Chapter 11
As before, this morning Velove enjoyed his breakfast alone. I don't know what Darwin did until after seven o'clock and he still hasn't come out of the room.
Had thought that the man did not come home. However, after clarifying this to Reni, it turned out that her husband had still come home last night. It's just that it's very late.
"At least you're still sleeping. Or you could have woken up late. As far as I remember, last night Mr. Darwin came home around 12 or 1am like that, Non. Luckily I wasn't asleep yet because I was watching the final of the dangdut show on television. So, when you called, I immediately open the door."
"Shouldn't the front lock use a finger sensor? Why is Darwin making all the calls?" velove wonders.
Ren grinned. The household assistant replied while scratching the nape of his neck repeatedly.
"Um, Non. I accidentally locked the door from the inside. Mr. Darwin was nagging too because he couldn't get in. Besides, I thought Mr. Darwin came home with Non Velove last night."
"It's impossible, Ma'am Reni," velove argued. "It's like you don't know Darwin. How can he come home with me?"
As a household assistant who has served herself for years, Reni knows exactly what her employer's marriage is like. After all, specifically for Reni, Darwin also trusted him so much that the man did not cover up any secrets he had. Hence, Reni knew almost everything that happened at Darwin's house.
"Mr. Darwin is really weird. Having a beautiful wife like this is even unemployed. Later, when the angel leaves, you'll regret it," he grumbled while pouring a drink into Velove's glass.
Velvet chuckled. It wasn't funny to hear Reni's words, but it was annoying to see the irritated expression that her household assistant had just shown.
"Just let it be, Ms. Reni. I'm sure, later she will also wake up."
Reni immediately nodded immediately. Even agreeing on what Velove said just now.
"I pray, Miss. Anyway, I pray loudly to God so that Mr. Darwin wakes up quickly."
Right after saying that sentence, the man Velove and Reni were talking about came. Entering the dining room, then snatched a glass of milk that was on the table. He gulped it down, then got ready to go to work.
"You don't have breakfast first?" velove said. "I've prepared you seafood fried rice this morning."
Look at Velove, after yesterday it was clear Darwin was making out with another woman, this morning he was again trying to be nice. Carry out their duties and obligations to serve their husbands. Ensuring that Darwin is taken care of and all his needs are met.
Hearing Velove's words, Darwin's steps then stopped. Turning around briefly, the man shot her an uninterested glance.
"I've repeated it many times. You don't need to prepare all kinds of breakfast. You don't have to be nice or bother taking care of me."
The man then just walked away. Not the least bit heed what Velove conveyed to him.
Reni, who had been standing faithfully not far from the cupboard in the dining room, immediately approached. Trying to cheer up, Velove was afraid to feel hurt after hearing Darwin's words which felt so sharp.
"Be patient, miss. Just be patient if Mr. Darwin is so mean."
Velvet turned. Staring at Reni, the woman smiled instead. There was not the slightest hint of sadness on her pretty face.
"No problem, Mba Reni. I'm not offended at all. It seems I'm also immune."
"Just don't take it to heart, miss. In fact, originally Mr. Darwin was really kind, not annoying like this."
Velove once again nodded.
"Yes, I know. Maybe he was deliberately snappy so I wouldn't feel comfortable living here. That's why I never take what he's saying to heart now."
Finishing breakfast, Velove then grabbed his Birkin Bag. Rising to her feet, the woman prepared to leave.
However, before actually stepping out, he first gave an order to Reni.
"Ma'am, can I ask you a favor? Get me the blue lunch box that's in the cupboard."
Reni immediately executed the command.
After taking what Velove needed, he quickly handed it over.
"Non Velove brought lunch?" Reni asked curiously. It's nothing new that Darwin's household assistant is often curious about what his employer is doing.
"I want to prepare lunch for Darwin. Let him eat during his break from work later."
Velove then spooned the fried rice he cooked and then transferred it to the lunch box. Arranging shrimp, eggs, and also pickles so that the food can be eaten by the husband when the man has a break from work or in his spare time.
So when he arrived at the Khiel Group building, Velove immediately directed his feet towards the husband's room. Knocking on the door once, he immediately entered without needing to be invited first. After all, who would dare to forbid? He is also in the leadership ranks now.
From his net, Velove could see Darwin who had glanced briefly. The man then returned to busy reading something from behind the laptop that was on his desk.
"What are you doing here again?" Darwin snapped coldly. His eyes were still focused on the laptop screen in front of him.
Velvet smiled. Without saying much, he immediately put the lunch box he brought on his husband's desk, right next to the man's glass of water.
"You don't need to be so fierce. I just want to deliver the fried rice that you made at home on purpose. In fact, I ----"
"I already told you, you don't need to prepare all kinds of food," Darwin interrupted quickly. The expression on his face, which had been flat, slowly turned into dislike. "You don't have to pretend to pay attention. I already ---"
"Sssttss!" Velove hissed loudly. Deliberately avenge what Darwin previously did to him. "It's still early. Pamali is nagging. Besides, what's so hard about just eating? After all, it won't make your self-esteem drop. Or it won't make you fall in love with me right away. So, don't overreact to it."
Darwin took a deep breath. Choose to remain silent while throwing a sharp gaze. Noticing carefully how his wife smiled faintly at him.
I don't know where this courage came from, one thing is for sure, Darwin feels that Velove is now a braver person. Always answered his words. In fact, often stare back at him sharply. Or maybe this is indeed the true nature of the wife who is deliberately hidden.
"Ah, I almost forgot," continued Velove after being silent for a while. "Tonight we have to come to Papa's birthday which is celebrated at the Pullman Hotel. I hope you don't pretend to be busy. Because as a good son-in-law and heir-to-be, it's an obligation to attend the party that your father-in-law throws, right?"
Velove then left with a smile on his lips. Leaving Darwin who could only shake his head at his wife's behavior.
Exactly 10 minutes after Velove left, Darwin's eyes were accidentally fixed on the blue lunch box that Velove put on his desk. Grabbing the object, Darwin slowly opened the lid. Paying attention for a moment to the seafood fried rice that his wife deliberately prepared especially for him.
Reaching for a folding spoon tucked away neatly behind the lid of the box, Darwin slowly spooned the fried rice into his mouth. Chew slowly. Trying to enjoy all the flavors that arise from the food.
Actually, the food that Velove cooks is in the delicious category. This is also not the first time he has eaten and felt comfortable with his wife's cooking. It's just that Darwin is very proud to admit that Velove's cooking is delicious and suits his tongue. What you have is a big head, Ve!
Velove himself, as soon as he finished delivering food to his husband, immediately decided to walk to his room. Just arrived at the door, he saw Nathan who had just come out of the elevator. The narrow-eyed man waved. Giving the code for Velove to hold on for a moment, not to enter his room first.
"Morning, Mrs. Velove," Nathanael greeted politely.
The man even slightly bowed just like the attitude of other employees when they meet their superiors. Since it was already working hours, Nathan had to act professionally. It doesn't matter if he is actually familiar or maybe has had a relationship with Velove before.
"Morning, Mr. Nathan," Velove replied with a smile. "Today we immediately work on the deadline sent by the Japanese. I'm sure, if we do it together, the day after tomorrow it will definitely be completed and can be executed immediately."
Nathan nodded. He did what Velove told him to do.
"Then, after this I immediately do."
"Please. I want to go into the room first."
But before Velove could turn around, Nathan quickly handed him the brown paper bag he was carrying. Ask Velove to immediately accept the gift.
"What is this?" asked Velove with a confused face.
"That's red velvet, your favorite," Nathan answered in a nearly whispery voice. Deliberately so that no one heard what he just said. "I deliberately bought it for you to eat while doing your assignments. I know, you really have to snack every time you do an important task so you don't get stressed and your ulcer recurs."
Velvet smiled. Never thought that until this moment Nathan had not forgotten the habits that he often did. Even to the favorite food once, the man still remembers.
"Thank you very much. I appreciate this gift."
Nathan nodded. I'm not happy playing because Velove received what he gave. In fact, he had misgivings that his ex-girlfriend refused his gift.
"Ah, I almost forgot," Velove said again afterwards. As if there was one important piece of information he wanted to convey to Nathan. "Tonight Papa is celebrating his birthday at Pullman. All division heads and expert staff are invited to come. If you have time, don't forget to attend."
Nathan nodded. Smiling the man responded.
"Sure. I will definitely come to the event."

In the evening, Velove seemed to spend about an hour getting dressed. Believing that his appearance was perfect, Velove grabbed the black clutch that he had prepared earlier. Walked out of the room, approached Darwin who was waiting for him in the living room.
Seeing his wife suddenly standing in front of him, Darwin was shocked. Especially seeing Velove's appearance which is so stunning and extraordinarily beautiful than usual.
For a moment, Darwin froze. For God's sake, he cursed to himself why Velove was so different tonight. Silence for a while, he finally realized when Velove cleared his throat on purpose.
"Why? Just realized that you have a beautiful wife?"
The awe that had appeared on Darwin's face instantly vanished. Rolling his eyes in embarrassment, the man did not respond. But, preferring to drag his feet to get into the car that had been waiting for him all along.
Darwin and Velove hurried off. Luckily tonight the streets weren't so busy that they made it on time.
Entering the Pullman hotel, many guests have come and gone. There were many business partners, company officials, foreign investors, relatives, and several key staff who were deliberately invited to enliven the party.
Darwin himself met many colleagues he knew. Even Velove also never stopped responding to greetings from people who really knew her as the daughter of a Darius Wijaya.
"Velove!"
From a distance a woman was heard calling. Darwin, who was beside Velove, of course, reflexively turned to the source of the sound to make sure who had called his wife.
"Deasy!" Velove exclaimed with a wide grin. It's great to see his best friend tonight taking the time to fulfill the invitation to come.
"You've been here long?" Deasy asked when she was right in front of Velove.
"I just arrived. Maybe 10 minutes ago," explained the woman.
Dessy nodded. Then his gaze shifted to Darwin who was standing next to Velove. Throws a friendly smile. Even though, in her heart, Deasy didn't like the man who became her best friend's husband.
Convinced that all the invited guests had arrived, Darius immediately opened the event. Give a speech. Saying thank you and even introducing Darwin to the entire wide audience that this man will be his future successor.
Once the convivial event is over, the invited guests are welcome to eat the meal. Darwin and Deasy themselves seemed so busy talking and mingling with several invited guests who happened to be their business partners.
While Velove chose to go around greeting the invited guests. Had joined his father's guests several times, until finally he decided to step aside for a while to a corner of the room because he felt his legs getting tired from walking here and there so much.
"Ve, are you okay?"
While sitting and trying to stretch his leg muscles, Velove found Nathan's figure who had suddenly come over to him. Reprimanded, asked the condition of the ex-lover who according to him was not well.
Velove looked up. He looked at Nathanael and smiled faintly.
"I'm fine. It's just tired because the heels I'm wearing tonight are too high. So it hurts a little."
"Are you sure you're okay?"
Before Velove had time to answer, Nathan even bent his body and then squatted down. Grabbing Velove's ankle, the man immediately checked the condition of Velove's leg. Check if there are any cuts or abrasions there.
Meanwhile, in another corner, Deasy saw Velove and Nathan smiling. Glancing at Darwin, who was still standing beside him talking, he thought of heating up the husband of his best friend. From Velove, Deasy knew that Darwin was often arbitrary, even openly cheating in front of his best friend.
There is a feeling of annoyance and annoyance. That's why, at this perfect moment, Deasy wanted to provoke Darwin's anger. Is it successfully ignited or remain indifferent and do not care.
"Mr. Darwin," Deasy scolded.
Darwin turned his head when he heard his name being called. Putting on a friendly demeanor, the man flashed a smile as he replied.
"Yes can I help you."
"Actually there isn't one, sir. It's just that you aren't uncomfortable or jealous when you see your wife with another man?"
After uttering those words, Deasy shot a straight gaze. Seconds then deliberately pointed at Velove who was sitting and currently with Nathan on the other side.
"Let's see," continued Deasy. "That's Pak Darwin's wife with another man."
Darwin's eyes followed where Deasy's finger led. Once he found the figure in question, he only responded casually.
"Why should I be uncomfortable? Isn't it my co-workers who are with my wife?"
Dessy smiled. The look on his face was clearly mocking. He already suspected that Darwin did not even know who the figure with his wife was now.
"Just so Mr. Darwin knows, those who are with Velove right now are not just any co-workers."
Darwin's brow furrowed. To be honest, he didn't understand what Deasy had just said.
"What do you mean?"
Deasy just kept smiling. Taking a step forward, the woman spoke again.
"Mr. Darwin doesn't know, the handsome man with Velove is Nathanael Chandrawinata. Velove's ex-boyfriend before he married Mr. Darwin."
Darwin was shocked by this one fact. He did not expect that Velove before marriage also had a partner. No wonder when accidentally meeting outside several times, Velove seemed so familiar with the figure of a man named Nathanael.
"Ex-lover?" Darwin repeated while throwing a glance at Velove who was on the other side.
"Yes," nodded Daisy. "Nathan was Velove's first love. It's a shame they separated because Velove's parents forced him to marry Darwin. In fact, Nathanael already had plans to finish his master's degree and want Velove to marry him."
Deasy seemed to be deliberately provoking Darwin. He hoped that the bait he threw would be eaten alive by his best friend's husband.
"If I were Mr. Darwin, I would not allow my wife to be very close to any ex-boyfriend or any man. Especially if the ex is as handsome as he is now. It's dangerous, it could indicate CLBK."
Satisfied Deasy provoked. Darwin's smile widened even more when he was swallowed up by his words. The man without ba bi bu again decided to immediately approach his wife. Especially when with his own eyes, Darwin saw the man who was with Velove seem to be squatting on purpose without even hesitating to grab Velove's ankle as if he wanted to check something.
"V, what are you doing?"
Now, it was Velove's turn to gasp. He was a little surprised to find Darwin's figure suddenly standing in front of him.
"It's okay, my feet are just scratched," replied Velove briefly.
Seeing Darwin's arrival, Nathanael immediately stood up. Throws an awkward smile. Probably feeling bad that Darwin was currently glaring at him intently.
"Maybe Mrs. Velove stood too long wearing heels that were too high. She got tired and her feet got blisters," Nathan explained.
Darwin took a glance. The next second threw a glance at Velove. Without hesitation the man grabbed his wife's wrist and then asked her to stand up.
"Let's go home now."
"Go home?" repeated Velove in disbelief. The party isn't over yet, though.
"Yeah, let's go home now. Your feet hurt, right? Instead of getting worse, let's just go home. Can you walk alone? Or do you need me to carry you?" Darwin asked in a sarcastic tone. Of course he didn't really mean it.
Velove chuckled and then shook his head repeatedly.
"I can walk alone." Then he turned his gaze to Nathanael. "Nathan, thanks for the help. I'll be going home first."
Without waiting for Nathanael to answer Velove's words first, Darwin had already pulled his wife to follow him towards the car. Not allowing the two to get back into the conversation like before.
