Chapter 4

Okay, so here’s something I might have forgotten to mention, but I am sure you have figured this out on your own already. But, I’ll just say it anyway. My sister is getting married.

She had called me sometime two years ago, to tell me how she met this really cute guy at a friend’s wedding. I didn’t think much about it, because my sister didn’t seem like the type that would want to settle down so early. But, to my surprise, she called three months ago to tell me she was engaged!

I felt really bad when I heard the news. No, it is not what you think. I didn’t feel bad because she was getting married, in fact, I was actually genuinely happy for her. Although, I did feel like she was rushing into the whole marriage thing. I mean, she’s only twenty three for crying out loud!

But, that is by the way. I was really happy for her. But, I was bummed out because the news made me reaIe that I had detached myself from my family so badly that I no longer knew what was going on with each of them. I mean, I didn’t even know that Kaden loved basketball. The news also made me reaIe how short a time I had left with my sister before she went on to get hitched.

I would really have loved to spend some quality time with my sister before she says I do, but she is kinda hard to get along with, especially when her friends or pretty much anyone else is around.

Remember when I said I love my sister? Well, I meant it. But, she’s is a bit of a hypocrite, and she likes to be the only perfect person in the room. So, she likes to belittle every other person when she’s around. This really pisses me off sometimes, but I’m sure I can cope for a few weeks.

Oh, before I forget, her fiancé’s name is Devon DeMarco, he is a lawyer, and a good one at that. He graduated with five different awards and honors from Law school, and now he works for one of the most prestigious law firms in New York. He’s twenty nine, that’s six years older than Katlyn. I don’t really mind the age difference, it is not in my place to mind.

I have spoken with Devon several times since he and Katlyn met, and even face timed with him, and I must say, he is a nice guy, and handsome too.

Once, he even came to my campus to meet me and he took me out to get something to eat, and also bought me a lot of stuff. He was a fun guy, and very friendly, we got along pretty well. I am glad he is the one marrying my sister, because he is also very patient and very slow to take offense, and I know what a handful my sister can be.

I think they are perfect for each other. But that doesn’t stop me from thinking Katlyn is a little too young to get married. But, I am happy for them all the same, very happy.
