♥ CHAPTER THIRTY''SIX♥
Elisabeth.
Five years later.
My eyes feel very heavy and it bothers me a lot. I scramble on the bed and finally manage to open them, immediately irritating them with the glare. I take several deep breaths and try to open them again, this time managing to stare at the white ceiling.
I died? Where am I?
I blink a few times to try to get used to the brightness, and look around, realizing that I'm in what looks like a hospital room. Why am I here? Where are the boys?
I hear the door open and I look to the side, finding a nurse carrying an auxiliary cart with a small IV and a few other instruments, and, as soon as she faced me, she gave a loud scream, which made me close my eyes due to the pain. in my head.
'' My God! You finally woke up. she says, all euphoric. '' I'll be right back!
He quickly left the room, leaving me completely alone again. I sigh and feel my throat extremely dry. I'm dying to drink water and eat something delicious, my stomach is hurting from hunger. Once again the door opens, and a man who I think is the doctor looks at me in surprise.
“My God, this is a miracle. He gives a small smile, leaving me confused. "What do you mean, miracle?" What's going on here? “Can I have your full name, miss?”
I shook my head.
“My name is Elisabeth Sophia Carter. I reply in a low tone.
He nods.
“What do you remember?” '' Question.
I look down at my hands and close my eyes, trying to remember why I'm here. Slowly, I remember that I was halfway up the stairs and I heard someone call my name. Soon, I see Alex and a shadow behind him, the same one that terrified me that day. She was saying things and so was Alex, startling me so badly I suddenly felt my body roll down the stairs.
My eyes widen as I remember the accident.
“Miss Carter?” '' I blink a few times and go back to face the doctor, who has a worried expression.
“II…I fell down the stairs,” I reply, making him nod.
Sigh.
“Where are the men who brought me here?” “I'm sure it was the boys who rescued me.
“Oh, they always come to see you when the year turns.
I look at him scared.
'' As? One year? How old am I here? I ask.
'' You, when you were in the accident, lost a lot of blood and also had a cardiac arrest,‖ he says, and my breathing hitches. “We managed to bring you back, the surgery was a success, but you fell into a coma.
I'm shocked. I can't think straight and I suddenly feel dizzy.
“Hey.” He comes quickly to my side. "Breathe, come on, breathe with me." “I follow your rhythm. “That's right.
Five years? I spent five years in a coma? Tears stream down my cheeks.
"I''I''I... I''I can't feel my legs right, Doc," I despair.
“That's completely normal, you spent five years in a coma and your body kind of rusted, but don't worry. You will receive physical therapy treatment and soon you will be able to walk again. We'll also run some tests, it might take a few weeks for you to leave here fully recovered, so don't worry.
I nod, still with tears in my eyes.
"I''I''I'd like to see you, Doctor."
“Okay, miss. I'll let them know that you've finally woken up. Do you want anything else?
'' Water.
Soon the doctor agrees and hands me a glass, helping me to drink. In the end, I drink six glasses of water.
'' This is enough?
'' Yes. I reply, my voice feeling softer than before.
'' Very good. I'll have your food brought out, because you're probably hungry, am I right?
I nod.
'' Yes, very hungry.
'' Right. Try not to try too hard''and so he leaves the room.
I stare at the ceiling again, letting out a sigh.
Five years…
What did they do while I was in a coma? Did they find anyone? I miss them a lot and want to see them as soon as possible. I would love to see how your faces are, feel your kisses '' not now, eh, because of the bad breath. Five years without showering or brushing your teeth is pretty fucked up.
I close my eyes, trying not to think about negative things. I hear the door open and see another nurse carrying a tray. She is very pretty and young, she must be twenty''five years old, she is tall like a model, has red hair and her eyes are light blue.
'' Hello. he says, snapping me out of my analysis.
“Hello,” I reply gently, giving her a small smile.
“I brought your food and I'll help you feed yourself.” She helps me sit up by tilting the bed and places the tray in front of me. '' How it feels?
“Well, I can't say for sure, but I think I'm fine.
She giggles and starts feeding me. The food is too good to be from a hospital, I don't know if it's because I haven't eaten in a long time or if it's because of those men, I'm almost convinced that the second option is right. When finished, the woman wipes my mouth.
'' Do you want water?
'' Yes please. Many!
She laughs and gets up.
'' Right. '' He takes the pitcher and fills the glass, helping me again. Suddenly I feel so full I think I'm going to explode. '' I'll let you rest for a while, then I'll come back to see how you are '' he says, kindly.
I liked her.
'' Thanks.
A few minutes later, I manage to settle in bed and sigh with relief. Ah, this feels so good and comforting.
Suddenly, I'm startled when I hear the door open abruptly, finding Jessica, who stares at me with wide eyes.
'' Hello Friend. '' I smile.
