Chapter 14
It felt as if a hole was drilled into Lily's heart. His words hurt her so badly that she prayed and wished she could just get rid of her feelings for him.
She always called him her angel and hero within her but he was showing the negative of those thoughts in her head.
They both said nothing all through the drive. Lily had told Liam to not bother coming to her place as she would go meet him.
Liam was waiting patiently in the cafe for Lily to come. Once she stepped down from the car, he felt his breath seize. Even though she was dressed simple in a floral dress and white canvas, she looked breathtaking. He wondered if she was human or an angel.
As she walked towards the cafe, he adjusted his suit. He noticed her bodyguard standing just beside the car, making no attempt to follow her as always.
Just before they reached their destination, Lily told Chris to not bother following her and that he should wait in the car.
Chris walked back into the car, slammed the door hard and groaned frustratingly. He was starting to lose it all, confused and unsure of what to do.
All his life after the situation with his ex, he has been able to handle things perfectly and remain calm no matter the situation but now it was hard. Ever since he let Lily touch him was when all his senses got lost.
He would flare up easily and it was as if she knew where and where his buttons were. He stared at Lily and Liam from inside the car.
The way Lily smiled as Lily wrapped his arms around her engulfing her in a hug riled him up. He knew this would happen sooner or later but what he wasn't expecting was for it to happen this soon. Lily looked happy as she stared at Liam.
He pulled the chair back for her so she could sit before he sat down to join her. They both smiled at once another before making their orders.
At that moment, Chris wished he had powers to hear people's conversation even from afar. When he looked at them, he couldn't help but think they were match made in heaven. They looked perfect together.
A man like Liam would be able to take care of Lily and give her all that she wanted, those were his thoughts but what he didn't know was that money doesn't mean you have it whole.
Having a person is more than enough but to him, he felt money was it. He decided to take his eyes off then because as he stared at them, he felt his heart sink and his stomach churn.
"I wasn't expecting you to come when I asked," Liam said his thoughts to Lily.
She smiled a little, she was kinda nervous. It has been a long time since she went on dates or tried to have a civil conversation with men. She was getting to know Liam and she knew within her they'd be good friends.
"Why do you think so? You didn't leave a bad impression on me, did you?" She asked as her brows raised up slightly.
"Oh I did. That's true. But then again we can never tell, not all girls are that friendly to speak to people," he defended.
"Silly! That's bullshit," she laughed.
He found her laugh pleasing to his ears. As she spoke, he found it charming and everything she did was charming and beautiful to him. He thought he was starting to run mad as he couldn't look elsewhere other than her.
She tucked her hair that fell on her face at the back of her ear. "You did leave a good impression and besides we were both speaking to one another nicely so there is no reason why I would reject," she explained.
"I'm honoured," he cleared his throat.
Lily then looked at him, he did look nice although he wasn't dressed much. Just a simple t-shirt and jeans and he looked good but then again she thought Chris would look hotter in an outfit as Liam.
She shrugged off those thoughts from her head once she realised what she was doing. She was doing it again, thinking of Chris when she shouldn't know well she ruined their friendship that was yet to start.
"So Lily, is there something on your mind?" He asked. He was unsure of what to do. He didn't know her preference and things she might like so he could tell them to do it. He only invited her for coffee to know those things.
He believed he would be able to win her heart now that she said he left a good impression on her. That gave him more motivation to keep going on.
"Something like what?" She asked him unsure of what he meant.
"I mean... What do you like to do and places you like to at...you know, like when you just want some space?"
"Ohh, that's what you mean. Okay, let see," she placed her index finger on her chin thinking of her answer. She didn't really have a place to be when she wanted space from the entire world.
All her life revolves around her ex friends and their choice of place. How she is alone, she never really gives it a thought.
"I'm not sure. I've never really thought of that," she replied honestly.
Liam brows raised up slightly, "Are you for real? You don't have a place you like to be or I'm kinda confused. Enlighten me." He suggested.
She cleared her throat. "Up until a few days ago, I never really thought of that. Up until a few ago I was never alone. It was always my friends and I. We had everything all planned out. We would go to places together so I never really thought I'd ever need a reason to be a alone or thought of myself in a situation where I need space."
"Wow..." He breathed out.
"That's quite interesting. So you mean you do not really have your own time. I'm now interested to know how your life was before I met you."
"You were so stupid letting things get that far Stacy!" Ariana yelled. They were bailed last night after proving that they were innocent and it was all for self defense.
Stacy was unable to go back home as she knew her dad would kill her if he found out what happened. It was Ariana's father who came to bail them.
Now the two girls were all seated in Ariana's room, shouting and blaming one another.
"What was I supposed to do? Let him get away with it? He was trying to take advantage!" She defended.
Ariana scoffed, "He was but he didn't and you could have done other things instead of hitting him with your heels! Are you trying to kill someone? You are so unbelievable!" She spat out, planting her hand on her waist.
"So imagine if I had done nothing and he ended up taking advantage, what would you have done or what the fuck am I saying!" She groaned frustratingly.
"That's your problem to deal with Stacy! I don't give a fuck but don't ever do something that will ever make me take my leg to the station or else I promise to ruin you," she warned, pointing her index finger at Stacy.
"You are a bitch," Stacy scoffed.
"No you are the bitch," Ariana retorted.
"You are a bitch Ari and that's a fact! You are an ungrateful bitch! I will not stand and see my friend being taken advantage of and watch by. I might have taken your side when you had that issue with Lily but I didn't because I didn't like Lily that much. I saw her as a show off but you are worse!" Stacy spat out.
To say Ariana was furious would be an understatement. She was extremely furious. If she was an anime character, the steam that she felt in her head would be visible.
If one thing Ariana hated was being compared to Lily. She has always seen Lily as someone who had what she didn't have. She always felt inferior towards Lily which is why she always acted bossy and acted as the smart one not to feel too bad.
The fact that Stacy had involved Lily into this pissed her off. The hate she already had for Lily in her heart increased from level fifty to level hundred.
"You are a bitch! You should be grateful to me! You are just a stupid girl who doesn't know anything. You are just a bitch who literally let's anyone sleep with her as long as they help her forget her problem! And what's worse you are a bitch whose father is sleeping with you!" She spat out.
Stacy's heart broke into a thousand pieces. The pain and anger she felt was well visible on her face. Her eyes welled up in tears as she clenched her fist tightly.
She regretted ever letting the alcohol get the best of her and expose the one secret she kept buried in the pit of her belly.
"You are...you are..." She was short of words. She wanted to hurt Ariana just as much as Ariana hurt her and she searched her brain for the perfect words to use against her.
Compared to them who shared all of their secrets to Ariana, Ariana hardly shared hers to them making it hard for them to use anything against her.
"I should not be surprised. That's what you are. A bitch! Someone who uses everything they could against their friends. I'm beginning to wonder if you ever considered us your friends. You would say anything to hurt them and do anything to make them feel bad. Fine, I sleep around to get over my pain and what about you?"
"You literally act like the boss, the one who is the smartest of us all but then you are just a selfish bastard who uses us as a shield."
"No one is your servant, no one is beneath you and I won't leave my friends to be taken advantage of and not do anything! You hear me Ariana! If it was up to you, you would have ignored and let that man do whatever after all that's who you are and then you will blame it on the alcohol."
"From today henceforth, I, Stacy Marielle Lucas, swear to it every tie I have with you. I can not deal with a self conceited bitch! I cannot deal with a hypocrite! I cannot deal with a bitch who would hurt others with what she has and know about that!"
"You see this thing between us," she pointed at Ariana and then at her. She snuggled a little, wiping the lone tears that rolled down her cheek. "It's over!"
Ariana laughed hysterically. "As if I care! All my life, I have been the one caring for all of you. Dealing with your shits and now I put you in your place, you feel betrayed?" She scoffed.
"Guess what? I am not a broken bitch like you, I will never be a broken bitch like you! I am not like any of your girls who can't fix your broken lives. I do not need you girls, all of you need me. Firstly Lily was that bitch and secondly you are the bitch and I can't wait for Dorothy to come up with her own mess!"
Stacy scoffed, "I shouldn't be surprised because I knew all of this and I saw all of this yet I closed my eyes. This isn't me and yes I ain't perfect but guess what? No one is! All humans are not even robots, they end up running out of power or have one issue or the other! Only God is perfect so keep that in your dumb head bitch!"
After saying that, Stacy walked out of her room, making sure to slam the door hard.
