiet for a while and seemed to be thinking deeply. The rumors must stress him out, but I can't blame him. The things that were happening also caught me off guard.

"I heard that you talked with the dean. What did you talk about? Is she already doing something to resolve the issue?"

"Vera was also there. She kept on making stories to the dean, and luckily the dean decided to investigate first before throwing some punishment at us. By the way, I kept my promise that no one would ever know what happened that day in the restroom. I changed the story. I said that I was having pretty bad cramps that day and that's why I decided to go to the restroom. But on my way to the restroom, I suddenly stumbled and you helped me. I said that you offered to help buy me sanitary napkins and then that's it. So if ever the dean decides to question you, make sure that our story matches, okay?" I raise my eyebrows, waiting for him to answer.

"You never break our agreement… That's great to hear. But, I need to know about that girl who spread false rumours. Who is it again? Kendra?"

"Vera. She's Vera Eunice Saavedra. She claims that she is a campus crush. You don't know her?"

He simply glanced at me in shock as he shook his head. "If she's a campus crush, then why didn't I know her? What a self-proclaimed campus crush…"

"Well, I don't have any idea and I don't want to know the reason. Anyway, I need to head home. I don't want to die here because of your die hard fans!" I said and was about to leave, but he immediately stopped me.

"I am doing a press conference inside the campus. We are just waiting for it to get ready so that we can start already. I want you to be there to help me clear our name. Those fans will not stop attacking you if you keep on silent."

I was about to refuse when someone suddenly knocked on the door.

"Yes?" Nate asked.

"Everything is ready. Let's go. You only have ten minutes to do this." The pretty woman said.

"We will be there," Nate said before closing the door. She held my hand and stared into my eyes. "You don't have to say anything if you are afraid to talk. I am not forcing you to defend yourself. I just want everyone to see you and to clarify things easily. Will you cooperate with me?"

Do I have a choice to turn down his offer? If I refuse, I know he will drag me outside and keep me behind him while doing his press conference, so...

"Let's do it!"

We got out of the car and headed inside the building. We went to the gymnasium and I was shocked to see his die hard fans waiting for us. They were gossiping so loudly that I already knew the topic of their conversation. As we got up to the stage, his fans started screaming and throwing some objects at me. I was lucky that Nate was there to act as my cover.

His secretary approached him and gave him the mic. He pointed to a spot for me to stand, so I stood there, not being ready to get hit by those things that they keep on throwing at me. But then a minute passed by and no one threw anything at me. I guess I'm lucky?

"Nate! Is it true that she is your girlfriend?"

"Is it true that you two make out in the girls' restroom?"

"If it's not true, then why is she here with you?"

"Nate! Nate! Nate!"

They started to ask a lot of questions. Nate signed her hand to make everyone quiet, and surprisingly, they followed him and stayed quiet.

"Everyone, I want to clarify everything that is spreading everywhere. In this world, some incidents cannot be explained clearly. However, it does happen for a reason. That woman…" he said, pointing his finger at me. "The mysterious girlfriend you are talking about met me for the first time that day. She is just a simple student here who was having her period cramps that day, and because I am generous enough, I helped her. Out of sympathy, I gave her my coat and bought sanitary pads for her at the mall. A lot of people saw me buying a sanitary pad that day. If you don't believe it, you can check the mall surveillance camera. I, Nathan Zac Ramirez, am single and innocent."

He ended his speech and took a glance at me. I can see that he slightly grinned at me before giving the microphone to his secretary.

"So, that's how it is. It does make sense."

"I knew from the very beginning that he was very nice and a gentleman. How could he have a girlfriend!"

"Nate is so gentle, I am in love with him!"

"Who is that bitch making up stories about Nate?! I will kill her!"

After the press conference I immediately rushed my way home. "I'm home!"

"Hi, hon! Dinner is ready, which do you wanna eat first? Dinner or me?"

Is he joking? Well… let's choose!

Dinner of course! I am starving to death!

Ares looks so hot in his apron… maybe eat him first?

Both!

I shook my head and punched him.

"Bastard!"

"I am just kidding! Come on, let's have dinner." He said while laughing.

We headed to the dining table and I was amazed to see some delicious food.

"Wow, it looks delicious! Did you cook everything?"

He nodded, "Here! Eat this!"

"It's good to have dinner after coming back from school! Thank you, hon…"

"You're welcome! What's up? Are you exhausted? What did you do today in school?"

"Well, I just needed to take care of things. But it's all good now. Anyways, have you heard of the Vueravista Company? I heard from Miaree that Vueravista Company is making the life of the Rivera Family a living hell. It has been on news recently, even their mysterious CEO of the Vueravista Company has become a hot topic!"

I was waiting for him to give some comments but he stayed quiet so I continued. "And then I remember! Don't you just work in the Vueravista Company? Have you ever met their mysterious CEO?"

I scratched my head while listening to her. Of course, I have seen the CEO. He is right in front of you, hon!

"No. He always takes the Vip elevator. Ordinary staff like me, can't see him at all… Hon, could it be that—" I act like I was about to cry. "That… You're really interested in that kind of CEO type?"

She stood up and waved her hands, "No! That's not my type! I'm just curious and to be honest, I prefer a gentle person like you!"

Got ya! I grab her hand and give it a kiss, "I know that you like me!"

"Wh-what?! You are misunderstanding things! That's not what I meant!"

"Whoops, you blushed!" I said jokingly.
