Thirty Two
"You what? I am really disappointed in you." The person spat, throwing the files to the ground. Larisa tried to rush to the person and apologize, but it was too late. The person had already walked out of her room, closing the door with a loud bang, making her shudder in fear. Sighing, Larisa closed her eyes, wondering what she should do. There was no way she could confess, so she will have to get rid of the files before that person tells her parents what she has been doing. Walking through the fireplace that was in her study, which was just across her room, she threw the files in it and watched as it turned to ashes.
"Let's see if you'll have anything to testify against me." She smirked, dusted her hands, and retreated back to her room, where she continued watching her movies as if she hadn't been caught and nothing had happened at all. When the truck driver's betrayal flashed in her memories, she walked out of the room and toward the living room. She found her parents sitting on the sofa, cuddling, and watching movies. She stood behind them, watching them with a smile on her face, and she didn't know when a tear slipped from her left eye. That was what she had always wanted in the love of her life. To love and cherish her and to spend most of his time cuddling with her and watching her favorite television shows. It was only her mother who loved the show going on the big screen on the wall, but her father still watched it with her mother even though he didn't like it.
Most of the time, her dad will sit here, playing with her mother's hair and watching her face rather than the screen. "How I wish Ash could have done this even for a single day," She murmured, wiping the tears coming out of her eyes. What she had no idea was that her parents had seen her reflection through the screen and had turned to look at her. When they saw her crying, they both ran to her, thinking that she was crying because of what had happened.
"Listen, sweetheart, every Alpha in this world had sent out his best guards, and they had begun searching, looking for Ash and that Lycan. Don't worry; we will find him. Don't forget he's a werewolf, so it's not that easy for him to die, and something else: we all know that he has a strong will to live, something I despised in Camila but like in him; he won't die that easily," her father said, rubbing her back. Larrisa's heart thumped wildly at her father's words. All she wanted was for him to die, not come back alive.
No, that's impossible!" She yelled, her eyes wide in disagreement. She had completely forgotten herself.
"Impossible. What do you mean?" Her mother asked, taking her towards the sofa they were sitting on earlier.
Larisa looked at them, biting her nails and stammering. It's impossible!" She faked a sob: "We both know it's a Lycan that has him and not a wolf or a hunter." She sobbed louder. Remembering something, she wiped her tears off and asked, "Where is Lakisha?"
"Lakisha got a call from her husband. But don't worry; she'll be back soon. She promised us." Her mother assured her, "Will you drink some juice?" She then asked while digging her fingers in her hair to strengthen her tangled strands.
"Yes, mother." She smiled, kissing her mother's cheek. Her father's phone rang, and he excused himself, saying there was an emergency he needed to take care of. After Larisa was done with her juice, her mother was already dosing on the sofa beside her, and she walked out of there after tucking her in with a blanket. She went straight to the jail behind their mansion, where her father normally locks up the pack's culprits.
"Well, well, well. Who do we have here?" She smirked, looking at the truck driver sleeping on the ground.
"Miss Larissa, just take me out of here. My daughter is waiting for me," he pleaded.
"Let you out?" She scoffed, and with both hands crossed on her breast area, she said, "You dared go against me, and you thought I would just let you be. Never!" She spat, grinning at the servants who passed by, cleaning the cells.
"I knew you would do this. Even if I couldn't have gone back to save Ash, you could have still haunted me and killed me, thinking that I'll one day expose your secrets," the driver scoffed, and then stood. "Let me tell you, Larisa," he started. My wife knew all along what I was about to do. Luckily, I had recorded my conversation with you and left it at home with her. I gave her some instructions." He grinned at her. "If the night ascends without me arriving home, she should release the recording. So don't worry, Larissa, because my downfall is also your downfall."
"You..!" Larrisa stretched her index finger to point it at him, but she bailed her fists instead. "Don't think you have won this game because it has just started, and let me tell you something." She growled at him, her eyes shining with anger: I'll kill you anytime I want to, and you won't do anything." She gritted her teeth together.
"Come on! Do kill me then!" The driver dared her: "Why are you standing out there? Take the keys from the keykeeper and get in here first! Come in here and kill me! What are you waiting for, you murderer?" He sneered, jumping up and down in the cell to piss her off. Alpha Cameroon came from nowhere and stood behind his daughter.
"Do you want to torture him?" He asked something that startled her because she didn't expect him to be there. After all, when she left him in the living room, he said there was an emergency he needed to take care of.
"How long have you been standing here, dad?" She asked instead, praying inwardly that he didn't overhear their conversation, or else she would be forced to do something terrible to him as well.
"Just now? Why?" Alpha Camerron asked, scrunching his brows in confusion. He had been watching Larrisa closely for almost a month now, and he couldn't understand why she always acted suspicious. She couldn't stop saying that she feels like someone is watching her even when she is in her room.
'Un, nothing, dad." She faked a smile and said, "And to answer your question, I don't think it's necessary, father." She swallowed the lump in her throat. She couldn't believe she was giving in to someone like that truck driver. Somebody who, without her, nothing would run properly in his household
"But why? I mean, whatever you are saying is contrary to what your eyes reflect. You are looking at him as if you'll rip him into pieces when you have a chance, and that's why I am giving it to you." Her dad smirked.
"I said I don't think it's necessary!" She yelled at her dad.
Alpha Cameroon looked at her for a while and then lifted his hands in surrender, saying, "It's okay. It's not necessary." Upon saying that, he spun around and went back to the house after watching the truck driver for a while, who was smirking at Larisa with mischief in his eyes. He stopped for a while and looked back at Larisa once again. Her eyes were red with fury. She was exactly like him, and he knew what she wanted to do at that minute, but she was controlling herself, maybe because the guy knew something or because she was just afraid, but that didn't hide the fact that she wanted to wash herself with his blood.
Walking closer to her, he pressed his hands on her shoulders with a piece of advice: "My dear, you need to know that to kill a monster, you first need to turn into one. Just take your time," he said, kissing her hair. "There is definitely something going on between them." He thought, shaking his head to get rid of the thoughts creeping in there, "I just hope it's not what I am thinking."
"Poor daddy!" The guard smirked when Alpha Cameroon disappeared behind the doors. "To kill a monster, you need to turn into one." He mimicked her father and then laughed. "Doesn't he know that you are already a monster? And not just a monster but a ruler of monsters?" he chuckled, shaking his head. The truck driver looked at Larisa from her head to her toes and then smacked his lips together. "What a nice body shape you got there. I never noticed, you know." He winked. When Larrisa turned to go, the truck driver called her back. "Get in here and satisfy me, or else you'll know what I'll do." He threatened.
"In your dreams!" Larrisa spat, spinning on her heels.
The truck driver looked at her swaying hips, and she left from there. He smirked, licking his lips, and said, "In my dreams, huh? We'll see about that." He then opened the lock with the key given to him by Larrisa and walked out of there, whistling in happiness.
In her room, Larrissa sat on her bed, fuming with anger. "I satisfy him, me? A dirty person like him, never! I'll definitely make sure that he regrets looking at me that way." She swore, walking towards the room to take a bath. Just by the truck driver's gaze, she felt like she was already dirty.
On the other side of the city, Alpha Killan was sitting in his office, lost in thought. His beta, Luna, and the elders of the pack were also there with him, all digesting what they had heard. "You are saying that a goon came in here, kidnapped you, and forced you to tell them where the money was?" He asked, his voice deep and cold.
'Yes, baby. I couldn't sleep, so I went out there to take a nap under the sky, but that was the last thing I expected." She sobbed, biting her bottom lip. Before Alpha Kilan could say anything, a guard came in with a young girl of about sixteen. "Alpha Killan, while tracing the goon's scent like you had said, we found this girl hiding behind the trees. "This bag was beside me, but it has nothing." The guard said this while emptying the things in it onto the ground. It was only clothes. Nothing else.
Alpha Killam looked at the girl and asked her calmly, "Were you the one who ran out of here?"
"Yes, Alpha. But I am not the one who stole. I just followed Luna Alina's orders." She said.
"Luna Alina?" One of the elders asked her in shock, "If I ask you to identify the person you are referring to as Luna Alina in here, will you be able to do so?" The elder asked and signaled to Alina to shut up, who was already standing and insisting that the girl was lying.
"Yes sir. I can." The girl bowed slightly.
Now, girl, I want you to go around, and when you see the person you are referring to as Luna Alina, just point at her or him." The elder asked the girl, who nodded in agreement. "Before she does that, please, elders and everyone present in here, no one should think that it's our able Luna who has done that because she, as the first lady of this pack, knows the importance of the secret bank and how badly we need it at this time when we are on the verge of losses. Someone in here must have used her identity to fool this kid because, if it were really her, she couldn't have risked her life and gone after this little goon. I mean, we can all see the wounds on her body, and that should say enough." The elder said this, and the other elders nodded in agreement.
"Now, kid, go round and show us the fake Luna Alina," The elder ordered her.
Moving around, the girl walked, looking carefully at everyone. When she was done with everyone, she took another round and stopped in front of Alina, who was glaring at her and harshly mouthing some words. "Sir, this is Luna Alina." She bowed and walked back to her spot.
"Are you sure?" The elder asked, shock written all over his face.
"Yes sir. She is the one who asked me to cut that fence, and then that big guy," she said, pointing towards Beta Harris, "asked Luna Alina to wait for him at the garden, where he faked to kidnap her, beat her up, and they both stole from the underground bank. After they were done, I was asked to run with the fake bag, and Alina was to chase after me while this guy remained with the bag full of money." She narrated.
"And did they give you some?" The elder asked.
"No, she lied to me even though I told her that my mom was sick and I wanted the money. Out in the forest, she got me clothes, and she said if I sold them, I'd get more than I needed. When I decided she was a liar, I didn't cover my scent to avoid being caught like she had asked me to; I decided to sit there and wait for the guard to come and catch me so that I would be able to see her again." Looking back at the trembling Alina, the girl knelt on the ground and said, "Please, Luna Alian, I need the money or else my mother will die. The clothes you gave me are worn and won't give me enough money to buy medicine." She cried. When Alina refused to face her, she continued, I did all that you asked me, Luna Alina; why don't you give me my share? Fine," she wiped her tears, standing on her feet. I forgot one last part. I'll say, and you'll give me my share, right?" She asked.
"Alpha Killan and my dear elder's, "she bowed. "This is the last part I forgot. Luna Alina said if I say all this and you all start looking at her with anger, just like you are all doing right now, I should say this. It is Camila who paid me to say all this." She sniffed. Closing the gap between her and Alina, the girl returned a watch made of pure gold to her, saying, I can't sell this because I don't know where to sell it to. Just give me my money because I have done my part."
