Chapter 13 Rescuing Tia and Fia
Angela POV
The commotion outside is frightening as a massive truck pulls up into Draco’s driveway. A handsome man is directing the others as the women are unloaded from the truck. The man is definitely a vampire. He looks well put together, not rugged like the wolves. His dark hair and nice suit make him look normal, but there is something evil in him. I can see it from here.
He stands at the end of the van, barking at the other vampires. He grabs one of the boxes and shakes it. One of the women is obviously more terrified of him than the other. Or he just likes to pick on that one. He grabs one of them by the hair and tugs at her hair. She screams as he pulls some of her hair out. He releases the hair onto the ground and laughs.
The other woman screams for him to leave her alone. He is infuriated. He yells at the vampire holding the box to stop. They set her down. He goes into the van and grabs a long object. He yells at the other vampires to set the other box down. Now the boxes are sitting on the ground facing each other. He begins hitting one of the women with the long object over and over. She yelps with every strike.
The man looks up into the window. He smiles an evil grin at me that makes me jump out of my skin. He is a vampire devil. I step back from the window. I cannot imagine how the women are feeling being brought here. Those poor women carted around in boxes by that devil. It has to be terrifying. They think they are about to be bred and used for sinister purposes. Lucky for them, Draco saved them. They will soon reunite with their families.
I wait for an hour before I attempt to peek out the window again. I do not want to see him again, the vampire devil. I only want to know if they are gone yet. I take a deep breath and walk over to the window to take a peek. I hold on to the window and move the curtain out of my way. There he is, waiting for me to look at him. He waves at me, the vampire devil. He gets into his truck as he continues to look at me.
Aspen comes into the room as I am looking out the window at the vampire devil. He comes up behind me, and I jump. “That man is hitting those women and pulling out their hair. Who is that devil?” I ask Aspen.
“That is Craig; his wife is worse than him. They are both vile pieces of work. She is a hybrid, and he is a vampire. They are heavy in these auctions. His wife tortures them and does things that would make your skin crawl,” Aspen says.
“I do not want to meet her. Maybe Draco can kill them both. He was looking at me all crazy. It made me nervous,” I say.
Aspen spins me around to face him. He brushes my hair out of my face. “He was asking about you too. He found you intriguing,” Aspen says.
“That disgusts me. I did not find him intriguing. I find him repulsive,” I say.
“Me too. Come on, and we need your help. One of the women is sick. Draco needs you to help calm the other so he can help the sick one,” Aspen says.
I take his hand and walk out of the bedroom to the stairs. “This will not be easy. I have seen these boxes before, and you have not, so it will be hard to look at initially. Just reassure them we are here to help. Draco can link to their mind, some sort of vampire mind trick. He will try to calm them. Since you will be helping them while we are gone, they need to trust you until their family arrives for them. The one girl is very drugged and sick, so be prepared. Show emotion and sympathy but do not let this bother you to a point it makes you sick and gives you nightmares,” Aspen says.
I stop at the door to the basement. I can hear the women crying and Draco talking calmly. “They are afraid,” I say.
“Of course, they are afraid. Imagine what they have been through waiting to be auctioned and then put in a box and transported here with that vile man. You saw how he was treating them while you were looking. Imagine what he did when no one was watching,” Aspen says.
I take a deep breath and prepare myself. I need to be emotionally available and sympathetic but not let this bother me. I am here for them. I can do this.
“I am ready,” I say.
I walk down the steps into the basement. Draco is speaking so calmly. I have never heard this side of him before today. He has always been kind to me, but this is different. Maybe I do not know him at all. I can hear a genuine concern in his voice.
When I get to the bottom of the steps, I can see the boxes up close and personal now. I begin to cry but quickly wipe away my tears and pull myself together. I have to help them. I have to be strong for them.
“Angela, this is Fia and Tia. They are hybrid sisters. Tia needs your help. Fia is sick, and I will be taking care of her,” Draco says. He is trying to soothe Fia. He touches her head and speaks softly to her. Her eyes are fixed and unresponsive. She looks lost in herself.
“Please do not hurt my sister, please,” Tia says.
“We are going to help you. No one here will hurt you, I promise,” I say calmly.
I touch Tia’s head and then her hands that are sticking out of the front of the breeding box. “We are going to release you and get you back to your family,” I say in almost a whisper.
“Please, do not hurt Fia; you can have me. She has been through enough. Please leave her alone. You can breed me,” Tia says, crying.
I kneel in front of the box. “I am like you. Draco and Aspen here are both here to help. You are not a prisoner. We are going to release you from the box. We just need you to remain calm so that when we do, you are not hurt. Okay,” I say to Tia.
Tia shakes her head that she understands. Fia is so out of it that Draco cannot seem to link with her. He speaks to her calmly, but she is too drugged to come back to her senses. Draco moves over to Tia and touches her head. He peers into her mind, and she relaxes almost immediately. It is like she now wholly understands what he is doing for her and her sister.
Aspen and Draco begin to work to free Tia from the box. She is covered in bruises and whelps. What did that vampire devil do to her before he brought her here? When she is free, Draco wraps her in a towel. “I am going to release your sister, but I need you to go with Angela upstairs, okay,” Draco says calmly.
Tia rushes over to Fia. “I do not want to leave her. She needs to know I am here for her,” Tia says.
“I promise you that I will be right behind you with her. I will carry her up to your room. Go with Angela so I can help Fia,” Draco says.
“Take her upstairs, Angela,” Aspen says to me. I look over at Fia. She does not look well. I am afraid they are getting Tia out of the room because they think something terrible has happened to Fia, and they do not want Tia to freak out.
“Come with me, Tia. You can take a shower and change clothes. Draco will bring your sister, okay,” I say to her.
She reluctantly follows me up the stairs. Her legs are weak from the drugs and being in the box. She holds on to me as we reach the top of the stairs. “She is sick, isn’t she? Will she die?” Tia asks me.
“I do not know, but Draco and Aspen will take care of her, I promise,” I say.
“She was fighting Craig. He is so evil. He gave her a lot of drugs. He wanted her for himself. His wife beat us and tried to do horrible things to us. There was another woman there that would hit us too. She really hated Fia. I am afraid for her,” Tia says.
I let Tia lean into me as we climb the stairs to the bedrooms. She is sobbing for her sister. I know how she feels. I hurt for Deanne.
