Chapter 1195 Thanos's Mysterious Confidence, the Chitauri Army's Demise
Thanos was filled with rage. When had the Titan of the Universe ever been looked down upon like this?
But he had to admit that Aaron's physical abilities were indeed superior to his, and not just by a little bit, but by a despairing, all-around crushing advantage.
Choosing to engage in close combat was a mistake. Luckily, he had four Infinity Stones, otherwise he really wouldn't have been able to deal with this kind of monster.
"I've asked you several times, but you've never given me a straight answer."
Your identity is sensitive, so you're unwilling or afraid to reveal it?
hiss!
Aaron gasped, remaining noncommittal.
As expected of Thanos, his intelligence far surpasses that of the villains he encountered before.
Unfortunately, just guessing this level isn't very useful.
Swish!
Aaron swung his arm, and two Rings of Raghadore appeared in his hands. "Sorry, I'm short on time and don't have time to play guessing games with you."
"Ragnarok?"
Thanos muttered to himself, "There must be something I overlooked in this doomsday prophecy."
As he pondered, two orange-red rings of Laggardor flew toward him.
Thanos instinctively wanted to destroy them, but the next moment his brain sent a frantic warning, and his body instinctively made a dodge first.
呲!
Two rings narrowly missed him, and behind him, a corner of the Temple spaceship was cut off in two pieces, which floated silently in space.
Thanos noticed this and his expression immediately darkened.
Damn, that's really damn shady.
This is hundreds of times more powerful than before. Does Kamar-Taj have such a melee mage?
The Titans' defenses are much tougher than a spaceship's, but if he had taken the hit head-on, he would have had at least two pieces of skin ripped off.
“Almost, but it’s okay.” Aaron said casually, then threw out several Rings of Laggardor.
Thanos clenched his left fist, and the Space Stone and Power Stone on his middle and index fingers began to glow.
The orange-red magic rings were precisely locked on during flight, exploding one after another.
"Ugh!"
Aaron sighed. He realized that Thanos would be even more difficult to deal with next, and would be even more reckless, using the Infinity Stones without regard for any consequences.
At that moment, the Reality Stone on the ring finger of the Infinity Gauntlet began to shine, and the flames from the explosion transformed into a swarm of bats that rushed towards him.
Aaron immediately summoned a huge portal and pushed it forward, intending to send the conjured creatures to the dark zone.
However, the blue spatial stone distorted space, and the portal turned into golden light spots and dissipated. The swarm of bloodthirsty bats flew smoothly to his side, revealing their sharp teeth.
What the hell!
Aaron cursed under his breath and decisively threw out two pressure point guns, firing wildly.
His arm flicked out afterimages, and blue arcs of electricity flashed continuously, barely managing to incapacitate the swarm of bats.
"Not bad!" Thanos praised, but Aaron was not at all relieved, because the Reality Stone was still shining, and the red light was extremely dazzling.
"Watch your step!" Wanda shouted.
Aaron paused for a moment, then looked down.
The bats that were unable to move all turned into bombs flashing red light, and he himself was surrounded by this circle of bombs.
Aaron's face twitched, and he almost instinctively wanted to get out of the area.
But just as he was about to make a move, he discovered that the place where he was standing had turned into a sticky swamp, and he couldn't put any strength into his legs.
"Gift crab!"
"Goodbye!" Thanos sneered, and at the same time used the Space Stone to lock down space, leaving Aaron with no chance of escape.
boom! boom! boom!
A series of explosions blasted a huge hole in the temple, and raging flames engulfed everything in sight.
Wanda took a step back in a daze, the red magic uncontrollably released, blowing her hair wildly and making her temperament cold and murderous.
"Calm down, calm down, Master is alright," Banner said hurriedly. "You forgot, Master is a god, an immortal god."
Such an explosion could kill us, but it poses no threat to him.
Wanda paused, her imposing aura gradually subsiding. "Really?"
“It couldn’t be more true.” Banner nodded with absolute certainty. “I am my master’s servant. If my master were gone, do you think we could survive?”
Wanda nodded thoughtfully, her gaze fixed on the direction of the explosion, even ignoring Hela, who was currently locked in a fierce battle with Surtur.
A moment later, a figure emerged from the crater left by the explosion.
Aaron casually brushed the dust off his clothes and gave Wanda a reassuring look.
"What's wrong with you?"
"How come I'm fine?" Aaron asked, half-jokingly.
“I locked down the space and buried you with a powerful bomb. At such close range and in such a short time, even if you are proficient in Kamar-Taj's defensive magic, you could not possibly emerge unscathed.”
Aaron adjusted his collar, looking slightly smug, and said, "This outfit was modified from the armor of an ancient god. Otherwise, do you think just anyone can breathe in the universe?"
Thanos's lips twitched involuntarily, so the reason he was unharmed was because he was wearing a special piece of equipment.
The artifacts of Kamar-Taj? That seems to be the only explanation.
Aaron glanced almost imperceptibly at Ragnarok. Loki's illusion had once again fooled Surtur, covering Hela's attack.
But judging from his pale face, his magic power must be almost depleted.
Time is running out; we must deal with Thanos as soon as possible, otherwise being held up here could jeopardize our plans.
"The situation is quite clear now," Aaron said, feigning ease. "Neither of us can do anything to the other in the short term, so we might as well each take a step back."
Go collect the last two Infinity Stones. I won't stop you, and you shouldn't get in my way.
He had just given Thanos a good beating and vented his anger. Plus, there was no punishment for failing the mission, so he had no psychological burden.
Thanos slowly shook his head, rejecting the suggestion.
"I believe my army will not let me down, and my children will retrieve the Heart Stone and the Time Stone for me."
You are an uncertain factor. I don't know what attracts you to Ragnarok, but for me it's nothing short of an opportunity to eliminate a threat.
Hearing this, Aaron felt inexplicably exhausted.
Sure enough, every villain has a mysterious self-confidence, but does he really look like an easy target?
"You will regret this."
"I won't regret making this decision."
"What I mean is, I'll make you regret this," Aaron said earnestly, while silently issuing new orders to Ark and the others.
"Wait and see."
Aaron clasped his hands together and released several crimson ropes.
These ropes precisely locked Thanos's five fingers, while weakening his body and mind, making it difficult for him to clench his fist for a short period of time.
Aaron then took a deep breath and slammed his palm down hard.
The entire temple is divided into two parts in the middle, rotating like a conveyor belt and gears.
A small number of soldiers inside entered space without warning. Unable to survive in a vacuum, they turned into ice sculptures at a visible speed.
The spot where Thanos was standing opened like a window, and he fell straight down without warning.
Inside the temple, the walls and floors rolled inward in a strange and unpredictable way, forming a twisted passageway.
Thanos felt like he had fallen into a bottomless pit. As he plummeted, the spinning pillars and sharp, heavy instruments constantly lashed at him. To make matters worse, a row of energy cannons launched attacks at him intermittently.
......
Gaius's divine kingdom.
Suddenly, Ark, Ramon, and Naga heard something and transformed into three beams of light—blue, green, and red—that converged atop the mountains.
The three sat in their respective seats, each with a different expression.
"You all heard what Master meant?" Ark spoke first. "It seems Master was quite angered by Thanos this time, otherwise he wouldn't have interfered with the fate of this universe."
"Thanos is indeed a bit ungrateful," Ramon said meaningfully. "It's a pity that the master can't reveal his identity, otherwise he would have been wiped out in no time."
Our mistress is in a bad situation right now; she's been tied up by Thanos outside Asgard...
"Wait, mistress?" Naga asked, confused. "You mean Hela, the goddess of death?"
"if not?"
"But the relationship between the master and her doesn't seem to be... as you described."
"And you call yourself a witch!" Ramon mocked without any attempt to hide his sarcasm. "Just because you're not one now doesn't mean you won't be one in the future. Have you ever seen the master so concerned about other women?"
Naga instinctively wanted to refute her old rival, but found herself speechless.
"I wonder how many mistresses the master will find for us?"
“That’s our master’s business, it’s none of our concern,” Ark interjected. “Let’s think about how to stop Thanos and save half of the universe’s life first!”
“To be honest, the chances aren’t great,” Ramon said, tapping the table. “Our master is fighting Thanos, but if it’s just Kamar-Taj magic, the odds are 40/60.”
"This ratio is a bit low!" Naga said with dissatisfaction. "Does Master only have a 60% chance of winning? It should at least be a 30% or 70% chance!"
No, you've misunderstood.
What I mean is that the master only has a 40% chance of winning.
"What? Do you know what you're saying?"
"Of the four Infinity Stones, Thanos only used the Soul Stone passively when his soul was ejected. He never used the Soul Stone again."
In other words, he's managed to hold out against his master for so long using only three Infinity Stones.
"Uh...that's pretty bad."
“What’s worse is that the master is in a hurry, while Thanos is clearly not lacking in patience,” Ark added. “In this situation, if the master wants to protect Hela, the goddess of death, during Ragnarok, he will have to reveal some of his other abilities.”
Only in this way can Thanos be suppressed and some time be gained.
"In other words, the master may not be able to stop Thanos from going to Earth to steal the Mind Stone and the Time Stone."
"It seems like Bucky is participating in the war to defend Earth!" Naga asked with interest. "How's the situation now?"
“You’ll see when you look.” Ark shrugged, then opened his left hand, and a ball of cyan energy appeared in his palm.
Ramon and Naga exchanged a glance, then each opened their palms, releasing green and red energy.
The three's magic converged in mid-air, and as familiars, they leveraged a portion of the faith stored in the divine kingdom by the God of Contract, forcibly locking onto the location coordinates of James Barnes, who was also a familiar in the real world.
Immediately afterward, a Wakanda projection appeared above the long table. Iron Man Stark and War Machine Rhodey flew back-to-back in mid-air, unleashing a barrage of fire on the Vanguards charging into the barrier. T'Challa was tackled to the ground by several Vanguards and struggled for a while before being blasted away by a purple shockwave released from his Vibranium suit. Steve Rogers was in a similar situation, struggling to use his shield to fend off the bites of several Vanguards. Fortunately, Bucky had been watching him closely and fired a shot in time to save him from danger. Peter Parker also activated his suit's kill mode... The superheroes fought individually yet helped each other, sharing most of the pressure.
But the battlefield was mostly a battle between the Vanguard Army and the Wakandan warriors, and the blood almost turned the not-so-clear river red.
The battle has continued, and the Vanguard Guards are still pouring into the barrier, but their numbers have decreased significantly, making it difficult for them to overwhelm the Wakanda defenders.
"Isn't that enough?" Proxima Midnight asked in a deep voice.
Ebony Maw nodded slightly. "Let's begin!"
Roar!
More than a dozen Chitauri Leviathan warships plunged into the atmosphere one after another, heading straight for Wakanda. Even faster than the warships were the Chitauri soldiers piloting small airships.
Although the Zeta Swiss soldiers are fewer in number than the Vanguard, they have higher intelligence and more advanced weaponry, which can bring greater psychological pressure at this time.
“My God!” Natasha swallowed hard when she saw the familiar enemy. “This reminds me of the Battle of New York.”
“No.” Patton shot down the onrushing vanguard with a serious expression. “This is much more exciting than the Battle of New York.”
The enemy outnumbers us many times over, and we're not just the Avengers.
“Tony, how long will it take them to arrive?” Steve asked.
“The forwards take one minute, the Leviathans behind them take three,” Tony said. “The good news is that those ships can’t get through the barrier, the bad news is that each ship has hundreds of Zeta Swiss soldiers on board.”
"Fury, what happened to the promised air force support?!"
“They’ll need exactly one minute, at least one minute,” Nick Fury said seriously. “Besides, I don’t think the air force can handle those Leviathan warships.”
"So, what about your secret weapon? When will it arrive?"
Nick Fury subconsciously rubbed the pager in his hand, and before he could say anything, a muffled sound came through the earpiece.
"Ok?"
Nick Fury looked at the screen and saw a giant hammer suddenly fly in from outside the barrier, knocking Tony and Rhodey away together.
Then the giant hammer was retrieved by a mechanical arm and landed in Black Dwarf's hand.
At Ebony Maw's nod, Black Dwarf entered the barrier and began wreaking havoc.
At the same time, a violent tremor suddenly came from the ground.
A row of huge, sharp gears burrowed into the barrier from underground and then emerged from the ground.
