##Chapter 6
Diana Markovic

I entered the accommodation but I didn't see the girl at the reception, but my bags were exactly as I left them and that was what mattered. I took them and started to try an impossible mission that was to get them up the narrow stairs of the place. After several attempts I let out a small cry of defeat.
- Need help? I heard Hugh's voice behind me. I felt an instant urge to smile but soon tried to compose myself.
He must have seen my fight from afar, as the doors to the guesthouse were large and you could clearly see the stairs from the street.
- Yes please. I cleared my throat to get my voice out right.
Hugh didn't look at me too much, he was still serious but even so he took my two suitcases without any effort and carried them up the stairs.
"What room number?" - He asked.
- Nineteen. - replied .
- Ready. he muttered under his breath, turning to go downstairs.
- Thanks again. I smiled but he didn't seem to care.
I unlocked the door pushing it open a little. But the sight of what I saw crawling across the floor as soon as I opened it makes me scream, a high-pitched, terrified scream. A cockroach was climbing the wall and I couldn't move because I had a phobia of insects and reptiles, so much so that my heart rate even increased.
- What it was? Hugh seemed to run back when he heard me yell.
I pointed crying at the cockroach on the wall. I felt my knees weaken and my body go cold, I was terrified of it!
"Kill her, please." - I begged crying low desperate.
Hugh smirked at me, walked over to the cockroach and killed it with a towel that was folded on top of the bed.
"Satisfied, madam?"
— You think it's fresh, don't you? Everyone thinks. But no one knows how anyone with a phobia feels in situations like this.
“Fuck you, princess. I already killed, now you can enter. His words gave me shivers of fear.
“I can't go in there. There may be others. What am I going to do? Where will I sleep? — I questioned still in panic and then I saw a light at the end of the tunnel — Hugh, in your house there are no cockroaches ... — My suggestive tone of voice.
“I don't think it's a good idea, Diana. He looked stunned at the idea of me sleeping over at his house again.
“It's only a week, until the day of the flight. Please, I'll pay whatever price not to sleep in a place with cockroaches or any other insect. — at that moment my phobia was greater than all my dignity.
— Come here, do you think that all you have to do is pay and everything is settled? For you, money buys everything, right? I couldn't expect less from a spoiled American girl like you. I widened my eyes helplessly and confused.

Hurt by his words I just grabbed my bags and even without holding it straight I pulled them down the stairs, going down was easier than going up. He came towards me looking like he intended to help me with them, but I jerked away from him.
Until I couldn't balance properly and the suitcases tumbled down the stairs.
- What the hell! I yelled.
I felt defeated, sad, angry, afraid, stressed and in the mood to cry. I wanted my house. Luckily the receptionist was already back.
“There's a bloody roach in room nineteen. I'm not going to sleep there or any other room here. Could you please give me an address of someone who can give me shelter for a week and who doesn't have cockroaches in the house? I exclaimed irritably.
“Of course, miss. — the always calm woman looked for a paper and handed it to me. — This is Kaik, he is usually very kind to guests. Good luck.
“You can stay at my house. - Hugh said suddenly after watching everything.
- Oh, really? — I mocked — I don't want it anymore. I said wiping a tear.
- Is crying? He approached me but I walked away.
- It doesn't matter. I already got where to stay. You'll mind your own business there and I'll mind mine from now on.” I walked over to my fallen bags and picked them up to head to Kaik's house.
“Fucking hell I'm letting you stay for a week with Kaik Mailing. You go to my house, period. he asserted .
- Who do you think you are? Do you think you can mistreat people and then act normal afterwards? I have my pride and I'm not going anywhere with you. I pulled the bags and tried to walk past him.
"I think it will." He easily pulled the bags out of my hand.
- What are you going to do? Take me on your back? Because willingly and willingly I will not go. “ Just when I thought I was winning the war, Hugh took me in his arms, throwing my body over his shoulders like I was an animal.
“Don't be for that. He started walking me outside.
My God, what a shame!
"Let go of me, you idiot!" — I hit his back hard and strong — You savage, ogre!
When the brute finally decided to leave me on the ground at the door of his house, the urge I had was to jump on him again, but to hit him. How inelegant and humiliating! All the people were looking at us and laughing like it was a circus show. It must have been very similar.
"You're a cretin!" Who do you think you are to pick me up like that and throw me on those big shoulders and drag me against my will like I'm an animal? I started to throw punches at his steel -hard chest but he held my arms with dominion and soon pulled me closer to his body.
I was unresponsive to the shiver that ran down my spine, Hugh approached my face with half-closed eyes and whispered in my ear:
“Shut up and stop acting like a freak. You'll thank me for it later. - the voice so deep and sexy.
Who could still be sexy and exciting while being rude and insulting? This caveman could only be from another planet and was clearly mentally confusing me.
- Calmed down? he asked giving my waist a squeeze.
In view of the embarrassment I went through, all I wanted now was to camouflage myself and forget about this shame.
"Get your hands off me, you asshole." I asked , pulling away from his hands.
- Excellent. Excellent. He gave a mocking smile and turned away.
- Where are you going? I asked.
“Get your bags. — he left and I stayed, blinking a thousand times trying to assimilate in my head all the madness that became my life since I arrived in this place.
While he didn't come back I sat on a step in front of his house door, took my phone in my jeans pocket and tried to communicate with my parents. Yesterday there was a signal and maybe now I could get in touch with them. I dialed the number and put the phone to my ear.
I was calling, there was still a signal! Wonder.
"Daughter, by heaven! What happened? Where are you?" My mother's voice was desperate.
"Oh mommy... You have no idea what happened." I sniffed tearfully "Because of such a storm, the plane had to make an emergency landing in a village that doesn't even have a good signal, that was yesterday and today when I woke up, the plane had left without me!"
"What do you mean they left without you?! That's absurd! Give me the airline right now and we'll sue and make them pay dearly for this." she yelled irritated soon I heard my father wanting to speak "Hi love, how are you? Daddy is worried." now i just wanted to cry for having the cutest parents in the universe.
"I'm fine daddy, don't worry. But I won't be able to leave for a week, could you send the private jet to pick me up?"
"Unfortunately Diego took him yesterday to go to England and won't be back for a fortnight. But..." I couldn't hear anything else once the call was dropped.
"Mother father?" I called in vain. No network signal chopsticks.
"Shit, shit, shit!" — I got up from the floor angry for everything that was happening to me in the last few hours.
In fact, I think the world had turned against me exactly four days ago when I suffered the disappointment I never imagined I would ever suffer. As Hugh had said the first time we met in the restaurant: I was looking defeated and maybe not just looking, but really even now.
