Chapter 1189 The Magic World is Really Small
Daphne put on a smile again, grabbed the bill, paid it, and left the restaurant with Vincent.
Hermione roughly guessed the result from the expressions of the two people. The simple-minded Astoria didn't think much about it and just thought that her sister and Vincent were discussing who should pay the bill.
After saying goodbye to the Greengrass sisters, Hermione took Vincent's arm and said, "I don't want to go back so early. Where are we going next?"
"Hmm..." Vincent looked around, "It's almost evening, let's just take a stroll."
As the school term approaches, the bustling streets of London are still as lively as ever.
As they walked, they arrived at Charing Cross Road, a few blocks away.
Hermione subconsciously looked towards the Leaky Cauldron, which was sandwiched between a bookstore and a record store. She tightened her hand around Vincent's arm and stopped at the side of the road. "Should we...should we go in and take a look?"
"No," Vincent patted her hand. "I'm the most wanted criminal in the British wizarding world now. It will be troublesome if I'm recognized."
Hermione tightened her grip on his arm.
She knew that Vincent was not referring to the trouble that would lead to the Aurors' pursuit, but rather the discovery of the close relationship that they still maintained.
"I'm not afraid of trouble."
The door of the Leaky Cauldron suddenly opened, and a flash of panic flashed in her eyes, but then she regained her determination in an instant.
Their eyes met, and Vincent saw what she was thinking.
He raised his hand and scratched her nose. "If you are found out, just say that I forced you to do this."
Hermione pouted, her eyes looking a little lonely, "Will the Ministry of Magic believe it?"
Vincent grabbed her wrists with both hands and said, "Of course I believe it. Forcing a little witch to go shopping with me, isn't this good black material?"
Hermione laughed at him.
Every time, every time when it comes to the key point, he will avoid the question in a joking tone like he is now.
Hermione, whose hand he had grasped tightly, stood on tiptoe and glared at him fiercely, "I'm no longer the little witch who needs your protection. Didn't Fred and George tell me? I'm the head witch of Gryffindor."
Vincent was stunned for a moment, then the corners of his mouth curled up slightly, outlining a sly smile, "Alright, you already admit that you are the big sister."
Hermione's eyes flickered, and she glared back fiercely, "No one dares to catch you while I'm here."
She shook her hand and held his big hand tightly, "Come on, sister will take you to Diagon Alley."
After walking a few steps forward, she suddenly stopped where she was.
Vincent was also stunned, because the person coming out of the Leaky Cauldron was actually an acquaintance, and there were two acquaintances standing face to face at the door of the bar, talking and laughing.
"You...you guys?" Hermione stared at Fleur and Bill, who were also standing there, with suspicion on her face.
These two, one with silver hair and the other with red hair, are so conspicuous.
Fleur and Bill had not expected to run into Vincent and Hermione, and both of them moved slightly to the side in embarrassment.
"Wow~" Vincent and Hermione smiled at each other.
Furong had a dark face, as if she was hiding something.
She quickly walked up to the two of them and said, "Are you crazy? There are wizards everywhere here. If you are recognized, you will be doomed."
Bill also came over at this time, "It's not safe here, let's go somewhere else."
Vincent pointed to the bookstore next door, and Fleur and Bill understood and followed him and Hermione in.
The bookstore is very large and has a second floor. The four of them found a secluded corner and sat down.
Furong and Bill felt very uncomfortable being stared at by the two people opposite them, as if they were guilty of having discovered something.
"Bill and I are colleagues." Fleur didn't dare meet Hermione's teasing eyes. "I told you before that I found a part-time job in London."
"Oh." Vincent nodded. "How long have you been working at Gringotts?"
"Three days."
Vincent gave Bill a thumbs-up.
The cool eldest brother of the Weasley family was quite capable. In just three days, he was chatting and laughing with the aloof Fleur.
"Ahem..." Bill coughed, "Let's not talk about Fleur for now. Vincent, when did you come back?"
"Fleur?" Hermione found the blind spot and stared at Fleur with a half-smile.
We've only been colleagues for three days, and our relationship is already so good that we call each other by name?
Vincent patted Hermione's hand, signaling her not to push too hard, "I came back half a month ago."
"Ah!?" Fleur quickly covered her mouth. "You haven't been discovered by the Ministry of Magic?"
Vincent smiled mysteriously, "I'm staying in an absolutely safe place. Even the International Confederation of Wizards doesn't dare to enter casually."
"Where?"
"A Muggle Army base."
Furong opened her mouth and then suddenly closed it.
Bill became interested. "A Muggle Army base! My dad has always wanted to go in and take a look. If there's a chance, I'll definitely give it a good visit."
"Really? I'll be staying in England for a while, and you can come visit anytime."
Not you, but you.
Bill didn't deny it. "That's great. How about next Thursday? We have the day off."
"Thursday... the 7th..." Vincent glanced at Hermione who was still staring at Fleur, "Sorry, I'm not free that day."
"Is that so?" Bill thought for a moment, then turned and asked, "Furong, when is your next vacation?"
"I think it's number 13."
"Then number 13."
Vincent nodded and wrote down the date. "It's getting late, so we won't bother you anymore."
Bill didn't deny it this time. "It's not a bother at all. We were just discussing where to have dinner. Do you have any suggestions?"
"If you want a candlelight dinner, I recommend Charing Cross in Chelsea. The chef there is very good at making French cuisine."
Furong's eyes lit up when she heard the term candlelight dinner.
Judging from their performance, who would believe that they are just ordinary colleagues?
Before leaving, Hermione winked meaningfully at Fleur, and Vincent also made a suggestive gesture of encouragement.
After the two left, Furong finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"I didn't expect to run into them."
"Yeah." Bill withdrew his gaze from their backs and said, "Let's go too. Chelsea is quite far from here."
Furong smiled, stood up, and left the bookstore with him.
"The wizarding world is so small." Hermione took Vincent's big hand and walked with him away from the Leaky Cauldron and towards Leicester Square in the south.
"They are indeed small." Vincent squeezed her small hand, "Cedric and Cho, Fleur and Bill, Tonks and Professor Lupin."
"And Ginny and Harry." Hermione said with a smile: "Ginny came to see me several times during the summer vacation. She was very beautiful to begin with, and she became even more beautiful after learning how to dress herself up."
She suddenly stopped and came closer to Vincent, "Finally, there are you and me."
