Chapter 1270 Fenrir Graybuck
The intense noise coming through the headset meant that other teams had also encountered werewolves.
One team used the corridor as an advantage to take down one werewolf after another. When the fourth werewolf fell, the remaining three roared and ran away.
Corporal Gene coldly watched their retreating figures. "Don't chase them. Be careful, it might be a trap."
He stood in front of the broken window, put on the thermal imaging camera, and scanned the factory.
As expected, each squad was engaged in fierce combat with the werewolves. The building they were in had a good view and was very suitable for setting up ambush points.
"Baker, Jason, you two switch to sniper mode to support the other squads. The rest of you, cover them!"
Baker and Jason pushed the barrel of the Dominator pistol, extending it to the length of a rifle, and the muzzle, which emitted a ghostly blue light, was also extended.
The two stood at the windows on either side of the corridor, beginning to support the other squads.
The slender beam of light has strong penetrating power; it can even penetrate walls without being reduced in the slightest.
Without a doubt, the Maxma forces have firmly established their advantage.
Werewolves weren't unfamiliar with Muggle modern weapons; it's just that those metal bullets didn't hurt them at all, which made them underestimate the power of the Dominator from the very beginning.
But they still retained a shred of reason, and gradually, they began to actively avoid the vital points.
"Awooo—" This high-pitched howl seemed to be sending some signal to the werewolves, who actually abandoned the fight and ran towards a dimly lit factory.
Corporal Gene could see it clearly through the thermal imaging camera: there was a very conspicuous heat source inside the factory, and it was huge, even bigger than the werewolves that ran in and knelt on the ground.
It was obvious that the man in the factory was Fenrir Greyback, the leader of the werewolves.
Corporal Gene gripped the Dominator pistol tightly. "This is a squad. We've located the enemy leader."
After a brief tactical discussion, it was decided that the second and third teams, which were closest to the outside, would go to probe, while the fourth and fifth teams would stay outside to provide support at any time, and the first team would continue to provide long-range support.
The factory interior was in terrible condition, littered with animal carcasses and rotting flesh, and many of the bones had human-like features.
The reports from the second and third teams caused Vincent and Hunter outside the factory to frown instantly. Graybury and his werewolves were no longer just cruel.
After a brief silence, Vincent turned on the projection screen and played back the footage that the second and third teams were seeing in real time.
The dimly lit factory was not large, but it contained shocking sights everywhere.
The second team even discovered a cell where children were being imprisoned; they were infected with mad wolf disease and were frantically tearing each other apart.
"Captain...we..."
"Switch to paralysis mode."
As the transformed children fell into a deep sleep, Team Three had already reached the deepest part of the factory.
The area was very open, with almost no cover. The werewolves were all gathered together, crawling on the ground beneath a werewolf sitting on a huge iron chair.
“Muggle toy soldiers,” Graybuck’s voice was hoarse and grating. “I want to know where you got your toy guns from.”
No one answered his question, and his werewolves did not attack immediately, but seemed to be observing.
This detail made the three teams' hearts sink. The werewolves had learned their lesson; they were not just beasts, they had wisdom and tactical awareness.
Greyback's yellow eyes gleamed with cruel wisdom as he licked his sharp claws. "Poor Muggles, who gave you your confidence? The toy guns in your hands?"
The second team gripped their Dominator pistols, ready to fire at any moment.
Perhaps out of fear, Graybury hesitated to take action, and he kept trying to provoke the second team with words.
“You’ve spoiled my fun. In return, I’ve decided to take a good stroll through the Muggle community next full moon. Those Muggle parents are so careless; they always leave their kids home alone.”
His taunts successfully ignited the anger of the second team, but they did not impulsively pull the trigger.
A moment later, the third team arrived.
Greyback grinned as he rose from the massive iron chair; he was clearly losing patience.
With his roar, all the werewolves opened their blood-red mouths and pounced.
"Pay attention to formation!"
This empty room offers little cover; anyone left alone will be instantly surrounded.
Graybury also moved, and he was so fast that he almost left a blur.
His target was the second team he had been maintaining. He knocked a soldier away with one claw, but he underestimated the strength of the "physical-magical composite armor," which was unable to be torn apart by his claws.
In the instant he was stunned, the barrage of fire formed by the intertwined beams of light from the two teams came rushing towards him.
Greyback's figure moved like a ghost through the beams of light, as if he could predict the trajectory of the shots.
"He's learning!" the second team leader shouted. "He's observing our firing intervals!"
Graybury laughed, revealing a mouthful of yellow teeth. "A clever little Muggle, but not very clever."
He suddenly changed direction, no longer dodging, but charged straight towards Team Three.
All the firepower was focused on him, and explosions erupted on his fur, but he only slowed down slightly.
As the claws swung down, one of the soldiers from the third squad rolled to dodge, but his shoulder was slashed open.
Although the outer layer of the armor was not completely torn apart, the inner layer had revealed the defensive magic applied to the graphene.
Greyback grinned, revealing an incredibly cruel smile. "You Muggles and wizards are on such good terms?"
He thrust out his claws with all his might, trying to pierce the chest of the soldier in front of him.
With a "whoosh," blood splattered everywhere, and Graybury stared in disbelief at his arm that had been pierced by the beam of light.
"You want to die, huh!" He lowered his center of gravity, his legs tensing. "Then I'll grant your wish!"
He crashed through the wall and jumped toward the building where the team was located.
Corporal Gene reacted quickly and pulled Baker back from the window.
Graybuck crashed down in front of the two men, his yellow eyes faintly flashing red.
"Electroshock Mode!"
The powerful electric current caused Graybuck's muscles to spasm, and even if it was only for a moment, it was enough for the two of them to retreat to a safe distance.
Corporal Gene took a deep breath. "Attention everyone, he's not a beast, he's a tactician. We need to think like tacticians."
Baker, whom he had saved, seemed to understand something and moved the gun from Graybuck's body to his feet.
In Blast Mode, the beam blasts through the floor, kicking up dust and debris.
Jason had a sudden inspiration and switched to penetration mode to smash through the ceiling, causing a large number of stones to fall from above Graybuck's head.
The chaotic environment caused Graybuck to hesitate in his actions. He was used to anticipating attacks aimed at him, and this tactic of creating environmental obstacles disrupted his rhythm.
But relying on his strong physique, he managed to break through from inside.
He braced himself against the beam of light that could rip flesh apart and swung his claws fiercely at Corporal Gene.
