Alina found Alpha Killan pacing at the palace gates. That was when she realized that she had gone for five hours and yet she was expected to come back after an hour; after all, she was the one who had lied that her doctor's office was a thirty-minute drive.
"What happened?" he asked her the moment she came out of the car. Alina sobbed and jumped into his arms, her sobs turning into loud cries. Alpha Killan looked at the driver, who came out of the car limping, and that was when he checked Alina out. Her clothes were dirty, and she was bleeding because one of her legs was bruised. Killan panicked, carried her back to the house, and was shocked to see heavy blood oozing from between her legs.
"I lost our baby," she cried, tightening her hug around him.
"What happened at the hospital?" Alpha Kilan asked the driver, who had one of his legs broken.
"We went to the hospital, and Luna Alina got her treatment, but when we were coming back, two cars surrounded us, and they took us to a secluded place. They tied Luna Alina against the tree as they kicked her in the stomach. When I tried to intervene, they grabbed me by the neck, tied me against the tree, and broke my leg. I had to watch as they kicked her stomach until blood came out from between her legs. The other goons who stood at a distance watching came and examined the blood, and after they were sure it was a miscarriage, they all left after untying us." The driver narrated while sobbing.
"Have you seen whose sons of bitches were those?" Alpha Killan asked, bailing his fists until his knuckles turned white.
No, Alpha Killan, they wore masks, but I overheard their conversation." The driver said, and when he was about to say what he had heard them saying, Alina cut him off: "No, please, don't tell him. Please." She begged him.
"Why won't he? Whom are you protecting, babe?" Alpha Killan asked her.
"I am not protecting anyone, babe. She is just jealous, and she doesn't know what she is doing." She held his hands.
"She? Who is this woman? Driver, who is this woman you overheard the goons talking about? Don't you dare lie to me, or else I'll break your remaining leg." Killan said, raising his leg to step on the driver's other knee.
"Babe, please don't hurt him. He's already in pain, I'll tell you." Alina cried when Killan turned to face her. She stammered, "It's Camila. The goons she had sent must be nurses at your grandfather's hospital." She lied. On the mention of Camila's name, Alpha Killan growled in such a way that all the members at their respective homes heard his cry. All of them were in an anxious mood, thinking the pack was under attack. They took their weapons and ran to the pack.
"Camila?" He seethed in anger. "I want Camila to be brought back here. No matter what Grandpa says, no one should listen to him. I repeat, no one. She will pay for the death of my unborn child," he ordered the guards, who, led by the police convoy, drove to the hospital to take her. Alina smiled secretly at the driver, mouthing congratulations to him because their plan had worked. Everything was going according to plan. Groaning in pain because the pain was real, Killan carried her back to their room as he instructed for the pack doctor to be called.
Alina lay there and let the memories of their plan wash over her as the pack doctor administered some aesthetics to help her sleep. After the anonymous person called her, she had to hatch a plan as soon as possible. Because she had underlings everywhere, she called them and told them of their plan. It was risky, but she didn't give a sh*t as long as she got what she wanted. She asked one of them to shoot her in the leg, and under her instructions, they kicked her until blood came out. They were experts, so they could know if the blood coming out was because of miscarriage or not. After they were sure, they tied her against the tree so that she could get bruises, and to make the plan look real, they had to break her driver's leg.
She promised to send them some money after she was treated and got better. They were brothers, and they all demanded five hundred thousand dollars each. She told them she'd afford it, and that was why they agreed. Although she was in pain, she knew it would last a while, and about the baby, it wasn't Killan's, so she didn't care. The child belonged to Killan's Gamma, with whom she had lived since the day she came back to the country. In fact, he was all too aware of what she had been doing, and if it weren't for him, she couldn't have come up with that plan. Gamma Hariss told her he doesn't mind them losing their child as long as her plan succeeds and they gain something big from it.
"As for the baby, we'll make one after you get better," he had assured her. Camila, who was at the hospital reading a novel, smiled brightly, not knowing what was about to happen to her. After she was done reading the book she had in her hands, she put it aside and went out to the garden for a walk. The doctor had advised her that it would be better if she went out for a walk so that she could walk without limping or support. After walking around for a while and going back to her room, she didn't stay longer before her door was pushed open and a nurse, along with three police officers, walked in. Before she could even ask them what was going on, she was asked to hand over her phone.
Confused because her phone was snatched away the day she was accused of recording porn videos, she told them, "Sir, I don't have any phone with me; it was taken from me by Alpha Killan the day I was accused of recording porn videos to tarnish the pack's reputation."
"Well, then, we'll have to take you with us back to the pack," she was told.
"The doctor said I'll have to stay here for one more week before I get discharged, so for that, I'll advise you to speak to the doctor." Before the police officers could leave for the doctor's office, the doctor walked in, wanting to know what was going on. "My patient has no phone. Besides, no phones are allowed at the hospital, especially for critical patients like her," the doctor told them.
"What happened that a lot of police cars came looking for my phone? Who sent you?" Camila asked, looking at the cars through the window that she had parked outside the hospital.
"I am sorry, but we can't tell you. Your presence is needed at the pack right away." They said.
"And like I said, my patient won't be taken anywhere until she is completely healed. This is my office, and I won't let anyone do anything they want in here. So please, out." The doctor made it clear to them. "So please, gentlemen, before I involve security men, please get out of here."
"Alpha Killan gave his order, and he said that we should go with her whether you like it or not." One of the guards pushed him away, and because he was old and couldn't support himself, he stumbled backwards, hit the table with the back of his head, and went silent. The police, who had carried out Alpha Killan's orders to take care of him in case he refused, ignored him, thinking he was pretending, and dragged the crying Camila out of the hospital.
"Please check him out. He might die." She told them, but they were not ready to listen.
"Please, I'll go with you guys, but please go and check on Grandpa." I swear if anything happens to him, I will never forgive any of you." She warned them, and they all chuckled, pulling her out like a bag of rice. All they wanted was to please Alpha Killan by bringing the person he despises most to him, so they cared less about her threats. After all, she was no longer a Luna, and she held no power. Her father had rejected her, so no one could protect her.
"Just shut up, bitch, and let us do our work," one of the police officers said. After bundling her up in the car, the cars took off, leaving a cloud of dust behind. It was lucky that Camila's screams had attracted the other doctors working with her grandpa, and they quickly took off to the room where they immediately started taking care of him. He was badly injured and had lost so much blood since he fell on a glassy table that ripped his skin into pieces. They took him to the ICU, where they operated on him to remove the pair of glasses that had stuck on his skull and decided to watch over him for the next twenty-four hours. If he showed signs of waking up, they would transfer him to the normal ward, and if he didn't, they would conclude that he fell into a coma.
The convoy was driven at a high speed towards the palace, and when they arrived, Camila had to run out and vomit. After she cleaned her mouth, she was carried with the collars of the hospital gown she was wearing and was pushed in front of Alpha Killan, who was standing at the palace doors waiting for her with a group of elders and pack members. It was an abomination for someone to kill the heir of the pack, and now that Camila had done it, she had no chance of survival at all.
Falling on her knees, Camila coughed before she was grabbed by her hair and was forced to look up. She came face to face with Alpha Killan's dark glare, which made her spine tremble in fear. All this time he had been looking at her with anger, but neither of the days had he ever given her that murderous look.
His eyes had turned red, evident enough that the wolf had taken over, and if it were not for the three elders constant reminders asking him to control himself, he could have torn her into pieces already. "What have you done, Camila Rasort?" He asked her, tightening his grip on her hair.
"You are hurting me," she cried. Alpha Killan had gripped her hair so hard, pulling it strand by strand, that blood had oozed out and was coming in through the small opening of her mouth.
"What have you done?" He asked again through gritted teeth, as if preventing himself from losing control.
"I haven't done anything, I swear." She swore while trying to get his grip off her head, but she couldn't. He was way stronger than her.
"I am asking you for the last time: what have you done?" He asked, stressing each word.
"I haven't done anything. What's wrong with you? Aren't you satisfied with what you and your love have done to me all this time? Do you need more? Then do it! Kill me; throw me in the wolves den once again because I am so sure the news of my recovery never sat well with you." She slapped his hands away with all her might, stood on her feet, and screamed in his face.
"You little bitch! How dare you? How dare you kill my unborn baby?" He growled, gripping her neck and pulling her into the air as if she weighed nothing. "We have evidence, Camila. We somehow caught one of your goons, and we saw that it was you who had given him orders to attack my wife and kill our baby. How could you do such a thing, you murderer?" He tightened his grip around her neck. Camila stayed still, thinking that would be the way she would die. She couldn't breathe anymore, and despite tears coming out of her eyes, Killan didn't let go of her. When she closed her eyes, accepting her fate, she was dropped on the ground, and her head was hit with force, causing her to feel dizzy. After taking deep breaths, she stood again.
"I am not a murderer, Alpha Killan. You should know that it's you who have the habit of killing. You have killed your grandpa; what else do you want? My absence too. Well, if my death will take away the hate you have in your heart, then kill me!" She yelled. It went dead silent when she talked about the death of the doctor who was the founder of that pack and Alpha Killan's grandfather. Killan, who thought that she did that to confuse people, growled.
"Liar! How dare you try to change the subject? Here, what is this?" He asked, showing her the messages on her phone asking that man to kill Alina's baby.
"Isn't it ridiculous? It was you who took my phone away from me in front of these elders the day you accused me of turning into a porn star, so how come I am the one who used it? I mean, after all, my phone is unlocked, and anyone can access it. Don't you think that it's you who is supposed to be blamed, or did you finally come to the realization that your girlfriend was carrying your Gamma's child, and you decided to kill the innocent being and frame me?" She asked him, locking gazes with him to show him that she wasn't lying.
Gasps of shock filled the air as all eyes turned to Gamma Harris. Alpha Killan stared deep into her soul, and when Camila never wavered or tried to avoid his gaze, he seethed in anger.
"I won't hear a word against her! How dare you accuse your Luna of adultery?" He growled so loudly that it caused the elders to step backward.
"I will say more words, but not against her because it's true. She wasn't carrying your baby, but your Gamma's!" She screamed with all her might, but she immediately regretted saying that.
