Chapter 960: The Tamed Exploding-Tailed Skrewt
Even when the skrewts grew to over three feet long, not even Hagrid could tell where their heads and eyes were.
Maybe they don't have heads and eyes, otherwise why would they rush around so wildly?
"Crackle--" The blasting-tailed skrewt that Vincent caught with his bare hands suddenly exploded violently.
Fortunately, he was prepared and tied it up tightly with a rope.
But this was just the beginning. Once the blasting-tailed skrewt was placed on the ground, it kept exploding, as if it was high on drugs.
Vincent pulled the rope hard and watched it jumping around in silence.
He was sure that as soon as he let go, this unique little thing would disappear into the distance as if it were accelerated by nitrous gas.
"Ah..." He sighed and turned to look at Hermione and the Delacour sisters.
Hermione was putting a rope on a smaller blasting-tailed skrewt, Gabrielle came closer to look at a larger one with curiosity, and Fleur slowly stretched out her hand.
Just when Vincent wanted to remind the Delacour sisters to be careful of the explosion, the blasting-tailed skrewt in front of them became strangely quiet.
"Crack--" Their exploding-tailed skrewts were turning their bodies, as if they were expressing something.
Furong stretched out her retracted little hand again and carefully touched the spikes on the shell.
The skrewt stopped spinning, its legs stretched out in all directions and curled up together, lying motionless, allowing her to stroke it gently.
Vincent wiped his eyes quickly, and after making sure that this was not an illusion, he pulled the rope in his hand hard.
This scene was so bizarre that he almost let a blasting-tailed skrewt escape.
Gabrielle followed her sister Fleur's example and held out her little hand, and her skrewt curled up its legs to let her touch it.
"A generous gift--" James, who was nearby, hurriedly covered his mouth.
These grumpy little chic creatures have actually been tamed?
Soon, the students around noticed this situation.
Hagrid strode over with an excited look on his face.
"Fleur, Gabrielle, how did you do it?"
"Hmm..." The Delacour sisters shook their heads at the same time after thinking for a moment.
"Okay." Hagrid was not disappointed. Instead, he stretched out his big hand towards the blasting-tailed skrewt in front of Fleur even more excitedly.
"Crackle—" Before his hand got close, the motionless skrewt suddenly exploded and sprayed straight to the edge of the box.
Hagrid grabbed it without caring about his burned hands.
This is the first time this has happened after raising it for so long.
He looked at it carefully for a few seconds before putting the skrewt back into the box. His big beetle-like eyes were full of expectation and hope. "Fleur, can you touch it again? I want to know why."
Fleur also wanted to know why, she nodded to Hagrid, "Of course, Professor Hagrid."
As she reached out her tiny hand and approached, the skrewt fell silent again.
Obviously, they have no heads or eyes, so it should be impossible for them to tell who is who.
However, reality is so unreasonable that as soon as Furong's fingertips touched the shell, it curled up its feet and remained motionless.
"Wow--" Hagrid exclaimed, his big beetle-like eyes shining.
He rubbed his hands together a little embarrassedly, "Can...can you please pick it up?"
Furong did not refuse his request this time, and carefully picked up the blasting-tailed skrewt with both hands.
It didn't struggle, as if it was asleep.
Hagrid looked at the skrewt, then at Fleur, scratching his head in annoyance.
"Now I am almost certain that they trust you very much, but I have no idea where this trust comes from."
Gabrielle then followed her sister's example and picked up the blasting-tailed skrewt, which made Hagrid even more distressed.
Could it be that... it's because the Delacour sisters are French?
Fleur held the skrewt in front of her face. "Professor Hagrid, could it be because of our bloodline?"
"Bloodline?" Hagrid slapped his forehead. "Yes! It must be because of this!"
The blast-tailed skrewt is the offspring of a manticore and a fire crab, while the Delacour sisters are the offspring of a veela and a wizard.
Strictly speaking, giants are classified as close relatives of humans, so hybrid giants cannot be considered cross-species combinations.
Then, it would make sense why the Delacour sisters had a natural liking for the blast-tailed skrewts.
This answer made Hagrid look extremely excited, and his bright big eyes sparkled with a different kind of brilliance.
Damn it, Vincent and Hermione had already imagined him breeding a bunch of weird cross-species hybrids.
"Ahem - Professor Hagrid."
Hagrid turned to look at Hermione.
She whispered in his ear, "The act of breeding blasting-end skrewts is a serious violation of the 1965 Ministry of Magic's ban on animal breeding experiments. If you have any other ideas, I'm afraid you might be..."
Hagrid knew what she hadn't said. What good would be the outcome of her repeated and serious violations of the law? She would definitely be put on the Ministry of Magic's list of dangerous people.
You can forget about becoming a professor at Hogwarts and there is a high possibility that you will be imprisoned in Azkaban.
Seeing that he realized the seriousness of the matter, Hermione was completely relieved.
Next was time for a walk, and the students finally felt what true despair was like.
Simo's blasting-tailed skreuterium exploded almost as it touched the ground, and the powerful thrust pulled him down.
He tried desperately to stand up, but the second explosion came.
"save--"
"Crack!"
His figure disappeared in the dust and went straight towards the Black Lake.
Hagrid didn't care about his image and hurriedly chased after him.
Simo's experience alerted everyone, but there are always people who don't believe it.
He tied Draco's blasting-tailed skrewt tightly with a rope and threw it on the ground and dragged it away.
Unfortunately, due to the poor quality of the rope, it broke after only a hundred meters of friction with the ground.
The skrewt was free, and it leaped high towards Draco with a burst of acceleration.
"Fake!"
His butt had an intimate contact with the spikes of the shell, and it hurt so much that he was about to cry.
"Crackle——" the jet acceleration came again.
Draco endured the pain and ran forward desperately, with the blasting-tailed skrewt chasing him desperately from behind.
Take a walk together? Don't be ridiculous. It can kill you.
Hagrid had just rescued Seamus and now had to rescue Draco, and he was so busy that his carefully groomed hair returned to its original messy state.
Vincent calmly watched the small commotion in the classroom and said, "Let's go for a walk too."
His blasting-tailed skrewts were no longer as active as they were at the beginning, but they would still explode occasionally.
Hermione's was smaller, so she had no problem holding the rope tight.
As for the Delacour sisters, they remained docile even after they came down to the ground, and were the only two skrewts that walked on their feet.
As for the remaining students, they all felt despair in their own way, but most of them were dragged forward.
