Chapter 12 Aspen and Angela
Aspen POV
Angela is a nervous wreck at the thought of someone owning her. I would not expect her to bow down to me. It would not be like that. I would own her as far as the vampires and wolves were concerned. It would keep her protected. Now, the only problem is how I will accomplish all of this. I have to protect her.
I look at her beautiful sweet face. She is in an emotional overload. I reach for her and touch her upper arm. She falls into my embrace. Draco blows out the air in aggravation. He does not have time for emotions right now. His only concern is getting his sister home to his family. I cannot imagine how he feels right now. Actually, I know how he feels.
“We really do not have time for this right now,” Draco says to both of us. He glares at us.
Angela rolls her eyes at him. Draco rolls his back at her. I hope these two do not start arguing. I guess, considering they are almost like siblings, it could happen. “Look, Angela, I realize you have been through a lot and have found out a lot about yourself, but we need to focus on the auction and making things right. I need your help tonight, okay,” Draco says.
Angela shakes her head and lays into me. “I need you two to cool it. I do not need all this energy while I am trying to work. You both are making me uneasy,” Draco says.
“Okay, then. Draco, I have to ask. What will happen after the auction? I mean, you get her back, then what? Can she just go back to her life? Hell, can I go back to school or back to my life?” Angela asks.
Draco huffs again. I know he is irritated with her. Much like you would be annoyed with a younger sibling. She is worried, confused, and asking a lot of questions. “Well, Angela, she will go into hiding for a while. Just like you will have to for a time. I honestly do not know. I am only getting started with this shit. I want to close these auctions down. That is the ultimate goal, but for now, all I can do is try to help people get their family members back,” Draco says.
Angela moves closer to the computer. “So, are we helping other women in this auction or just Deanne and myself?” Angela asks. She is so curious. Her brain works in a way I have never seen before in a woman. She wants to know everything. Of course, it was her curiosity that got her in trouble in the first place. I love this thirst for knowledge.
“Come here and look. There are two more hybrids on the list. We are going to get them one way or another and help them get back home. If we do not get them, their lives will be hell at the hands of the vampires,” Draco says to Angela.
“I get it. What you are going through is hard, Draco. I am sorry I interfered. I love Deanne, and I was concerned for her. You could have just told me,” Angela says.
“Well, you have been hardheaded all your life. I doubt telling you would have changed the outcome of this predicament,” Draco says.
I sit back and watch Draco. He is pecking away on the keys of his computer and watching the auction. He is focused and determined to win Deanne, Angela, and the other hybrids he is trying to help. What he is doing for these women is incredible.
Angela is troubled. I know this entire situation is not suitable for her. Nobody wants to be owned by another person. I watch her facial expressions as she watches Draco pecking away and working on the auctions. “This is all too much. It is heartbreaking, sad, and just fucking disgusting,” Angela says.
“No worries, no matter what, I will not let anything happen to you,” I say to her.
My encouraging words make her smile. “We need to be ready in case I do not win these auctions. A nasty bastard is fighting me for Deanne. He really wants her. I cannot lose my sister. I do not even want to think about why he wants her. He wants her for breeding, I am sure of it,” Draco says.
“What do you need from me?” Aspen asks.
“Grab my cell, send out an SOS you will see it on the contact list. Just type 911. It will go out to the other vampires willing to help,” Draco says.
“Got it,” I say. I grab Draco’s cell phone and scroll to SOS. I select to send a message and type 911.
“You get it?” Draco asks.
“Yes, it is done,” I answer him.
“It looks like this bastard is getting my sister. I won, Angela. I will sign her over to you when I get her paperwork. The other two I am still working on at the moment,” Draco says, still pecking away on the computer.
“See, everything will be okay. We will get Deanne, and everything will be okay,” I say to Angela. She nods her head and then lays it on me and begins to cry. She sobs uncontrollably for a few minutes and then pulls herself back together when Draco gives her the evil eye.
“Sorry, this is just a lot for me. I will be okay. I am trying to sort through all of these emotions,” Angela says.
“At least you are safe. We will have to work at it to get Deanne before they try to breed her. She cannot be bred with a wolf. It would kill her, ” Draco says.
“I do not understand why they want to breed her,” Angela says.
"To make women like you. You are special, Angela. Some day you will tap into that power you have, and it will blow you away. You have the strength of a vampire, the ability to shift like a wolf, and all the powers of a fairy. You are truly something unique," Draco says.
Draco looks at his computer and then slams it shut. “I got the other two. They will be delivered here by Craig and his band of idiots. Do not freak out. They will be in boxes, and I have to act like a real jackass when they come. They have to think I want the same thing they want. I will have them put the women in the basement. After they leave, we will free them from the boxes and tell them we are going to help them,” Draco says.
“I can help you,” Angela says.
Draco hugs Angela. “Listen, it would help me a lot if you would help them, love. They will be scared. We have no idea what they have been through before they were auctioned. They will be terrified. They will cry and scream. More than likely, they will arrive drugged out of their minds. If you can stay with them while Aspen and I go after Deanne, that would help me a lot,” Draco says.
“Whatever you need, Draco. Thank you for all of this. I am sorry I got in the way,” Angela says.
“I have a housekeeper and cook. They will take care of food and the cleaning. All I need is you to let them know they are safe. They can pick out clothes and shower upstairs. If there is something they need, my housekeeper can go into town and get it. The most important thing is for them to feel safe and stay hidden until their family can come for them,” Draco says.
“Okay, I can handle that,” Angela says.
“They will be here in a few hours. I need you to go upstairs and stay out of the way when they arrive. You can help me release them from the boxes after the vampires leave. It will be probably less terrifying for them if you are there,” Draco says.
“What about Deanne? When will you go get her?” Angela asks.
“Aspen and I will leave tonight after the women are settled. This guy that got her is just over the bridge. A wolf got her, so we need to act fast but be smart. Deanne is smart. She will be okay. I just need to get there before he tries to breed with her. That is an entirely different disaster that we do not need to deal with tonight,” Draco says.
The fear in Draco’s face is hard to see. I know he is afraid for his sister, but he will never say it out loud. He has done this many times but never has he had to rescue his own from the clutches of the auction. This rescue will be more challenging than the others for him. Do not fret, Draco; we will save Deanne from the wolves.
