Chapter 1662 Borsalino Makes His Move Again
The black tunnel created by Shigaraki Tomura was like an inexhaustible well of demons, from which more and more Nomu emerged, crashing against the Navy's defenses like a tidal wave.
Its sheer size and destructive power have reached a point where even a naval admiral has no choice but to intervene.
These mindless, pain-insensitive modified monsters are assaulting the already tense naval formation.
Ordinary soldiers' fragile bodies were no match for them; they were often knocked away in a single encounter. Even the tall, giant generals roared and joined the battle against the Nomu.
Although the Nomu are less than half the height of a Titan vice admiral, when they swing their thick arms to clash with the Titan officers' weapons or fists, the sheer power they unleash is almost the same.
This power, which defies common sense, even impressed some scientists watching from afar via screens, who marveled at it as a miracle of biotechnology.
"How can these monsters be so powerful?!"
A giant vice admiral wielded a massive axe covered in Armament Haki, forcefully cleaving a headless creature in two, splattering black and red blood and tissue everywhere.
Before he could catch his breath, more brains, fearless of death, swarmed around him, their hard bodies directly ramming into the giant's massive form, forcing the giant general to stagger backward and leaving deep footprints on the ground.
"Were these all created by giants?"
"How could hundreds of giants disappear all at once? They must be clones!" another giant lieutenant general roared during the battle.
He tried to sense the presence of his kind from these monsters. They were a mixture of biological fragments from various races, a twisted creation forcibly hybridized from different biological parts.
Perhaps only some aspect, such as muscle strength or bone density, utilized the giant's biological information.
Kizaru Borsalino hovered in mid-air, watching the increasingly chaotic naval lines below, which were on the verge of being overwhelmed by the Nomu tide.
He glanced again at the black tunnels that were still spewing out monsters, and at Shigaraki Tomura standing beside Blackbeard, his face contorted with morbid excitement.
“Sometimes, I really hate biological sciences~” He pursed his lips and fixed his gaze on Shigaraki Tomura.
"You bunch of scientific lunatics, all you do is bad things, you can't do a single good thing!"
Before he finished speaking, his entire body suddenly transformed into a dazzling golden light, instantly rising to a higher altitude. He raised his arms horizontally, palms facing each other, and blinding golden light points gathered wildly between his palms.
"Your scientific masterpieces are so ugly that they need a complete cleansing."
"The Eight-Span Curved Jewel—!!!"
In the next instant, Admiral Kizaru unleashed one of his signature techniques, which was slightly different from the usual barrage of light bullets.
The thousands upon thousands of dazzling golden specks, after leaving his palm, did not fall directly, but instead stretched rapidly in the air.
The light spots rapidly extended and lengthened, transforming into slender and elongated swords of light. Thousands of these swords of light were densely arranged in the sky, their tips pointing directly downwards.
"Whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh—!!"
The countless lightsabers, like a deathly rain formed from solidified light, poured down on the group of brainless beings that had just landed below.
Lightsabers are not just decorative items; they possess extreme penetrating power and extremely high temperatures.
Even the physically strong and pain-resistant Nomu were completely unable to withstand the barrage of lightsabers as dense as a torrential rain.
Some of the mindless creatures roared and crossed their arms high, trying to withstand the attack, but the lightsabers easily pierced their tough skin and muscles, pinning them to the ground.
Some were even more unlucky, their bodies being pierced and cut by multiple lightsabers that attacked simultaneously, instantly being cleaved into several pieces.
Severed hands, feet, and heads flew everywhere, and black and red blood and tissue rapidly turned into a pile of dismembered corpses in the golden light.
A single wave of lightsaber rained down, completely wiping out the hundreds of brainless warriors who had been teleported out by Shigaraki Tomura and had not yet gained a foothold.
Kizaru's gaze fell upon the black tunnels that were still writhing and spewing black mist. "Now we need to deal with these annoying portals."
He sighed, but his movements were swift and decisive. "Can't you give me a break tonight?"
He raised his right hand again, high towards the night sky.
A thick, solid golden beam of light shot up from his palm and pierced the sky.
At first, the beam of light did not show any aggression; it simply stood quietly between heaven and earth.
Blackbeard Teach's expression suddenly changed, a strong sense of crisis welling up in his heart. He abruptly looked up and saw that a strange change had occurred in the night sky directly above where the New Blackbeard Pirates were located.
Centered on the golden beam of light, concentric golden halos rippled outwards in all directions at an astonishing speed.
Almost in the blink of an eye, an array of golden halos formed, covering the entire area above the Blackbeard Pirates' headquarters.
At the center of these golden halos, swords identical to the previous ones, but with even more concentrated light, began to gradually grow from the halos, slowly and steadily protruding their sharp tips downwards.
The number was far more than tens of thousands; the entire sky seemed to be filled with these sharp blades of light poised to strike.
"Fall," Kizaru uttered the same word, but this time the coldness in his voice was clearly aimed at killing.
The next moment, the countless light swords covering the sky transformed once again into an unprecedented rain of light swords with an extremely terrifying density, crashing down towards the area where the Blackbeard Pirates were located and those black tunnels.
This attack was no longer targeted at the Nomu, but indiscriminately covered the entire area.
Countless lightsabers, like divine spears of punishment, easily pierced and tore through the teleportation tunnels formed by black mist, destroying them.
The teleportation was abruptly interrupted, and no more brainwashing emerged. "Damn Kizaru—!"
Blackbeard Teach's eyes widened in fury as he watched the surprise attack his officers had painstakingly prepared crumble so easily, and as the devastating rain of lightsabers rained down on him and his men.
"You're going to ruin my plans again! Have I ever really offended you?!"
In my anger, an unpleasant memory suddenly surfaced.
On Drum Island, he was almost killed by that damned Flash, while Ace and Luffy, who were also present, were clearly let off easy by him.
The Navy hadn't even managed to seriously injure the brothers, and the mix of old and new grudges nearly drove Teach to madness.
But his survival instinct kicked in, and a thick, dark mist surged from above his head, rapidly expanding and completely enveloping his body.
The darkness seemed to devour everything; when the lightsaber fell into it, it was like a stone sinking into the sea, only causing a few ripples before disappearing completely.
As for the other officers, they'll have to rely on their own abilities. Any officer who can't survive a hail of lightsabers doesn't deserve to be Blackbeard's soldier.
