##Chapter 5
Diana Markovic

"Lady, calm down. They left another girl behind as well. Her name is Ramona, and she is and will be staying here until next week, when flights will be available from the city next door.
- Next week? Flights available? — I grabbed my hair in total despair — How long will I have to stay in this end of the world that doesn't even have a plane? I muttered the last sentence to myself.
I didn't want to hurt anyone. Although I was speaking the truth about that place being a backwater that had nothing good about it.
— With the break from the heavy rains in the United States, the plane that was here had to go immediately to California, they said they counted the number of passengers who were there at eight in the morning and there weren't any missing. I think they were mistaken. the woman explained with a patience unknown to me.
“Oh, you think? - my anger was so great that it did not fit in me. "If they had, I wouldn't be here!" In this hell! Damn. What hate!
I would sue that airline! I would screw them up so badly that even the best lawyer in the world couldn't get them out of what they had to pay me. It wasn't even for the money but for the moral damages.
To make matters worse, I was starving and from what I had seen yesterday, that restaurant next door didn't have anything I could eat. I sat in a chair with my head in my hands, lost. What was I going to do now? I started to cry like a child that has lost its mother, because that's how I felt. That's how I was.
Away from my family, unable to reach them since there was no phone signal, only sometimes, like the day before for example, when Jeremy kept calling at dawn and Hugh answered. I shook the iPhone in my hands once more, but there was no signal. Filth!
— Hey, today there's a promotion at the restaurant, the food will be half price. The blonde caught my attention.
"Is this the same menu as yesterday?" I asked despondently.
- No. Today there are special foods, every Wednesday is like this here. My stomach rumbled.
"I need to eat..." I said softly in a saddened voice.
I walked towards the back where the restaurant was, soon I saw several people eating, it seemed that everyone was from the same family there, everyone was blond or red, they looked a lot like Vikings, only modern. I walked towards the food watching for a few seconds and again there was nothing that fit in my meals.
Didn't they make salad there?
I walked over to an employee who was writing down some things on a pad of paper.
- Hello good afternoon. You don't serve salad here? I asked the boy who opened a huge smile for me.
— No, I'm sorry but we don't serve salads here. I gave a weak smile and went back to the lodging.
I refused to eat fats again, yesterday Hugh had already forced me to eat mashed potatoes. But it was good, it was really good, that man's spice is delicious.
- Hey! — I called the girl at the reception — Is there a supermarket here?
— Do you see that square over there? — she showed me and I nodded — Turn to your right and you'll reach a tent.
- Thanks. - thank you .
I put my bags inside and asked her to keep an eye on me while I looked for that tent. On the way I heard a familiar voice, I looked to the side and saw a huge wooden shed with several shirtless men and others with very dirty shirts chopping wood. Men fit, strong, with veins bulging in tanned skin.
But in the middle, talking to a gentleman, there was the most beautiful of them all. Hugh Mikhail. I know I shouldn't, but I started walking towards him, quickly I could hear whispers from the men who were there, making him notice me.
Hugh looked over at me and frowned when he saw me.
"What happened, princess?" — approached me, my crazy heart started beating faster.
" They left me behind ." — my eyes watered like a crying baby — And there are no salads here. he chuckled .
His laugh showed both how handsome he was and how much of an asshole he was.
"Are you making fun of me?" I growled irritably.
“Welcome to real life, ma'am.
“Is real life being left behind on your plane ride when all you wanted was to go back to your home, your real home after suffering the devil's bread in another country, away from all your family? I asked him incredulously turning my back to leave.
Perhaps he felt sorry for me, as I felt his hand grip my arm, causing different energies in me.
“I'm about to get off work right now. Would you like to have lunch with me? His question took me by surprise.
- Where?
- At home. I make a salad for you to eat.
- What did you say?
"That I'll make you a salad to eat." I took a deep breath.
I was so hungry that even things I was hearing. I ignored my impure mind and smiled through my tears at his kindness. Could it be my PMS coming on?
Ah, Hugh Mikhail... How could you be ogre, arrogant, handsome, hot and gentleman in the same man? Until then I thought he was one of the only good things about the place.
True to his word, we walked ten minutes back to his house in silence. Hours later, I received my finished dish in my hands, in it were green leaves, small tomatoes, broccoli - which I love - and carrots.
- Wow. Thanks. You have many qualities, appearances are really deceiving. I thanked him and he smiled, a mischievous smile as always.
- I know. - he said all convinced and looked at me. When I felt like we were looking at each other too much, I looked away with a flushed face.
So, I started eating my food which was delicious by the way, and thinking if everything he made was delicious like him, because at least the food was. After that I offered to do the dishes again, I don't think I've ever done so many dishes in my life. I noticed that after the different look from a few minutes ago, he stopped talking to me, it looked like something bothered him.
“I thank you for everything, Hugh. Really, thank you very much. I don't want to bother you anymore, I'm going to accommodation, my bags are alone at the reception.
— I'm going back to work, I'll accompany you on the way. He spoke with a serious tone, different from before.
And it bothered me like hell, did I do or say something that upset him? Minutes ago he was all abused and now he was frowning. Still dare to say that women are difficult to understand.
- Everything is fine? I asked as we walked after he closed the door.
- Clear. Why wouldn't I be? He forced a smile.
On the way back, I noticed his intention to keep his distance from me even physically on the street. Out of the blue! I tried a few times to bring up the subject but everyone was cut by him.
"See you later, Hugh." I said giving a wave of my hand, he just shook his head and turned to go to his destination.
My chest tightened strangely. Don't be pathetic Diana! And even though I tried not to be, I didn't know what was happening to me, I would only find out later, on the day of the biggest disappointment of my life.
