60. Kill her.
Elena turned on her bed, the man was lying beside her fast asleep. She had just finished one of her best sex making ever. This was why she never turned him down whenever she came back for it even though she was bethrothed and mated to Arthur. The sex between them was too beautiful to let go and no matter how many times she told herself that it would be the last time and all of that, it was always a lie, she knows that deep down and can't help but pray that she just doesn't come across him when she gets married to the king because should that happen and she falls into his trap again, it was a killing offence.
She yawned as her eyes went to where Winifred was tied. She wanted to see if she had regained her consciousness, and she was ready to spit in her face and do all sorts before she finally gets killed but something else met her eyes. Winifred was gone, and the rope she was tied with was on the floor, cut into tiny pieces.
Elena sprang up from her bed immediately and jumped to the floor. She walked briskly to the spot Winifred was tied before she fell asleep with her lover, still not ready to accept the fact that she had escaped.
"What is this? How did she escape? Did someone aid her escape? That's just not possible? I could swear that she was tied so well, and she's just a weak human, how was she able to set herself free?" Her face became terrified as she remembered something. "For her to have ran away, she must have seen me on the bed and have known I was the one that kidnapped her! What if she has gone to the palace? That means the king would have been told what happened by now!" She ranted to herself on and on as she thought of the possibilities. Immediately, she rushed back to the bed and woke her lover up.
"Yes?" Her lover, who goes by the name Pete, simply turned on the bed as Elena continued to tap him to wake him up.
"What is it, Elena? I'd like to have more sleep, please, you know how tiring our sex can be, don't worry, well take care of that girl as soon as I'm properly awake." He muttered with a coarse voice, due to the fact that he had just woken up and was obviously still tired. His eyes were still closed too, but he was awake already.
"What is what?! Get up, Pete and stop talking! Our hostage is gone!" She exclaimed. Immediately she said that, Pete jumped up from the bed to look at the spot Winifred was tied too. He was shocked and could not believe his eyes. "I told you to not make any mistake, Pete. Now she has escaped and I'm sure she would have gone to the palace! What if she already told the king that I was the one that kidnapped her? Do you know what that would mean? Pete, it means we are dead, both of us!"
Pete stood up from the bed and walked to the spot he had tried Winifred with his own hands. He stared at the cut rope on the floor and still could not believe his eyes. "I tied her really tight that she would have been too weak to cut it or run. So, how did she do it? Did you not say she was just a human? Are you sure?"
"Are you asking me that?!" Elena raised her voice at him as she walked to him and began to hit his chest with her hand. "You have to do something about this, this is bad! Really bad! We are going to die, Pete! And all because of what! Your incompetency!"
"Will you calm down already?!" He suddenly snapped back at her. He was trying to think of what next to do, yet she kept blaming him for the girl's disappearance. "What is your problem? Did we not both sleep? Why are you blaming just me? When she was running away, why did you not wake up and catch her then? Why are you here screaming now?" He glared at her as he replied her.
Elena scoffed as she folded her arms and stared at him. "Really? It has come to this now? You're trying to blame this on me now? Isn't this your job? Pete, this is the only job I gave to you and you have done nonsense, absolute rubbish! You can't even tie one weak human properly, a big hug man like you tied her like your hand is made of rubber!"
"Just shut it, Elena! Shut it and let me think of what I have to do next."
"You just want to think of what to do? Now?" She scoffed. "The only thing you have to do it to go after her right away! Find her compulsorily. She must be found and immediately you do, kill her on the spot! Don't wait until she runs away on you again, we don't even need to tie her down or do any of that shenigans!"
"Shut it already, Elena! You were the one who wanted her tied up first so that that she wakes, you can showcase your power or whatever on her, so that you could beat her up, spit on her and abuse her as much as you can just before she dies finally and now youre acting like it's it's just me!" Pete snapped.
"I don't care, that's a mistake, fine! Kill her when you find her this time! Immediately!" Elena responded.
"You speak like these things are easy to do. If you had not left me and gone to the stupid prince, this would not have happened in the first place! Now you're here shouting at me over some girl, just because you want to marry the king. Just damn it!" Pete snapped at her and walked back to the bed. He picked up his other pieces of clothing and began to wear them.
Almost immediately, a female slave ran inside their room, making them jerk back in shock.
"Can't you knock?!" Both Pete and Elena shouted at her at the same time. She was shocked at the outburst as she walked backward a little, a terrified look appeared on her face.
"I'm sorry, my lady. But I am here to tell you that—"
"What is so important that you wanted to tell me that you could not knock my door before walking?! Did you not think it through that I could be naked?!" Elena snapped at her again. "What exactly is your problem? What is wrong?!"
"I'm sorry, my lady. I wanted to tell you—"
"It had better be something important, or I'll kill you with my own hands!" Elena said again, making Pete sigh.
"Just let the girl speak. It seems like she has something very important to say. Probably she saw the girl you're looking for, do you know?" Pete replied, rolling his eyes at Elena. He was done putting on his clothes by now.
"Fine, go ahead then." She said to the slave, while giving her a scornful stare.
Breathing heavily, she began to speak. "Some men are coming here. The men I saw are very armed and they are approaching this particular building. Some are even in their shifted form, I don't know if you know them, but I don't think they are here to play. They seemed like they are here to—"
Her sentence was cut short by a bang on the door as their door went ajar. The first person that stepped into the tent was Arthur. Immediately saw him, Elena's eyes went wide open in shock. Pete also recognised Arthur as the new lycan king. He began to shiver at the sight of him.
As soon as Arthur walked in, the slave that was talking to Elena before ran further into the room, to keep herself safe. Arthur's men stormed on after him and without being told, they went ahead to grab Pete by his clothes. The other men surrounding the tent have also been caught by Arthur's other men.
Elena stood there staring at Arthur, who also stood there staring at her. It seemed like they were in a starting competition. The first thing he looked for inside the tent was any traces of Winifred, but he didn't see any.
His eyes went to the cut rope on the floor, and his subconscious mind told him that it was probably his lover that was tied there. He did not want to believe his subconscious mind, so he shoved the thought away. "That's impossible. She'd never dare to do that to her," he muttered to himself as he looked from the rope back to Elena.
News had spread in the palace that it was probably Elena that kidnapped Winifred. He didn't want to think much of it at first because people in the palace liked to pass rumours, but when they looked everywhere and couldn't find Winifred, he knew he had to take a step. He also recalled that Elena never liked Winnifred. And with the rumour that he wasn't going to get married to Elena again, she has probably heard about it and had wanted to take revenge. All these were what he took into consideration before he told his men to gather up and find the whereabouts of Elena, and here they are.
"Where is my lover?" He asked her sternly, staring into her eyes as she stared into his with fear. "Where is Winifred? Where did you keep her? What did you do to her?"
