It Will Be Alright

Amelia POV

“Granny?” My eyes widened in surprise, unable to believe my ears.” I think that would be better, young lady,” She held my hands, slowly. “Yes ma'am, yes!” Mr. Samuel, the gatekeeper, shrieked happily.

Yeah, I've always known he had wanted me out of this place, he's not pleased with the way I'm being treated in the house, but he couldn't voice out, not when his job is at stake. And of course, who would?

“Granny…”

“Who's this woman, Amelia?” Mom inquired coldly again, interrupting me; her fury eyes burning into my body. “I will definitely introduce myself to you personally, but I would like Amelia to decide first before I do that,” Granny slams back. I let out a long breath as I looked down at my feet, granny was still holding my hands.

I can't just leave my home like this and follow a stranger, although, not a complete stranger, but I barely know her.

I lifted my head, and it landed on the gatekeeper. He was rubbing his palms together, pleading with his eyes earnestly that I shouldn't reject the offer. I have two options, is either I follow granny or mom get arrested. What do I do? If I follow granny, won't I regret my decision later?

“Amelia, are you being serious right now?” Mom's voice cut off my muse. I took my eyes to her figure and she was already coming close. “Don't tell me you're thinking of leaving this house?” She grunted.

“Yes mom, I'll follow granny” I announced, meeting with her burning eyes, but those eyes turned soft rather shocked immediately I spoke. “Are you out of your mind, you're planning to follow a total stranger?” Her eyes dimmed. “Isn't it better than being enslaved here?” I queried, moving closer to her.

“You treated me like a piece of rag, and you claim you're my mother? I became absolutely nothing to you since the arrival of Callie and Clare mom, you detest me right from sight and give no damn about me” My voice choked with emotions, while tears stung my eyes. “Look granny, it was my mom, she threw an object at my forehead just because she had to call me twice before I heard her from the kitchen” The tears were now flowing freely from my eyes as I explained to granny, who has already had tears in her eyes too.

I held Granny's hand before going on my knees slowly. “Granny, please take me away from here. I don't ever want to come to this place again… Please” I plea, weeping softly.

“Yes granny, I'll forever worship you if you could please take dear Amelia away from her supposed mom,” Mr. Samuel expressed.

Granny made me stood up, wiping my tears with her palm. “Please stop crying” Granny cooed, and I just gave a nod, sniffing back the pending tears.

“Okay, have you gone crazy too? What do you mean supposed?” Mom scowled at Mr. Samuel. “Then, how do you explain your ill-treatment towards her?” Mr. Samuel flared, and I was dumbfounded, his outburst surprised even mom.

“Could you please appear as the witness at the police station then?” Granny requested,, and my eyes bulged instantly. “Gladly, ma'am,” Mr. Samuel responded as a happy smile spread on his face. “And I hope you know your job ends here immediately,” Mom turned to Mr. Samuel and snarled.

And we all watched as Mr. Samuel let out a mischievous laugh. “I already made a vow that Immediately Amelia leaves this house, then I'll be resigning as well. She's the reason I stayed up to this moment,” He says, bringing more tears to my eyes. "Mr. Samuel” I called and ran to embrace him.

“So, what else do you have to say, you little witch?” Granny snorted, but mom ashamedly brought her head down, without saying a word. “If you have nothing to say, then awaits the police in your house any moment from now, I don't care if you're her mother or not, all I know is that you're getting punished” Granny said dryly and began to walk towards the door, where I was standing with the maid and Mr. Samuel.

“And another thing,” Granny paused and turned to mom again. “You might not be invited, no, what am I saying? You might probably be in jail then. I love Amelia for my grandson, so they'll be getting married very soon,” Granny announced, and I felt a bang inside my head. What? I blinked my eyes rapidly before Mr. Samuel and I exchanged a quick glance… Okay, what's she saying?

Kiara POV

"Hell no, Nicholas, I'm never working as his personal assistant!” I shouted at him on the phone, my chest heaving up and down.

“Breathe babe, calm down,” He urges me, and I slowly released a sigh before planting my ass on a single couch in the living room.

“So tell me something, what happened, why don't you want to work as his personal assistant? He inquired calmly, and it was at that moment reality whipped me like body blows. I ran a hand down my hair as I sought for the right words. The CEO was the first guy I've ever felt a thing for in my entire life, and I'm afraid the thing that has started to evaporate will begin to generate once I become his personal assistant. I made a facepalm at my supposed response.

“Hello, Kiara, Are you there?” I breathe out heavily before speaking up, “You know, the CEO was kind of cranky, he was quite cold with his remarks. Plus, his rude stares… Gosh! Nick, can't I just seek employment elsewhere?” I requested, I plea rather.

“I didn't expect less from a young CEO as him, but don't worry babes, you'll be alright” He assured. I sighed, here he comes again.

“Nicholas…”

“Do you want me to come over?” He asked, purposely cut me short, and I could feel him grinning already. “If you want,” I rolled my eyes. “I know you want me to, will be there in a jiffy” He said and hung up, almost immediately. I tossed my phone on the table before getting on my feet. I picked my handbag on the long sofa and made my way into my room.

The flat black shoes was the first thing I removed from my feet. “Argh” I've never worn something like that before, today was my first.

Nicholas had bought and brought them here himself yesterday. He bought many of them in brand different styles, and a lot of work related dresses. Uh mm… I counted my steps towards the dressing mirror and his face suddenly came displaying on it and I felt my stomach tightened as I stared at his good-looking face on the mirror.

After what feels like forever, I shut my eyes and exhaled softly, I turned to the bed and lay flat on it. I'm losing it!
