Chapter 18 Rescue
Draco Pov
Aspen and I watch as the vampires unload the van. They take Angela and Tia into the house in the breeding boxes. He is a nervous wreck watching Angela, the woman he loves, unloaded and taken into the house as a breeder. I know the pain is unbearable for him. He loves her; I can see it. I am happy Angela found Aspen and that she knows about her family now. Maybe the two of them will be happy together.
Jeb and his vampires put on one hell of a show. He yells at Angela and Tia as they go into the house. Jeb is good at this. He hates the auctions almost as much as I do. His sister is a human. She was taken by a wolf and auctioned to Craig several years ago. When Jeb got his sister back, she was a shell of the woman she once was before Craig got a hold of her.
Craig kept her for years. The things he did to her were horrific. Craig and his wife wanted a baby, but she could not have children. She offered Jeb's sister a lot of money to have her baby, and when she would not comply, she vowed to get her back. That bitch plotted and skimmed until she got what she wanted.
Craig's wife had Jeb's sister kidnapped and waited for her to land in the auction. When she did, Craig bid on her. Now, Jeb's sister was at her mercy to give her whatever she wanted. Jeb tried to buy her back from Craig. Ultimately, Jeb hired someone to get her back from Craig. No one knows where she is now. Jeb keeps her hidden. I saw her when she first came out of Craig's. She was frail skinny, and terrified of everything.
Aspen and I are ready to go in to get the women and bring my sister home. We cross the grounds slowly, watching for security or traps. The wolves and vampires often set traps on their property. If a woman escapes, they might step into a bear trap, fall into a deep hole, or worse. I have found dead bodies of women. They were left in traps to keep others from trying to escape.
"We could just go right through the front door," I say to Aspen.
He looks at me, puzzled. "How the hell are you going to get them to open the door?" Aspen asks me.
"Well, I was thinking I would just knock on the door," I say to him.
He shakes his head. "You are a crazy mother fucker, Draco," Aspen says to me.
"Crazy, yes, but I want my sister back. I want Tia and Angela out of there in one piece," I say.
"Well, then, you just tell me what we are doing," Aspen says.
Several vampires join us as we make our way across the grounds. We can see the house and the basement lights. The back part of the basement is dark. "Where it is dark right there. That is where the breeders will be. They always keep them in the dark. The women do not fight as much if they cannot see. It makes them compliant," Aspen says.
"We will send a few vampires down there, and we will take a few through the front door," I say.
"Sounds good," Aspen says.
"Hey, you four go to the back basement door. Be careful, and my sister is down there," I say to the four vampires coming up behind us.
The four nod and speed past us to the back of the house. If they can get the women out, then Aspen and I can kill some wolves. "The rest of you come with us," I say to the remaining vampires.
Jeb's vampires follow Aspen and me through the grounds to the front door. "So what you just going to knock and say? Can I come in?" Aspen asks.
"Something like that," I say to Aspen with a laugh.
"You really are nuts," Aspen says.
We walk to the front and go right up to the front door. There are windows along the front. "I say we just go right through that fucking window," I say to Aspen and the vampires.
The vampires look at each other and then smash the windows. They fly in the windows fast before the wolves even know what is happening. Aspen and I follow. The wolves start coming into the front room of the house from every direction. Aspen takes his wolf form and begins growling and biting at the other wolves.
I rush past all of the fightings at vampire speed. The wolves cannot catch me as I run past them. I rush around, trying to find an entrance to the basement. I finally find the door. It is locked tight with several locks. I start breaking the locks one by one until I am able to get into the basement.
I go down the steps. It is dim, but there is light. Tia is chained to a wall. I start freeing her. "Are you okay?" I ask her.
"Yes. Angela went to find Deanne," she says.
When I get her off the wall, she rushes for the breeding box on the floor. There is a woman trapped in the box. "Are you going to free her?" I ask.
"No, this bitch tried to assault Angela. She beat me, and now this bitch is going to pay," Tia says.
She grabs the paddle off the wall and starts hitting the woman with it. The woman screams out in pain as Tia violently attacks her. I stop Tia. "This is not good for you; let it go," I say to her.
"She is the master of the house, Draco. She deserves to die," Tia says.
I take the paddle from Tia, and with one violent blow, I kill the woman. "Now, do you feel better?" I ask her.
"Yes," Tia smiles at me.
"Woman, you are wicked," I say to her.
"Angel went into the darkness looking for Deanne," Tia says.
I look into the darkness. There are boxes everywhere. "If she taps into her vampire abilities, she will be able to see in the dark," I say.
"She was not afraid. She fought that stupid bitch like a champ," Tia says.
"Come one, let us find Angela and Deanne," I say.
We walk into the darkness. Tia stays right on my heels. I can hear the vampires fighting with wolves in the back of the darkness. I cannot see exactly what is going on yet, but there is definitely a fight in progress.
"Stay close to me," I say to Tia.
"No worries, I will be right on your heels, Draco," she says.
We stop at the first box we come to and open it. The woman is weak. "Do you think you can get some of these women out of here after I open the boxes?" I ask Tia.
"Yes, I can do it," Tia says.
I run around at my vamp speed, opening as many boxes as I can. "If you will all help each other. You are free. Go toward the back. The vampires will help you out the back," I say to them.
Tia takes over and starts leading the women out the back. The fighting has died down. I only hear a few punches or groans coming from the wolves. Aspen comes down the steps and into the darkness.
"Where is Angela?" he asks as he comes toward me in the darkness.
"I have not found her yet," I tell him.
We keep walking toward the back. I hear sniffling coming from a corner. Aspen and I go toward the crying and sniffing. It is Angela and Deanne. Angela is holding Deanne. There is a dead wolf beside them, and Angela is covered in blood.
"I killed him. He was hurting her. I bit him. I fucking bit somebody and killed them," she says. She is traumatized.
I take Deanne out of her arms. She is still alive. "You did good," I say to her. Aspen picks her up and carries her out of the basement. I carry Deanne.
"Draco," Deanne whispers.
"Yes, sister, it is me," I say.
"She saved my life," Deanne whispers to me.
"I know she did. She came here with me to make sure you come home," I tell Deanne.
Deanne falls asleep as I carry her out of the basement. She is naked, cold, and frail. I carry her to the van. I wrap her in a blanket. Angela and Tia are huddled together with Aspen wrapped in a blanket.
Angela is shaking. Aspen tries to comfort her. "I killed someone," she keeps repeating over and over.
"He deserved it, Angela," Tia says.
Jeb stays behind to get all of the women out and somewhere safe. A few vampires leave with Aspen and me to keep a watch at my house just in case the wolves try to retaliate.
