Chapter 54: So Close
He rests one hand on the back of the couch and with the other he traces the neck of her shirt, then he puts his hand on the back of her neck. As he leans in and kisses her very softly, he gazes into her eyes, searching for an answer. She feels electricity run through her veins, as if she stuck her finger in an electrical socket.
Not being able to stop herself, she pushes him back gently and climbs on his lap, then he kisses her deeply. His velvety tongue engulfing hers while his hands move down her back to her hips. She exchanges kisses with him, and she feels her body burning from the inside out. Her nipples pointing, rub against his naked chest and he moans as his erection swells between her legs. He jerks back and stops touching her as if she burnt him.
“I’m sorry. I can’t do this.” He picks her up so easily and puts her down on the couch. “I wasn’t thinking. If we did this, it would ruin our friendship. And you don’t need any more complications.” His eyes glisten in the fire light as he stares at the logs burn. He runs his hands down his lap as he tries to regain composure.
He gets up suddenly and turns to her before saying breathlessly, “I don’t know about you, but I could use a drink.” When he returns, she is still. He sits down and hands her a glass of wine. The room is quiet for a few minutes, until he breaks the silence. “Are you o.k.? You have not said anything. Are you mad at me?”
She takes a slow drink of wine and then, “I’m o.k. and I’m not mad. I was just thinking.” She takes another sip from the glass.
“Good, I thought for a few minutes there, that you were mad at me.” His eyes peer so deeply into hers that she feels like he is reaching into her soul. “I suggest we go to bed and sleep before we do something we would regret in the morning. O.k.?” He cannot turn away from her as he waits for her answer. His gaze trails down her face to her breasts and then down to her legs.
She sees him staring at her, so she quickly stands up and heads to the bedroom. “O.k. come on. Are you sure you want to get in bed with me?” She flutters her lashes at him and then laughs. He playfully swats her ass and follows her into the bedroom, pulling the covers down and sitting on the bed as she props up the pillow.
He starts to unzip his shorts as he becomes aware of her watching him. He pulls them down and then gets in bed. Noticing that it feels a little hot in the room, he does not pull the covers up. Instead, he just lays on his back watching the shadows dance around the room. She moves closer to him and rests her head on his chest. She really likes sleeping this way, because she hears his heartbeat, and she feels the warmth of his skin.
It made her feel safe and warm, but tonight it feels different. She gets goosebumps all over her body, even though she feels extremely hot. Somehow, she manages to fall asleep anyway after what seems like forever.
In the morning, she wakes up and notices he is not there. She gets up and pulls her dress out of the dryer. She carries it into the living room and looks for him. He is nowhere to be found. He must have gone out for a walk or something. She decides to change before he gets back. She takes off his shirt, pulling it over her head. While standing there for a minute straightening out her hair, Joel opens the door. When he looks up, he sees her standing there naked again.
A seductive smile forms on his lips, grabbing her bra she puts it on as he moves behind her. He stands so close she can feel his breath on her neck and his hands move to fasten it for her. He picks up her dress from the couch and pulls it over her arms as his hands slide down her skin. Joel's lips touch the back of her neck softly with hot kisses that feel like fire.
His hands travel down her breasts and then slowly down to her panties. She feels him hard against her lower back. Leaning into her, his kisses leave hot little fires on the back of her neck. He pulls up her dress to expose her lacy panties, sliding his hand inside. His fingers rub her clit, and she feels like she could just burst. She gasps as his finger enters her. Moaning, he slides in and out. One finger, then two. After a minute he slides in three.
He kisses the back of her neck again as his fingers slide in and out over and over, until she explodes. He feels her shiver as she clamps down on his fingers. Gently taking his hand out of her panties, he pulls her dress down.
He walks over to the window as she gathers herself. Confused, she wonders what she did wrong. He turns to her and seeing the confusion in her eyes, he explains. “You looked like you could use that. Maybe, you can think straight now, because when we touch, we are playing with fire. It would be too hot for you to handle.” Kelly ponders this for a few minutes.
“Why did you disappear this morning?” She perches on the arm of the couch.
He walks to her and stands over her, “I needed to clear my head and a good brisk walk in the fresh air does that.”
“I don’t think that we should be alone together till you work out your issues. I thought I could help you, but all I did was complicate things. I am sorry. I really think you should go before we make things even worse.”
She stands up, about an inch from his face. She can feel his breath warm her as she contemplates what to say. “Will I see you before I leave?”
“Of course, I’m dying to find out what you decide.” His eyes light up with the hope of seeing her again.
“Goodbye.” She kisses him softly and then walks away.
When she gets back to her house, she takes a nice long hot shower. It helps her unwind from the tension surrounding her. Just after she gets out, she hears the phone ringing. As Kelly picks it up, she notices that it is Samantha. “Hi, what’s up?”
“I wondered what happened yesterday.” Samantha awaits an answer.
“I haven’t decided anything yet, if that is what you mean.” Kelly sits down on a chair in the kitchen. She wraps the towel tight around her and crosses her legs.
“No, that is not what I meant. I want to hear more about this mystery man next door. He seems very intriguing. I might even know a little bit about him if he’s who I think he is.” Samantha sounds excited on the phone.
“Well, his name is Joel Greer, and he was a well-known artist a couple of years ago, then he stopped painting. His fiancé left him, and he moved out here to hide from everyone. He’s also a millionaire.” She uncrosses her legs and gets up to retrieve a pretty blouse and skirt from her dresser. Putting them on the bed, she accidently drops her towel to the ground.
“I knew it, I have heard of him. I went to one of his gallery openings about three years ago. The newspapers said that he was a hot artist, with a lot of passion. I bet he is that way in bed too.” Samantha giggles. “Have you figured that out yet?”
She puts on her blouse, “No, sis. I have not. We are only friends. Although, it almost ended up more.” She grabs her skirt and pulls it up over her hips.
“What do you mean?” Samantha sounds like she is going to explode.
“Let us just say that he told me that we can’t be alone again until I figure out exactly what my situation is. He said that I’m playing with fire when we are alone together.” She breathes heavily.
“He kissed me and all I could think about was making love to him. I did not even care about anything or anyone else. Am I a bad person?” She makes her way to the living room and sits down on the sofa. She turns the T.V. on.
“No, I think you were swept up in the moment. It sounds like more than a friendship though. I remember from meeting him, that he is super handsome. Those blue eyes felt like they pierced right through me. He was so charming too. The woman who ends up with him, is incredibly lucky.”
She thinks for a minute before she tells Samantha, “I can’t believe that I have slept in his bed twice now and I didn’t have sex with him, then this morning he caught me naked again. He dressed me slowly from behind, all the while putting hot little kisses on the back of my neck, then he slid his fingers down my panties and made me cum. How hot is that?”
