Chapter 8
Ariana glanced at Chris from head to toe. She could tell something was bothering him but she didn't know what it could be.
Chris decided to walk the other way since he wasn't in no mood to speak to her but she blocked his part. He glared at her but she smiled in return.
"You look super hot with a glaring face, I'm fucking dripping beneath me," she said seductively, batting her lashing in a way that churned his stomach.
He decided to ignore and walk towards the other side but she blocked him again. This was the reason he hated rich heiresses, they felt they could do anything and hurt people knowing well.
"I am in a hurry and I would appreciate if you leave me the fuck alone," he spat out through gritted teeth, clenching his fist as he controlled his temper.
She shuddered, "I love your voice. Damn, I love your angry voice, it's soothing. Oh my ovaries!" She exclaimed.
Chris walked the other way and she blocked him but this time, he pushed her, making her stagger but she didn't fall. Her eyes widened in surprise as she watched him walk past her. She couldn't believe he did such.
"Just wait and see Chris, you will fuck me soon." She spat out. She hugged and went back in.
Chris placed his hands on the sink in the restroom. He was trying to control his hurt. He knew he had no right to complain. He knew he was nothing and he hated that he was so affected by whatever she was doing.
Lily searched for Chris after she left the dance floor with Liam. While she danced with Liam, she wished it was Chris who held her the way Liam did.
"So Lily, will you give me your number?" He asked to bring her back from her reverie.
Lily was distracted as she looked around for Chris. "Oh," she muttered.
She just met him but she didn't find it wrong giving him her number after all he has been nothing but nice she met him.
She smiled, she took his phone and put her digit in it. She continued to search for Chris with her eyes.
Liam noticed Lily was distracted so he decided to ask her what it was that could be bothering her. She smiled and shrugged it off.
"Come on, you can tell me. I thought we were friends," he said.
"It's really nothing Liam. I'm just admiring the place," she lied.
"Oh, so what are you studying at the moment?" He asked, trying to start a conversation.
"Nothing at the moment but I am planning to enrol in an online course. All my life I've been homeschooled until high school when my dad decided to let me get an insight on the outside world, where I met my first real friends or fake friends. I used to be friends with them up until four days ago, so my life is a mess at the moment," she rambled and Liam chuckled lightly.
"Slow down. Is it something you wanna talk about?" He asked and she heaved a sigh.
"You see, I just realised I wanted to fit in and was never me. I'm gonna be fine, that's for sure. I'm not in college yet but will enrol this year, online class..." He interjected.
"For security purposes, right?" He asked and she nodded.
They both exhaled together and chuckled once they realised it. "Life of the rich is kinda hard most times, so I can relate," Liam self.
"I know right. People feel I am bossy which I know I am and I guess people only wanted me for what I have and that's why I never got a real friend. I thought I did but I guess I didn't really know what it meant when someone calls you their friend."
"That's bad. What do you plan on studying?" Liam asked.
"Catering. Nutritional, dietician, anything related to health. I just want to have knowledge on many things which is why I'm gonna go for six months courses and get a certificate." She explained.
"You have to be peculiar, hope you know?" He said to her and she shrugged.
"I do want to but then again I do not have that drive. In the end, I'm gonna take over my father's company so I need knowledge in almost every aspect." She clarified.
"You know I wish I did get more expose earlier, maybe I would find my zeal and direction but here I am realising what I should have worked on after losing people I once considered friends."
Liam listened to Lily with admiration. There was something about her that intrigued him and he wanted to get to know her more and be more to her. She looked beautiful although she had little makeup on and the way her eyes fluttered as she spoke made his heart beat race faster than normal.
While she spoke, he looked and admired her features. She looked delicate and spoke softly. He has met so many women but none captivated him the way Lily did.
Lily stopped speaking once her eyes finally saw Chris. Her heart beat with excitement as she saw him walking towards her father.
From the moment her eyes met him, she knew she was in deep trouble. He was her angel who saved her looking perfectly good while fighting.
Liam's eyes followed Lily and he saw she was looking at Chris. He didn't know that Chris was a bodyguard and mistook him as a rich man. He wondered who the man was for him to make Lily's face lit up so brightly once she saw him.
Lily didn't notice Liam looking at her and Chris and she wasn't bothered at all. Chris whispered something to Lily's father before he walked away.
Lily's eyes followed him to where he was going. She let out a sigh of relief when she saw him standing close to the other bodyguards.
"So who is he?" Liam asked.
Lily startled a little from Liam's close proximity. "Oh, who?" She batted her dad yes, feigning ignorance.
Liam pointed at Chris, "Him."
Lily sighed, "Oh, you mean Chris? He is my personal bodyguard," she said, intentionally mentioning bodyguard.
"Oh," Liam muttered. He was relieved Chris wasn't from a prominent family as he didn't want a competition yet when pursuing Lily.
He wouldn't mind the challenge at all as long as it was Lily but he just didn't want someone equally as hot as him or even more.
Lily trailed Chris as he walked away. Chris didn't know she was trailing him. He couldn't stand and look at Lily talking and smiling with another man, it ached him so much.
Lily wanted to speak to him, to have a little moment with him before the night ended. Chris began to notice he was being followed and so he decided to change his path and instead of going to the restroom as he planned, he took the sharp corner part and hid behind.
Lily groaned in annoyance when she lost him. She walked and began to search for him. Just as she was about to take the sharp corner path, she was pulled.
Chris placed his palm on her mouth to avoid her shouting. He didn't know it was her and she didn't know it was him. After a while he realised who was following him and he pushed her off.
"Ouch!" Lily groaned from his harsh push.
"So unmanly of you and most especially to your boss," she chastised.
"So wrong of you to stalk me," he retorted and she scoffed.
"What is it you want and why were you following me sneakily?" He asked.
"You have been missing and appearing so I was curious to know where you are going," she said.
"Really? Is that your problem and why do you know all that? Shouldn't you be focussed on the suitors you were with?" He said jealously before realizing what he said.
Lily smiled, "How do I look?" She asked, wanting to see his reaction.
She shook his head and clicked his tongue, "why should I care and why do you ask?"
She pouted her lips. "You were literally eye fucking me this evening when I was coming down the stairs and now you are acting obnoxious? Spare me this little act, it ain't professional," she chided.
"I was eye fucking you? Why would I? You obviously have nothing pleasing to see. Your chest would be considered the same as mine if not for your pretty face and long hair." After spatting out those words to her, he regretted it.
Her face literally changed from cheesy to sour. "What are you insinuating?" She asked, her eyes boring him.
"Lily, let's go already, I do not want to keep speaking to you here and now because we might give people the wrong impression," he said.
"Really? And you are bothered? You are acting as if you haven't eaten me out Andi haven't sucked your balls!" She exclaimed.
