Chapter 2062 The Queen Returns (20)
Qu Song, his assistant, Hu Mianmian, and the police searched all day but found nothing.
The police officer said regretfully, "A day and a night have passed, and the child still hasn't been found. The chances of her surviving are extremely slim."
Qu Song was shocked and felt dizzy. How could the child really be missing?
Hu Mianmian pretended to comfort him, saying, "Brother Qu, we can't blame you. It's all her fault for being playful. She knew she was in an unfamiliar place but still ran around. We didn't want anything to happen."
Qu Song, holding his head, said with a mix of anger and guilt, "What do we do now? Su Yan will be here soon."
"Even if she comes, we still have to be reasonable. Nobody wants an accident to happen."
The assistant glanced at Hu Mianmian and chose to remain silent.
The hotel said the child hadn't returned, and the entrance/exit to the snow mountain couldn't prove the child had left.
But she always felt that the child hadn't come out at all, but she didn't dare to say it. She thought it was better to avoid trouble, and she had no evidence to prove that the child hadn't come out.
As the group sat in the hotel lobby, unsure of what to do, they heard the sound of footsteps getting closer and closer.
Looking up, Qu Song saw Su Yan and instinctively felt a little guilty.
"What are you doing sitting here? Where's the child?"
"The child...the child...the child is missing."
"What did you say? Say it again!" Su Yan asked coldly.
Hu Mianmian immediately explained, "She clearly came back with me yesterday, but when we called her to have dinner, she wasn't in her room. We've been looking for her all day, and we don't know where she went."
"Are you sure she went back to the hotel yesterday?" Su Yan asked Hu Mianmian coldly.
Hu Mianmian said with certainty, "I'm sure. We came back together. She just ran ahead of me and I walked behind her. If she hadn't come back, I would definitely have known."
"Snapped!"
"Why did you hit me?" Qu Song covered his face, glaring angrily at Su Yan.
"I entrusted my daughter to you, and you can't even protect a child. Shouldn't you be beaten?"
After saying that, Su Yan slapped him twice more.
The surrounding guests stared at the group and whispered among themselves.
"What happened over there?"
"They seem like celebrities."
"I heard that the child was lost and couldn't be found all night."
"What a tragedy! To not find the child all night in such cold weather, the child is most likely dead."
"Poor child, may God bless her."
......
Qu Song said aggrievedly, "If you hit me again, I'll fight back. I'm also very worried about the child being lost. I've been looking for her all night. It's all her fault for being playful and running around on her own."
Hu Mianmian also feigned sadness and said, "Yes, we have done our best. Nobody wanted this kind of accident to happen."
Su Yan looked at her again and said coldly, "Are you sure you came back with her?"
"I'm sure," Hu Mianmian said firmly.
She told so many lies that she started to believe them herself.
"Snapped!"
"Why did you hit me?"
"Why are you hitting Mianmian too?"
"Hmph, she's lying. She didn't come back with Baozhu at all. She didn't call Baozhu. The police and the hotel can't be lying."
“I don’t know what happened either, but we did come back together. You can’t conclude that she didn’t come back just because the police said they didn’t see her return.”
"Snapped!"
"What are you doing!"
Hu Mianmian had tears in her eyes, as if she had suffered a great injustice.
Qu Song blocked her behind him and angrily rebuked, "If you have a problem, take it out on me. Why are you taking it out on Mianmian?"
"Clap!"
Su Yan slapped Qu Song twice more.
"If I'm going to come at you, I'll come at you. Do you think I won't hit you? You lost my daughter, and you still have the nerve to yell at me here."
Qu Song was both angry and guilty. Now that Su Yan had hit him like this, he retorted in a fit of despair, "What can I do if the child can't find me? It's not like I lost her on purpose. If you hit me again, I won't be polite to you."
"Heh, I suspect that you and your lover deliberately lost my daughter. I'm going to sue you for murder. I shouldn't have entrusted the child to you. If something happens to the child, you'll never have a good life."
"You're crazy. I already said it was her own fault for being playful. What does it have to do with me? I've tried my best to find her."
"I'm going to sue you for murder."
Hu Mianmian almost lost her balance because she felt guilty, and Qu Song quickly supported her.
"What, are you feeling guilty?"
"Mianmian didn't get a good night's rest because she was looking for the child last night. Don't slander her."
"Whether it's slander or not, you can tell the police later."
"Su Yan, you're crazy. I already said it was an accident. You're just saying this on purpose to get revenge on me, aren't you?"
Su Yan took out her phone to call the police. Qu Song tried to grab the phone but was kicked to the ground by Su Yan.
Hu Mianmian rushed over and helped her up. She looked aggrieved and said, "Sister Su Yan, please stop making a fuss. The child's accident was an accident. Even if you call the police, you won't have any evidence when they arrive."
"Hehe, that's not necessarily true."
The police returned shortly after, and Su Yan told them directly that she suspected the two men of murdering her child.
Qu Song hurriedly explained to the police: "The child's situation was an accident. She's just making things up here; she has no evidence at all."
Hu Mianmian also said, "That's right, the police have already investigated. The child is just missing. Don't waste the police's time here."
The police looked at Su Yan, who said, "I'm going to sue them for murder. He's my ex-husband, and she's his mistress. I suspect they're the ones who wanted to kill my daughter."
This time, the police took it seriously and began taking statements from Qu Song and Hu Mianmian separately.
Hu Mianmian stuck to her old story, insisting that the child had come back with her.
Without direct evidence, the police had no choice but to release the person.
"I've already said that the child's disappearance was an accident, and it has nothing to do with us." Hu Mianmian was still trying to justify herself, speaking as if it were the truth.
I thought that at this point, the matter would remain an unsolved case.
Just as they were about to leave the police station, the missing child suddenly reappeared.
"Dad, I got lost in the snowy mountains yesterday. Why didn't you wait for me?"
"Baozhu! You're back!"
"Baozhu, I'm so glad you're alright."
The police officer quickly asked the child what he had just said.
Baozhu then explained clearly, "Yesterday I was skiing and it was getting dark, but when I turned around I couldn't find my dad."
When Qu Song saw Su Yan's piercing gaze, he quickly explained, "I went back to rest early. My assistant and Mianmian are still with her at the ski resort."
Baozhu cried and said, "No, I didn't see anyone after I finished skiing, except for Baozhu."
"How is that possible? Didn't Aunt Mianmian say you came back together?"
"No, she didn't wait for me at all. Baozhu was very scared and didn't know what to do in the snow mountain."
Qu Song and his assistant looked at Hu Mianmian with suspicion.
Hu Mianmian's mind raced; she absolutely could not admit it.
