Chapter 951: Hypocritical Karkaroff
Harry's reaction was the same as Draco's. His mind went blank, as if his soul had been sucked away by the Dementors.
The quiet hall became lively again, with boos coming from the Slytherin table.
Madame Maxime at the staff table breathed a sigh of relief, but she soon became angry, "Dumbledore! What on earth is going on? How could there be two warriors in Hogwarts!"
On the other side, Karkaroff had a cold smile on his face, his blue eyes as cold as ice, "Hogwarts has two warriors? I don't remember anyone telling me that the host school can have two warriors. Didn't I read the regulations carefully enough?"
Dumbledore did not answer their questions, but frowned and whispered a few words to McGonagall who was walking quickly towards him.
"Albus, Harry has not crossed the age line, at least not today."
"I understand." Dumbledore nodded and signaled to Madame Maxime and Karkaroff to stay calm.
He looked at Harry, who looked confused, and shouted, "Harry! Please come up here!"
Ron nudged Harry, who stood up dazedly.
Harry nearly tripped over his robes as he went up to the staff table.
Seeing his distraught look, Madame Maxime and Karkaroff were immediately confused.
Dumbledore looked at Harry calmly, without a smile on his face, "Well... go through that door, Harry."
In the 700-year history of the Triwizard Tournament, there has never been a fourth warrior.
Dumbledore looked at the two headmasters in turn, "The situation is now just as you have seen. The Goblet of Fire has chosen the fourth champion."
Madame Maxime stared at Dumbledore with a scrutinizing look. "It is extremely unfair for a school to have two champions at the same time, even if they are obviously under the age of 17."
Karkaroff still had a cold smile on his face. "Dumbledore, is the problem with you? Are you sure you didn't make a mistake when setting the age line?"
Dumbledore looked at the two calmly, "The Goblet of Fire will not be selected based on age. Even if there is a problem with the age line, or if someone else puts Harry's name into the Goblet of Fire, it will never spit out an extra piece of parchment."
Apparently, someone had tampered with the Goblet of Fire.
The auditorium was now very noisy, making both Madame Maxime and Karkaroff a little upset.
Bagman stood up and walked in front of the three people. "Three principals, the warriors are still waiting for us. I think they must be very confused. Should we go and comfort them first?"
Harry and Draco were both chosen as champions, so it was obvious that they would quarrel.
Dumbledore spoke a few words to McGonagall, then walked into the door with the other two headmasters, Bagman and old Barty.
Their departure made the argument in the auditorium even more intense.
Gryffindor thought Draco cheated, Slytherin thought Harry cheated.
Beauxbatons and Durmstrang believe that the tournament is unfair.
There are four warriors in the Triwizard Tournament? This is ridiculous!
Even if Hogwarts is the organizer, there is no reason for two warriors to exist at the same time.
As for Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, of course they just sat there quietly and watched the show.
"Weasley, you really are Potter's dog!" Pansy sarcastically mocked, "Potter is not here now, who are you showing your loyalty to?"
Ron blushed instantly, "Parkinson, you are the dog! Your whole family is dogs!"
He wasn't the only Weasley, the twins and Ginny also launched personal attacks.
"Parkinson, you should find a mirror and look at yourself. You look like a poodle, and you dare to call others dogs!"
"That's right, Parkinson, do you know what birds of a feather flock together? Malfoy, this little puppy, is still waiting for you to take care of him!"
Seeing that the situation was getting more and more serious, Magg at the staff table pointed her wand at her throat and said coldly, "Quiet."
The little lions felt as if they were being stabbed in the back and sat down dejectedly.
Although the little snakes still wanted to fight again, this kind of loss-making thing was clearly not in line with their character.
McGonagall glanced at Snape at the long table, then turned to the students, "Since the Goblet of Fire has selected four champions, then according to the rules, they must all participate in this tournament. If you have any questions, the headmasters will give you an explanation later."
After saying that, she walked to the other side of the long staff table, said a few words to Moody, and then walked down the table together and came in front of Vincent, who was frowning.
"Come with me, Professor Dumbledore wants to see you."
Vincent followed the two men obediently and walked into the door behind the long staff desk.
Not long after the three of them entered, the students began a new round of discussion.
But this time the sound was very small, because Mag came back soon.
There was a small room on the other side of the door, and from it came Karkaroff's no longer smooth and mellow voice:
"You must put the Goblet of Fire back out! We have to keep adding names to it until each school has two champions! That's fair, Dumbledore!"
Then, Bagman's deep voice was heard:
"Karkaroff, I'm afraid that won't work. The Goblet of Fire has just been extinguished. It won't be rekindled until the next Tournament."
"Drmstrang will definitely not participate in the next tournament!"
Vincent and Moody outside the small room both looked unhappy.
This Karkaroff is so hypocritical. He will turn against you as long as it is not in his own interests.
"We've had so many meetings, so many negotiations and consultations, but we didn't expect something like this to happen! I want to leave now!"
Moody's hands were tightly gripping his cane, as if he was ready to rush in at any moment.
But he finally held back, because old Barti's words made Karkarov shut up completely.
"Karkaroff, go ahead if you want to. No one here will stop you."
After a moment's silence, Dumbledore's voice rang out:
"We have no choice but to accept the current situation. Harry and Draco have both been selected by the Goblet of Fire and they must participate in the competition.
As for the reasons for this situation, I am sure someone can answer our questions.
However, we should first allow Mr. Bagman and Mr. Crouch to instruct the warriors."
The small room was silent for a long moment, and then Dumbledore's voice sounded again.
"Okay, it looks like we have reached a consensus.
Mr. Bagman, Mr. Crouch, I leave this to you."
The three headmasters then came out, with Dumbledore still holding the extinguished Goblet of Fire.
Madame Maxime and Karkaroff both looked surprised to see two people standing outside.
The former was because Vincent was surprised and a little worried, and the latter was because Moody was shocked and scared.
