Fifty-seven - Because he got the girl
“Y-you will?” Even the look in her eyes had Nathaniel almost groaning. She always did a good job of teasing him and he doubted she was aware she did.
“Yes.” He watched on as her face frowned into a thinking one and he did not miss how her hand seemed to join the contemplation. It tried to hover the part he wanted her hands to be.
Truthfully, he wanted her hands everywhere. Ever since she clutched the side of his face as lovingly as possible, he had always wondered how it would feel to have her warm touch here and there.
“Okay,” came her simple response and Nathaniel suddenly felt bad. It was almost like he was forcing her to do it. She probably agreed so she wouldn’t look bad, he thought. And Nathaniel instantly decided to ignore the want in his system and do things the right way.
The painfully slow, but right way.
Gathering her face in his hands even though uncomfortably, he said, “Don’t worry, it will happen when we finally have our date.” Something came over her face, something he didn’t know how to interprete.
Perhaps it was dissapointment? He wondered.
Quietly, he gathered her into his arms and hugged her closer. If at all she happened to be disappointed by his change of mind, she wouldn’t be for long. He had been craving her for so long, time seemed to be an enemy to his needs already.
Ever since he caught a glimpse of her half naked body, he had not been able to get rid of the image. Along with her interesting personality, that image tortured many nights of his. While awake and asleep likewise.
“Nathaniel?” And the way her voice spelled his name like it was a song… it only had him wondering how she would sound were she moaning it. He felt his body twitch a bit. “That Axion deal you are giving to Anderson…”
Nathaniel who was still building fantasies looked her in the eye- it didn’t surprise him that he wasn’t mad at her for initiating a conversation on that topic. “Yeah?” came his throaty reply.
“Are you giving it because of the investigation you are making?”
“Yes.” She wasn’t dumb too. He liked that a lot. But her smartness got her dealing with issues like Amir’s which almost got her drugged and got her taken captive.
His heart clenched as he recalled the state she was in when they finally found her. If only he had been more adamant about her not helping Amir. But she was certainly stubborn, she probably would have ignored him eventually.
“I see.” Chloe placed a hand on his chest and as his body hardened, the fantasies came back. “You will have to let them know at some point,” she pushed further.
“When I have found concrete answers.”
“But-”
“Chloe?” Nathaniel was beginning to feel uncomfortable. His body was giving him signs as well as reprimanding him for having her so close. But what could he do? She made him feel good in so many ways. “Let’s have our date tomorrow.”
“Uh?” Surely she hadn’t forgotten the little hint he gave her then. As he recalled the look on her face then, he slowly sat up and she did too, looking flushed as well as confused.
She looked like a teen who had just been told it was time to explore her sexuality with a fiery kiss from a hot bad boy.
After a quick kiss to her forehead, he got up and said, “Make sure to dress sexy.” His eyes roamed the fitted clothes she had on. “Sexier than you are now.”
As his eyes followed the way she swallowed some invisible lump, he smiled and walked towards the bathroom.
Good.
It was very good that he wasn’t the only one being affected. And that certainly made the whole thing more interesting.

While Nathaniel was taking a bath and Chloe leaving his room for hers while her brain tried to keep her entire system calm, Gabriel, Amir and Sebastian remained in the conversation room, thick look on their faces.
“We need to stop Nathaniel’s madness,” Gabriel’s voice broke the silence.
“I wouldn’t call it madness. I believe he has a plan,” Amir returned.
“A plan?” The disagreeing man tucked his hands underneath his chin. “What kind of plan would he have that would have him doing something so risky? We should try to pry him for some more information. There is something he isn’t telling us.”
“And you think he would happily tell you if you ask him?” Sebastian joined the contemplation. “You know Nathaniel Gabe, he won’t drop a single word.”
Gabriel found himself sighing as he sat back. “So are we just going to sit back and watch him hand over that deal to our number one rival?”
Amir’s eyes finally left the phone which he had them glued on. “What do you want us to do? If he won’t give information, let’s just see how his plan works out. Hopefully it doesn’t backfire.”
“Hopefully?” Gabriel scoffed. “We need to get a whiff of his plan because that backfiring part already sounds like it will destroy us.”
“What should we do then?”
Gabriel ignored the tiredness in Amir’s eyes and slight disinterest in his voice. “Let’s ask for Chloe’s help.” Amir’s interest surged instantly. “She can ask him what is going on with whole deal thing and I am eighty percent certain he will give her a small gist.”
“Why would you want to drag her into this Gabe? Let her be. Because of us, she has been through so much already.” Amir’s face wore guilt, he was no doubt still hitting himself because she got captured.
Gabriel instantly gave up the idea. “You are right. I guess we can only hope nothing goes wrong.”
“But…” Amir looked his friend dead in the eye. “Why do you have so little faith in Nathaniel now? You never really questioned crazier things he did in the past.”
“I don’t think it is the faith thing that is the problem.” Gabriel adjusted and sat back majestically and stared ahead, a serious look on his face. “I am angry at him.”
Sebastian who had been too busy with his tech stuff asked, “Why?”
“Because he got the girl.” It was Amir that replied and Gabriel punctuated it with another sigh.
