Chapter 1271 Dangerous Breath
The immense force tore through the composite armor, and blood seeped from Corporal Zeon's abdomen.
He gritted his teeth and raised the Dominator; the cracked muzzle made Graybuck sense the danger.
With a loud bang, Graybury was blasted out of the building by the thick beam of the Destruction Mode.
"team leader!"
Corporal Gene loosened his grip slightly on the smoking Dominator, indicating that he was alright.
The claws tore through the armor, but beneath the armor were more than ten layers of Kevlar fiber, which provided excellent protection against cutting and piercing.
Compared to the strength of other werewolves, Greyback seems to come from another dimension.
"Stay alert." Corporal Gene clutched the scratch on his abdomen. "My Dominator only has half its power left. It should recover soon."
Outside the building,
Graybuck, his body charred black, shakily crawled out of the deep pit in the ground.
The terrifying energy burned away his thick hair, and although his cracked skin was healing, the pain throughout his body did not lessen at all.
He struggled to climb out of the pit, his originally yellow eyes turning an eerie crimson in the glow of the flames.
Such a grand undertaking clearly indicates that this is a hunt, a slightly different hunt, but one he is intimately familiar with.
"Awooo—" Graybury crawled out of the pit, looked up at the full moon in the sky, and the wounds all over his body were healing quickly.
He's the prey? No, the prey should be that bunch of Muggle toy soldiers!
Danger, the aura of danger.
Greyback suddenly raised his claws to block a thin beam of light aimed at his head.
He grinned widely and charged forward, each step kicking up pebbles and dust.
Inside the building, Baker and Jason, who were in charge of sniping, couldn't keep up with his movements at all.
This monster, after taking a beam that wasn't at full strength in Destruction Mode, actually became even faster.
"Block his path!" Corporal Gene, despite being wounded, gritted his teeth and gave the order, "Switch to continuous fire mode!"
A thin beam of light shone along the ground toward the charging Graybuck, forcing him to slow down and go around it.
The second beam of light arrived, this time from left to right. Graybury stomped heavily on the ground and leaped into the air with a movement that no human could make, his long arms firmly gripping the wall of the building.
"Damn it!" Corporal Gene had barely finished speaking when Graybury had already slipped into the building they were in.
With the help of the thermal imager, everyone on the team could clearly see his figure.
"Attention all personnel! Ready to fire at any moment!"
The tall figure was exceptionally agile, approaching with ghostly speed.
Instead of confronting him head-on, Graybuck cunningly smashed through the floor.
One team reacted quickly, pulling the trigger almost simultaneously, but he deflected at an angle that defied the laws of physics and grabbed the nearest Baker.
The scraping sound of claws against metal was particularly grating. Baker was dragged for several meters, leaving four scratches on his chest armor, but it was not completely torn apart.
Corporal Gene astutely noticed this: "His strength has diminished! Concentrate all firepower!"
Graybuck was instantly engulfed by the beam of light, and his joints and torso were simultaneously blasted open with more than a dozen wounds.
Despite his numerous wounds, his wide-open mouth still revealed an incredibly cruel smile.
"This won't work!" Jason seized the opportunity to bring Becquerel back. "This monster regenerates too quickly!"
Corporal Gene looked at the Dominator in his hand, which was still smoking, and replaced its energy tank.
Destruction Mode can convert all electrical energy at once and fire pure magical energy, but it places too much burden on the Dominator, and after firing, only the most basic paralysis mode can be used temporarily.
Gene looked at Baker, who was still somewhat shaken, and asked, "Baker, do you want revenge?"
Baker looked down at the four scratches on his chest, then glanced at Gene's abdomen, which he was clutching tightly.
He gripped the Dominator tightly in his hand. "Captain! I want revenge!"
"Excellent! Replace the energy tank!"
The unique glow of Destruction Mode seemed to provoke Greyback, who charged forward recklessly, his crimson eyes filled not with cruelty, but with vigilance.
Pure magical energy gathered in front of the gun barrel, forming an unstable vortex.
"emission!"
Baker pulled the trigger, and the beam of Destruction mode shot out silently, almost covering the entire corridor.
Graybury decisively smashed through the wall and scrambled inside.
Experiencing this pure magical energy up close, his expression became more solemn than ever before.
No wonder they dared to come hunting; it turns out they possess such a terrifying weapon.
He wanted to get away from this terrible energy, but a piercing pain suddenly came from his shoulder.
Even a mere scratch can cause skin to peel off, muscles to atrophy, and slow healing; a direct hit would only have more severe consequences.
Greyback let out an angry roar as new flesh regenerated on his left shoulder intertwined with necrotic tissue.
“Very good.” His voice was hoarse. “It’s stronger than the Auror’s spell, so it’s worth hunting.”
The terrifying magical energy dissipated, and he slowly stepped out of the wall, as if deliberately demonstrating the regeneration process of his wounds, his eyes seeming to say: he can continue to regenerate all night long.
Corporal Gene frowned. Greyback wasn't one of those mindless beasts; he would use his speed advantage and was also prepared for the beam of Destruction Mode.
"Team One, did you hear that?"
The voice coming through the headset eased Corporal Gene's furrowed brow: "This is Team One, we need backup."
"almost there!"
Graybury's expression changed immediately, clearly indicating that he had overheard their conversation.
Has the battle at the factory already ended?
He charged forward and used his claws to send Jason flying.
Gene's judgment was correct; his power diminished, leaving only shallow scratches on the armor's surface.
Just as Graybuck was about to choose his next target, a sudden electric shock caused his muscles to spasm.
"good chance!"
He sensed danger again; the reinforcements had arrived at the building.
He roared in resentment, tore apart the beam of light with his claws, and then leaped onto the windowsill at lightning speed.
The five teams that came to help him passed by, but he didn't stop at all and headed straight for the factory exit.
He tried to escape, but failed, for what awaited him was a raging fire that was said to burn everything.
Werewolves have strong regenerative abilities, but even they can't withstand the burning of Fiendfire.
Graybury had no way out. Just as he turned back to fight to the death, Fiery Blaze split open in the middle, and he rushed out without hesitation.
“Abandoning your companions and running away alone was a very wise choice.”
Greyback's bloodshot eyes were fixed on Vincent. "So it was you!"
Vincent looked at his shoulder, which was still slowly healing. "Fenrir Greyback, your evil deeds end here."
"It's not up to you to decide!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Graybuck's body was firmly bound by more than a dozen iron chains that burst out of the ground, and every time he struggled, more chains were added to his body.
