Chapter 952 Why Harry?
"Sorry to have kept you waiting." Dumbledore came in front of Vincent and Moody and drew out the Elder Wand to cast a soundproofing spell around them.
"You should have heard what happened just now. I hope you can answer our questions."
Bagman's booming voice died away, and Moody leaned over the Goblet of Fire to examine it closely.
Vincent nodded slightly to Dumbledore, "Someone tampered with the Goblet of Fire. I saw it with my own eyes."
"What!?" The four of them all stared at him in shock.
Although they had guessed it, they still couldn't believe it was true.
But this is just Vincent's one-sided statement, maybe it was a collusion.
Karkaroff immediately questioned, "Vincent, if you saw it, why didn't you tell us?"
Madame Maxime turned and stood in front of Vincent. "Karkaroff, Vincent has his reasons. He doesn't need to make them clear."
She knew in advance through French Minister Russell that Vincent would not participate in this year's Triwizard Tournament, so even if he saw someone trying to tamper with the Goblet of Fire, it was understandable that he chose not to say anything.
But Karkaroff didn't know that in his eyes, Madame Maxime's protection meant that Hogwarts and Beauxbatons were in collusion and wanted Durmstrang to suffer a loss.
"I don't care what your reasons are! Vincent, if you don't explain it clearly, I have reason to suspect that you are in cahoots with that guy!"
"Karkaroff, you—"
"Olim! He is not your student, why are you defending him so much? Is it because he is Nicolas Flamel's apprentice?"
Maxim's wife looked unhappy.
Vincent didn't want to embarrass her, so he walked up to Karkaroff, his eyes about to spit out blazing fire, and said, "Professor Karkaroff, my reason is actually very simple, because I don't want to participate in the Triwizard Tournament."
Dumbledore narrowed his eyes for a moment.
Karkaroff was still unyielding, "Why? Why don't you want to participate in the Triwizard Tournament?"
Vincent looked at Dumbledore, who was in a bad mood, and said, "Because I want to disappoint someone and I want him to never interfere with my decisions again."
Moody gave him an admiring look.
This young man is courageous and he was right about the person.
Karkaroff was speechless for a moment, roughly trying to understand why Dumbledore had such a big reaction before saying Draco's name.
Since the original champion of Hogwarts was Vincent, then who the hell was the final Harry?
All four of them looked straight at Vincent.
He hid nothing and told everything he saw in the early morning.
"Confusion?" Moody leaned over to the Goblet of Fire again. "Vincent, are you sure it's this spell?"
"I am sure that even though that person did not utter any spell at the time, I can be sure from the magical fluctuations that it was a Confusion Spell."
Moody's magic eye stilled, and soon his intact eye became bright, "I know!"
He straightened up and faced the four people. "The Confounding Charm has fooled the Goblet of Fire into thinking that Hogwarts should have two champions."
Vincent frowned again, "Professor Moody, but if that's the case, then it doesn't make sense for Harry to be the second champion of Hogwarts."
No one looked down on Harry, but he was only a fourth year, and even if his magic level was higher than that of seventh year students, it was not much higher.
What's more, the selection for the Goblet of Fire does not only focus on the level of magic, courage, reasoning ability, and the ability to overcome danger are all crucial.
Vincent met Dumbledore's gaze calmly. "Ever since Harry was chosen from the Goblet of Fire, I have been wondering why he was chosen. If it was to give Hogwarts two chances, then there are obviously many students who are more suitable to be a warrior than him."
Dumbledore narrowed his eyes again. "Vincent, are you saying that the man who cast the Confounding Charm on the Goblet of Fire was doing so that Harry could be chosen as the Champion?"
"Yes." Vincent looked at Madame Maxime and Karkaroff, "I have suspected many people, even Harry's godfather Sirius, but I can't understand why he would put Harry in danger."
Sirius was an outlier in the Black family. If he cared about the false title of a warrior, he would not have run away from home.
So, who else wants Harry to be chosen as the champion the most, even at the cost of having two champions in Hogwarts?
Madame Maxime held her breath involuntarily and turned to look at Karkaroff with a puzzled look.
"What?" Karkaroff was extremely angry when he felt the four gazes.
He glared at Vincent fiercely, "Are you doubting me? Suspecting that I was the one who tampered with the Goblet of Fire?"
Moody quickly stepped forward to block Vincent, "Don't speak so loudly, Karkaroff, are you feeling guilty?"
"Why should I feel guilty?" Karkaroff was very emotional. "Why should I let Harry be chosen as the champion? It will do me absolutely no good!"
"Really?" Moody's magic eyes stared straight into his eyes, as if he could see through his thoughts at the moment, "Karkaroff, we have not forgotten that you once--"
"Alastor!" Dumbledore shouted, "Let's get back to the discussion of the Confounding Spell. We'll talk about that man's true intentions later."
There must be a way to make 100% sure that Harry will be chosen as the warrior, such as Vincent using powerful magic to delay the modification of the text on the parchment.
"I have already confirmed it last night. The name that person put in was not my name."
Besides Vincent, who else at Hogwarts is certain to be chosen as the Warrior?

Dumbledore pondered for a moment, then slowly uttered a name: "Cedric Diggory."
"That's impossible." Vincent shook his head in denial, "Sed successfully signed up at around 1 a.m."
Dumbledore looked at him oddly.
Vincent cleared his throat quickly, "Ahem - if I hadn't kept the good habit of night walks, I wouldn't have discovered that someone had tampered with the Goblet of Fire."
He revealed that he had violated school rules and found a plausible excuse. If Snape were present, his blood pressure would definitely rise.
Dumbledore shook his head helplessly, obviously having no intention of pursuing the matter.
After Cedric, who else is sure to be chosen as a warrior?
"Hmm..." Vincent looked at the Goblet of Fire, then turned to look at the three headmasters, "I think we have fallen into a misconception. The Confusion Spell may not be intended to make the Goblet of Fire think that Hogwarts should have two warriors."
The admiration in Moody's eyes grew stronger. "Indeed, this method is full of unknowns. That person's Confounding Spell is powerful enough to confuse the ancient magical object, the Goblet of Fire. He must have made a foolproof plan in advance."
Vincent nodded, "A person who thinks carefully and has a thorough plan will not take risks easily."
He leaned forward and looked at the Goblet of Fire in Dumbledore's hand. "If it were me, the easiest way would be to make it think there were four participating schools in total."
Harry is the only one who signed up for the fourth school, so the fourth warrior can only be Harry.
Vincent straightened up, his face was unusually calm, and his tone seemed to be talking about a trivial matter.
"Or maybe something more challenging, and use magic to add a rule to the Goblet of Fire that Harry must be the champion of this year."
