Chapter 1192 The Titans Who Didn't Know What's Good For Asgard
"Is he an idiot?" Aaron rubbed his forehead speechlessly, laughing in exasperation.
"Ragnarok, the end of Asgard, was actually caused by the kingdom's heir's carelessness."
"Hilarious, this is hilarious."
Wanda and Banner looked at each other, unsure of what to say.
"If it weren't for the timing, I would have stabbed you again," Hela said angrily to Thor. "Odin is truly doomed to have a son like you."
"It's just that he died too early, leaving no trace of his body; otherwise, he could have crawled out of his coffin and given you a good beating."
"Eh?"
Saul's face twitched; he couldn't take the blame alone.
It's too dark and too heavy.
"You, you also know that Surtur's Crown and the Eternal Flame are in the treasury, but you didn't consider Ragnarok either?"
"That's because I had no idea at the time that these two things could trigger Ragnarok, otherwise I would have thrown that crown to the ends of the universe long ago."
"You don't know?" Thor looked at her suspiciously, worried that she was trying to shift the blame.
"You weren't even born when I was sealed away!"
"Ragnarok is a prophecy to you, but to me it's more like a bedtime story," Hela said irritably. "I'm not naive enough to think Asgard won't end one day, but I never imagined it would be so soon, so ridiculously."
"And what about you, Loki?" Thor promptly changed his target. "Don't tell me you don't know. Odin has told you many secrets that I didn't know either."
"Ah, well..." Loki shrugged, revealing his signature smile. "How should I put it?"
Brother, you've disappointed me so much.
I initially thought you had some other reason for keeping that crown in the treasury, but it seems your brain capacity is a little smaller than I thought.
"Of course, this is not your fault, it is my fault. I overestimated your intelligence."
Thor: ......
Am I the only one who has to take the blame?
"Ahem! What's done is done, there's no point in pursuing it further."
“I don’t think so.” Loki seized the opportunity to annoy Thor, a mistake he could use to mock Thor for the rest of his life.
"The most urgent task is to stop Ragnarok," Thor said indignantly.
"Are you kidding me?" Loki pointed in the direction of Asgard. "The Fire Giant King in his prime could probably only be dealt with by Odin resurrected!"
After saying that, Loki immediately forced a friendly smile and looked at Hela, "My dear sister, I have absolute confidence in your strength."
But the prophecy foretold the destruction of Asgard, which will significantly impact you; you might not be able to defeat it even before Asgard is destroyed.
"If you want to leave, then leave. Take your mother and get out of here quickly."
I am the son of Odin. I have fulfilled my duty to protect my people; now I must protect my kingdom.
Loki: ...
I feel like I've been subtly insulted.
So you two are Odin's children, and I'm not?
Okay, I'm not, but I was adopted!
But it hurts to hear you say that. At this point, running away seems a bit inappropriate!
However... you still have to run.
He's not Hela, and Gaius might not necessarily rescue him.
He wasn't Thor either; he didn't have the powerful physique to survive the apocalypse.
Taking Frigga away safely and then trusting Odin's plan might be his best option at the moment.
Loki thought to himself, completely unaware that a large amount of crimson was being sprayed towards them.
"Loki," Thor's expression suddenly changed drastically, "Watch out behind you."
"What?" Loki looked back, puzzled. Everything inside the spaceship was normal, and there was no one else besides him.
Whoosh!Whoosh!Whoosh!
Countless fires the size of buckets struck the spaceship in succession, and a red alarm instantly appeared on the cockpit screen.
Caught off guard, Loki had no choice but to jump ship and escape.
He had just smashed through the windshield and jumped onto the Rainbow Bridge when the spaceship behind him exploded and crashed into the sea below.
"what the hell?"
Loki cursed and angrily turned to look.
A thick pillar of fire shot out from the gap in the energy barrier and soared into the sky.
Endless flames surged into the clouds, turning the sky blood red. Then, a rain of fire fell like hail, half of it falling into the sea, and the other half turning Asgard into a sea of fire.
Gulu!
Loki swallowed hard, feeling utterly lost.
At this moment, he couldn't help but doubt Odin's arrangements. Even if it was to stop Ragnarok, why risk his wife and children?
Now, apart from Frigga and her two siblings, it seems there are no other living people left in Asgard.
Rocket & Groot: ......
"Loki," Thor looked at him speechlessly, "Do you have any other ships?"
"What do you think?" Loki shrugged casually, then smiled nonchalantly, "The spaceship is destroyed, so be it. I was planning to stay and fight alongside you anyway."
"You... are you prepared for this?" Thor asked skeptically.
"For Asgard." Loki struck a righteous pose. Since he couldn't just run away, he had to at least act like a hero.
"Another one dragging us down," Hela said wearily. "I shouldn't have held back back on Earth. If I had just killed you all, we wouldn't have had so much trouble."
"How long will it take for Mother to arrive?" Loki asked, glancing at the teleportation chamber.
“The more the better,” Thor said, then looked at Hela. “Release the seal on me; that will buy us more time.”
Hela reluctantly scoffed and threw a ball of dark green energy at Thor.
Zizzi~
Thor spread his arms, blue arcs of electricity dancing at his fingertips.
Feeling the return of divine power, Thor finally felt a little more confident.
Without Mjolnir, if he can no longer use the power of Thor, he will have no choice but to rely on his physical body to fight the Fire Giant King head-on.
But that kind of death was not heroic at all; it was even a bit ridiculous.
"And you?" Hela asked Loki. "At least he can be cannon fodder. What use are you?"
"Don't have any expectations of him," Thor said bluntly. "His magic isn't up to the task of handling this kind of situation."
Furthermore, Thor is not cannon fodder.
"Uh... Brother, I'll say something you don't want to hear."
My magic might be a little more powerful than you think.
"Hmm!" Thor feigned an "I believe you" expression, then solemnly patted Loki on the shoulder. "You have only one task: to use your magic to protect your mother."
Once the Rainbow Bridge opens, take her with you and leave. You know where to go.
Loki shrugged dismissively, then looked at Hela, "Sister, can I borrow your pet first?"
Unlike you, my magic doesn't offer much of an advantage to physical strength.
"Fenris," Hela called out, and the giant wolf immediately ran over. "You cooperate with him."
The giant wolf growled, its green eyes fixed on Loki for a few seconds before reluctantly agreeing to its master's command.
"Loki, you should..."
"Shut up, Thor."
I spent several years on Sakaar before you came.
Thor paused for a moment, seemingly understanding something, and stopped insisting that Loki retreat to the back.
"Sister, how much longer can your barrier hold?" Thor looked at the transparent barrier riddled with holes and almost burned by flames, and at Surtur expanding within the barrier at a visible speed, and couldn't help but feel a little anxious.
“Less than a minute!” Hela said, her face grim. “If it weren’t for Ragnarok, Surtur wouldn’t have dared to be so presumptuous in front of me.”
Thor and Loki exchanged a glance and nodded knowingly.
“Sister, you’re not actually that…bad,” Thor said hesitantly. “Except for being a bit domineering, ruthless, cruel, and treating human life like dirt… um…”
Before he could finish speaking, Loki covered his mouth tightly.
Brother, if you can't speak properly, you can shut up. Didn't you notice that Hela's eyes have changed?
If you keep cursing like this, she might kill us—no, she might kill you—before she even faces Surtur.
"Let him speak, I'm listening," Hela said with a faint smile, but a sword of the night sky had already appeared in her hand.
Thor chuckled awkwardly and tactfully changed the subject, "I think we need a plan."
“No need,” Hela said firmly. “Battles at the Father level are never determined by plans or numbers. The only way to defeat Surtur now is through head-on confrontation.”
......
Monster Number.
"No, we can't let her fight, we absolutely can't let her fight," Wanda said anxiously. "We have to get her away from here right now, there's no time."
"Yeah! There's no time left." Aaron looked at the countdown on the screen, which only had a dozen seconds left, and then at the crumbling protective shield outside. He couldn't help but sigh deeply.
He gave Thanos the opportunity, but Thanos himself didn't want to seize it.
"Great Creator, Respected Captain," the prophet's apologetic voice rang out, "I am sorry that this voyage has brought you a bad experience. The monster ship's defensive energy is about to run out, so please prepare to transfer."
"Now we're entering the final countdown: ten, nine, eight..."
"Aaron, let's go!" Wanda's voice held a hint of pleading. "Just take Hela away. Ragnarok and Thanos won't concern us."
"I would like to, but if I take her away now, she will probably refuse my kindness, or rather... treat it as charity."
"No, I promise I won't."
"Don't worry, Hela is, after all, the Father of God and the master of Helheim."
Unless one commits suicide, dying is not so easy for a dimensional lord.
"But..."
"No buts, Hela can hold out for now. I have to deal with this ungrateful Titan outside first," Aaron said through gritted teeth. "I swear I won't be a god if I don't teach him a lesson."
"Five, four, three, two, one."
As the final countdown ended, the energy barrier outside the Monster disappeared, and a dense rain of blue lasers approached the spaceship almost instantly.
Just then, a huge circular portal appeared in front of the Monster, obscuring the entire spaceship, while on the other side of the portal was the back of the Temple ship.
Thanos, who had been watching the battle closely, suddenly frowned, only then noticing that a giant portal had also appeared behind the Sanctuary.
"Cease fire."
Thanos immediately gave the order, but it was too late.
The laser rain shot into the portal and then shot out from the portal behind the temple.
boom! boom! boom!
The temple trembled violently several times, and many of the areas hit by the explosions produced violent blasts.
Compared to the size of the temple, the damage caused by this round of shelling was not significant; at least many of its internal functions were still functioning normally.
"Magic? Who is it?" Hela, who was standing guard on the Rainbow Bridge, suddenly had a thought and looked up at the sky.
Her gaze pierced through the atmosphere, and she could only see two spaceships facing off.
One ship was dimly lit, as if it had run out of energy, while the other ship still had enough energy, but seemed to have lost its ability to attack.
"Asgard is really lively today," Hela grumbled indignantly.
Thor and Loki exchanged a glance, pretending to know nothing.
They had all signed the contract, so they couldn't say anything. Thor didn't even know that Thanos's ship was outside.
“Master,” a leader ran up to report on the ship’s situation, “most of the ship’s guns are severely damaged and cannot launch an effective attack in the short term.”
Thanos nodded expressionlessly, while secretly pondering in his mind.
Portals are Kamar-Taj's signature magic, but as far as he knows, the current Sorcerer Supreme has only just taken office and does not yet have the ability to open portals hundreds of meters in diameter.
That means the person on that spaceship wasn't the current guardian of the Time Stone, but either a mage even more powerful than the current Sorcerer Supreme, or a group of mages. Otherwise, there's no way to explain those two portals.
He personally leans towards the former, because the Kamar-Taj sorcerer's duty is to protect the Earth, and it's impossible for him to send a group of sorcerers in a spaceship to Asgard.
"The Ancient One's arrangement?" Thanos murmured thoughtfully. "She made some kind of deal with Odin, a deal related to Ragnarok."
"Whatever arrangements you make, if they will hinder my plans, then they cannot be allowed to live."
"Master, we..."
Thanos waved his hand, looking at the Infinity Stones in his left hand that emitted red, blue, orange, and purple light respectively, "This is a good warm-up before going to Earth."
"You guys repair the spaceship, I'll go and meet him myself."
“But Master, the outside world is the universe, and even you cannot survive in a vacuum for a long time.”
Thanos remained noncommittal, only silently clenching his left fist.
The blue space stone began to shimmer, adding an invisible armor to his body, isolating him from the vacuum environment, allowing him to move freely without restrictions in the universe.
"This, that's it?" Banner stared in disbelief, his mouth agape. Just a second ago, the Monster was about to be destroyed, but the next second, the situation reversed.
"For God, this is just basic operation, and it's normal that you can't understand it now."
However, I really don't want to use magic at this time; Hela has definitely noticed what's going on here.
