Chapter 1547: The Army's Escape
"Where are we going?" An army soldier who escaped looked nervously at the burning island behind him, his voice filled with unconcealable fear and helplessness.
The island had now turned into a sea of fire. The scorching flames were like mad beasts, devouring everything wantonly. Thick smoke covered the sky and seemed to drag the entire world into the abyss of darkness.
"Run out first, run as far as you can." Another soldier shouted at the top of his voice, his eyes full of panic, and his hands unconsciously grasping the side of the boat tightly.
At this critical moment of life and death, escape became the only thought in their minds.
"That's right, run, life comes first, nothing else matters!" Another soldier echoed, his voice becoming sharp and shrill due to excessive tension.
At this moment, all honor and responsibility were thrown out of the window, and saving their lives was the top priority.
"Run for your life, stop talking." An old soldier frowned, his eyes revealing fatigue and despair. He waved his hand, signaling everyone not to waste time arguing.
Warships and small boats fled frantically on the turbulent sea like frightened schools of fish.
The huge body of the warship was tossing and turning in the waves, making a creaking sound, as if it would be swallowed by the violent sea at any time.
The small boat swayed from side to side in the waves, like a fragile leaf, which could be overturned by the waves at any time.
Some soldiers were paddling kayaks, holding the oars and paddling desperately.
The veins on their arms bulged from the excessive exertion, and sweat soaked their clothes and flowed down their cheeks.
Every time they rowed the oars, it seemed as if they had used up all their strength, but they dared not slack off for a moment, because if they paused for a moment, they might be caught up by the danger behind them.
"Hurry up, faster!" A soldier paddling a kayak shouted to his companions beside him, his voice hoarse with anxiety.
They could all feel that the threat of death was following closely behind them, like a shadow.
"I... I have no strength left." The companion next to him said breathlessly.
His hands were numb and the oars seemed to weigh a thousand pounds in his hands.
"Hold on, don't stop!" The first soldier gritted his teeth, his eyes revealing determination.
He knew that if they stopped, death would be waiting for them.
On the sea, kayaks could be seen overturned by waves from time to time, and soldiers fell into the icy sea, shouting in despair.
They struggled desperately in the water, trying to grab anything that could save their lives, but it was often in vain.
The waves submerged them again and again, and threw them up again and again, as if playing with these helpless lives.
"Help!" A soldier who fell into the water stretched out his hand and shouted towards the nearby boat.
But the surrounding ships were all in a hurry to escape and had no time to pay attention to him. His voice gradually faded and finally disappeared in the surging waves.
In the distant sky, the Revolutionary Army's ability users were circling at low altitude like ferocious falcons.
They dropped bombs from time to time, which exploded on the sea surface, causing huge splashes of water.
The water splashed down on the fleeing soldiers like raindrops, making them even more miserable.
"Be careful of the bomb!" a soldier shouted, his voice full of fear.
Every time a bomb exploded, they were terrified, as if death was hovering around them.
"Run over there, there seems to be no revolutionary army there!" A soldier suddenly pointed to the front and shouted, with a glimmer of hope in his eyes.
Upon hearing this, the other soldiers looked in that direction, as if they saw the dawn of life.
So they turned around and fled desperately towards the seemingly safe sea area.
However, they did not know whether what was waiting for them ahead was real life or another more terrifying trap.
On this vast ocean, they are like a group of headless flies, flying around in panic, just to find a glimmer of hope for survival in this desperate situation.
