Chapter 1546: Army Escape
The little pirate didn't hesitate either. He picked up his things and ran over there, shouting as he ran: "Don't worry, I'll take care of it!"
Children ran around the base camp, their laughter as clear and melodious as silver bells. Some children watched the chefs prepare food with curiosity, their eyes full of novelty and anticipation.
"Uncle, is this delicious?" a little girl asked with blinking eyes, pointing at the food being cooked in the pot.
The chef smiled and touched the little girl's head, saying, "Of course it's delicious. It'll be ready soon. Eat more."
As time went by, the grass was gradually filled with large pots and various delicacies. The air was filled with tempting aromas: the aroma of barbecue, the freshness of seafood, and the fragrance of various spices, which mixed together to form a unique and mouth-watering flavor.
The sun gradually set, casting a golden afterglow over the base camp, draping everything in it with a golden veil. In the distance, the outlines of warships loomed faintly above the horizon, like a group of returning heroes.
"The captain and the others are back!" Someone shouted, and everyone stopped what they were doing and looked towards the horizon. They saw warships breaking through the waves, their flags fluttering in the wind, as if announcing their triumphant return.
A grand carnival banquet is about to begin in this base camp filled with laughter and joy...
..............................
By this time, the Army base camp had been reduced to a sea of flames. The raging flames spread recklessly, engulfing every inch of the structure. Thick smoke billowed into the sky, shrouding the once solemn and dignified camp in a gloomy darkness. In the flames, the faces of the Army soldiers were filled with despair and struggle. Their cries and screams mingled like a tragic elegy.
"You escort the marshal away, I'll stay behind to cover your retreat." Aqiduo gripped the hilt tightly, her knuckles turning white from the strain. Blood dripped from the wound on her arm, dripping onto the ground, glaring in the firelight. Her eyes revealed a firmness and resolve, like an unshakable mountain, unflinching even in the face of despair.
"Lieutenant General Aqiduo, leave this to us. You should leave with us!" the surrounding soldiers urged, their eyes filled with worry and reluctance. In this brutal battle, Aqiduo had long been their backbone, and they couldn't bear to see her face such a dangerous situation alone.
"Stop talking nonsense! Get out of here!" Aqiduo shouted, her voice filled with undeniable authority. She knew that every second of delay would diminish the Marshal's chances of escape. She had to buy enough time for the Marshal's evacuation, even if it meant sacrificing her own life.
Suddenly, her expression hardened, her keen intuition allowing her to sense danger. Blade in hand, she unleashed two fierce slashes without hesitation. Like two bolts of lightning, they instantly sliced through the air, whistling forward. Unable to dodge, two revolutionary soldiers were struck, blood splattering as they collapsed to the ground.
However, the Revolutionary Army's offensive didn't cease. Three more men pounced like hungry wolves, their eyes filled with ferocity and greed, intent on capturing Achido in one fell swoop. Undeterred, Achido dove between them like a ghost. Her blade swung with impenetrable force, each strike imbued with immense power and precise precision. With three sharp "puff, puff, puff" blows, she dispatched the three Revolutionary Army soldiers one by one, her blade and her clothes stained red with blood.
"Surrender!" Just then, Betty approached with a steady, steady stride, carrying the banner. She observed Achido's expression and, while she admired her courage and strength, she knew that continuing the fight would be detrimental to both sides. So, she spoke, her voice tinged with sincerity.
"Surrender doesn't exist in my vocabulary," Aqiduo said coldly, a flicker of determination in her eyes. She knew that surrender meant abandoning her dignity and beliefs, betraying her country and her army. She would rather die on the battlefield than yield to the enemy.
As soon as she finished speaking, Achido charged forward like an arrow from a bow. She had a single thought in mind: Capture the leader first. Capturing Betty might give them a chance to turn the tables. If they could control Betty, a crucial figure in the revolutionary army, they might be able to turn the tide of the battle and restore some face for the army.
Betty looked at the charging Aqido, her eyes clear of any panic. She planted the flag in the ground, quickly forming hand seals with her hands, muttering something. Instantly, the surrounding air began to surge, and an invisible force gathered around her.
"It's not that easy to catch me!" Betty shouted, thrusting her hands forward. A powerful airflow swept towards Aqido. The airflow was like a strong wind, making Aqido's clothes rustle and greatly hindering her progress.
Achido gritted her teeth, struggling to resist the blast. She held the knife across her body, crouching slightly, as steady as a tree rooted in the earth. Against the blast, she trudged towards Betty, step by step, with difficulty.
"Is that all you can do?" Aqiduo shouted, her voice full of provocation. She knew that only by angering Betty and making her reveal her flaws would she have a chance to catch her.
Betty sneered and said, "Don't be too complacent, Lieutenant General Aqiduo." After that, she waved the flag in her hand again and disappeared. The ground around her suddenly began to shake. Then.
Aqido's eyes flashed, and she quickly dodged to the side, while swinging the knife in her hand continuously, cutting off the earth spikes that approached her one by one.
However, the number of earth thorns was increasing, making her overwhelmed.
At this moment, a revolutionary soldier took the opportunity to attack Aqiduo from the side. Aqiduo felt the danger behind her, and without thinking too much, she turned her body suddenly and slashed backwards with the knife in her hand.
With a clang, the knife and the weapon collided, sending sparks flying. Achido took advantage of the situation and kicked the revolutionary soldier in the chest, sending him flying.
But this distraction gave Betty an opportunity. She held the knife in both hands, and a massive wall of fire rose from in front of her, sweeping towards Achido. The fire was so hot that it distorted the air wherever it passed.
Achido was forced back repeatedly by the wall of fire, her hair and clothes curling up from the flames. She stared at the wall of fire before her, groaning inwardly. But she didn't give up. She took a deep breath, concentrated all her strength on her sword, and then slashed at the wall of fire.
"Break!" Achido shouted, her blade colliding with the wall of fire with a resounding bang. A gap was cut into the wall by her blade, and Achido seized the opportunity to rush out through the gap, charging towards Betty once again... This fierce battle continued, and the fate of the Army Headquarters was also precarious in this battle.
