Chapter 2850 Why Does My Wife Follow Me Every Day? 09
It was dark.
At two o'clock in the morning, Yun Jian was awakened from his sleep by excruciating pain. He felt as if he were soaking in mud, and a feeling of suffocation washed over him.
He frowned, his fingertips gripping the sheets, crumpling them.
This pain is familiar; it happens a few days every month, like a reminder from the body that he is not truly human.
A rabbit hopped onto the bed and gently nudged his hand with its nose.
Yun Jian opened his eyes, his gaze somewhat unfocused. He reached out and touched the rabbit's head, his fingers still trembling slightly.
"It's okay...don't come any closer," he said in a low voice, his high nose rubbing against the pillow in pain.
The pain continued. Yun Jian sat up, leaned against the headboard, and unconsciously looked towards the window.
The two buildings have similar structures. His bedroom is the second bedroom on the second floor, and the window faces the master bedroom window on the second floor of the coffee shop.
Sometimes, he would see Jin Chen walking around in the room or standing by the window at night. It didn't happen often, but Yun Jian would watch quietly each time until Jin Chen left the window.
Tonight, that window is dark.
Jin Chen should already be asleep.
Yun Jian stared at the dark window for a long time, the chaotic pain making his thoughts unclear.
The impulse surged within me, harder to control than usual.
Let's take a look.
Just a glance...
We must go, we must go, we must go.
Yun Jian threw off the covers and stepped barefoot onto the floor.
Under the moonlight, the long shadow slowly shrank.
-
Jin Chen was awakened by the noise.
The room was dark, and Jin Chen looked towards the window.
A white shadow slipped in through the crack in the window and landed on the carpet.
Jinchen: "..."
He sat up and turned on the bedside lamp.
The warm yellow light illuminated the room, and also the rabbit on the carpet.
It was a very large rabbit with snow-white fur. It looked up at you, its red eyes sparkling under the light.
Jin Chen leaned against the headboard, most of his sleepiness gone, but he was still a little dazed.
He glanced instinctively at the closed bedroom door, then at the window, which was slightly ajar, letting in a cool night breeze that stirred the thin curtains.
Where did this rabbit come from? It's bigger than a regular rabbit, with thick fur, and it's round like a fluffy ball.
When the rabbit saw that he was awake, it hopped around a couple of times, jumped to the edge of the bed, and then tried to jump back onto the bed.
Jin Chen reached out and lifted it up by the scruff of its neck.
The rabbit didn't struggle; it just looked at him with its red eyes and twitched its nose.
"You climbed up through the window?" Jin Chen muttered to himself, picked up the rabbit, looked at it, and walked to the window.
The window in Yun Jian's bedroom was also slightly ajar.
"Are you Yun Jian's rabbit?" Jin Chen asked, looking down.
"How could this be?" Yun Jian thought. "How could I hear my own name at this moment? It's unbelievable..."
The rabbit didn't answer; it just rubbed its head against his fingers.
My wife raises rabbits, so I can't just ignore them.
Jin Chen put it back on the carpet and tapped its forehead. "What are you doing here so late?"
The rabbit hopped up again, this time leaping directly onto the bed, snuggling into his arms, finding a comfortable spot, resting its head against his chest, its long ears drooping down against his arm.
Jin Chen instinctively caught it. It was soft and fluffy, with thick fur, and its body temperature was higher than that of humans. Holding it in his arms felt like holding a hand warmer.
Jin Chen sat back down on the bed with the rabbit in his arms, his fingers stroking its fur, slowly moving down to the base of its round tail.
The rabbit suddenly turned its head, opened its three-lobed mouth, and caught his fingertip.
Jin Chen let it carry the food in its mouth, and rubbed its cheek with his thumb. "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
The rabbit released his fingers, looked at him with its red eyes, and snuggled closer to him.
Jin Chen thought for a moment, then picked up his phone with one hand and sent a message to Yun Jian: "Your rabbit has run to my place. It's very well-behaved. I'll return it to you tomorrow morning."
After sending the message, he turned off his phone and looked down at the rabbit in his arms.
The rabbit looked up at him, its red eyes shining like two jewels in the lamplight.
Jin Chen lifted the rabbit up and looked at it from above. "It's so soft, but I'm going to sleep now."
After saying that, he put the rabbit on the bed, pressed it down with one hand, and stroked its fur from its head to its back.
The rabbit wiggled a little at first, but quickly went limp and turned into a flat rabbit pancake, its eyes half-closed and its ears drooping in comfort.
Jin Chen found a towel, spread it on the carpet next to the bed, put the rabbit on it, and then covered it with a small blanket.
"Go to sleep." Jin Chen tapped its forehead. "I'm going to treat your master to dinner tomorrow."
He turned off the bedside lamp and lay down again.
The rabbit on the towel opened its eyes.
The red eyes gleamed faintly in the darkness, gazing intently at the sleeping person on the bed. After a long while, the rabbit gently got up, shook its fur, jumped off the carpet, and slipped out through the crack in the window.
-
Yun Jian closed the window, and the moment the window closed, the rabbit disappeared and a human figure appeared.
He collapsed onto the bed, his body limp. When Jin Chen stroked his fur in his arms, most of the pain subsided, but an even stronger sensation followed.
Yun Jian lay on the bed, his eyes flushed red, his breathing unsteady, and he was about to lose his composure, his pupils turning red.
Unable to restrain himself, he curled his knuckles and bit them, letting out a suppressed chuckle, muttering to himself with a fascination in his voice, his eyes gazing unfocused at the ceiling.
"So lovely……"
The scene from just now replayed in his mind: Jin Chen wearing pajamas, his hair a little messy, his face still stunningly handsome despite being sleepy, his eyelashes drooping as he looked down at his phone...
Every frame made his heart race and his blood boil.
Yun Jian turned over, buried himself in the pillow, his shoulders swaying slightly, and he laughed in a somewhat silly manner.
Two rabbits hopped onto the bed, snuggled up to his face, and chirped, accusing him of being too impulsive.
Yun Jian lifted her head from under the pillow and glanced at them. "I know I've been very restrained."
If he hadn't restrained himself, he would have wanted to stay in Jin Chen's arms the whole time, or even crawl into his bed and sleep next to him.
A rabbit stomped its foot, "Chirp chirp chirp!"
“He won’t find out that it’s mine,” Yun Jian said softly, “and… I can’t help it.”
He lay back down, looking at the ceiling, savoring the feeling of being petted by Jin Chen. His well-defined knuckles rested on his back, stroking his hair in the direction of its growth, making him feel so comfortable that he almost melted.
"I've been looking at him the whole time. He has beautiful eyes and beautiful hands. He even touched me..."
The two rabbits were still chattering away.
“What human tranquilizer…” Yun Jian murmured in protest, “You can’t say that about him, he even invited me to dinner tomorrow…”
Yun Jian's eyes sparkled. "I'm going to do my best."
Two rabbits: "..."
The two rabbits looked at each other, both seeing speechlessness in each other's eyes.
They jumped off the bed and ignored it.
Yun Jian rested on the bed for a long time until the trembling in his body completely subsided, but his excitement and anticipation only grew stronger, so he got up and went to his desk.
The computer screen is on, showing Jin Chen's bedroom.
The photo was taken from the windowsill, where the vase is located.
Looking from this angle, you can see Jin Chen's bed; the person on the bed is lying on their side, still fast asleep.
Yun Jian stared at the monitor screen. Jin Chen, who was asleep, looked much gentler than during the day. His eyebrows were relaxed, his lips were slightly pursed, and his hair was scattered on the pillow.
He reached out and lightly touched the screen with his fingertips.
If he could sleep with Jin Chen... Yun Jian thought, he would be very careful not to wake him, he would pull the blanket up for him, and he would gently kiss his earlobe and the corner of his lips.
Yun Jian bit his tongue, the pain snapping him out of his reverie.
We cannot go now.
Not yet.
It will scare him; we need to take it slow.
He had gone to great lengths to acquire the camera, disguising it as flower petals and hiding it in a bouquet. It was a miniature device commonly used in underground entertainment venues, so he wasn't worried at all that Jin Chen would discover it.
Yun Jian turned off the computer and lay back down on the bed.
He needs to go to sleep quickly.
It's almost dawn.
He will be able to see Jin Chen after dawn.
