Chapter Fifteen

"I'm sure you were," Dimitri said to her before he turned back to Raymond. "I'm sorry, but there is nothing you can say that will make me change my mind about this. The plan is already in motion. I'm going to get that loan from the bank and buy the company. Majority of the shareholders agree with me. Darcy Enterprises is going down and that's something you are going to have to come to terms with for you own good and for your own peace of mind"

Raymond Darcy's hands balled into fists and his voice became dangerously quiet. "Fine" he said thickly, his lips drawn in tightly, then he gave a smile that didn't reach his eyes, "Go ahead, Dimitri, but watch your back. I swear, I'm going to tear you apart"

Dimitri smirked and leaned closer, accepting the challenge, "And like I said before, Raymond Darcy, I'm looking forward to it"

Raymond Darcy marched angrily out of the conference room, and knowing her father, Kelly knew it would be useless to follow him. Dimitri followed immediately, and Kelly fumed. If he thought this discussion was over then he was sadly mistaken.

So she followed him.

Kelly tried to slam the door close when she entered Dimitri's office, but it was air tight and wouldn't bang shut, instead it just closed softly. It made her even angrier, and Dimitri had to try very hard not to laugh at the expression on her face

He said nothing and gestured an arm towards a chair, but she refused to sit, as if she thought she would look more intimidating if she was looking down at him. He sat on the chair she had refused and looked up at her, waiting for her to speak.

He didn't have to wait for long.

"What the hell is your problem?" she asked, glaring at him, and standing arms akimbo in front of him. All Dimitri could think of was the effect the movement caused on her chest. A little gold cross on her necklace spun on its chain as she leaned forward, and when she straightened, it settled in the shadow of her cleavage. It was driving him crazy. She was so hot, he thought, then shook his head and returned his attention to her pretty, angry face.

He stood too, and stuffed his hands in his pockets, "Well, hello, it's very nice to see you again, gorgeous" he said sarcastically in his deep, baritone voice, sending chills down her spine. She had to admit to herself that she loved his voice. She found his smooth, melodious tones both exotic and seductive.

Kelly struggled to look unaffected by it. Determined to behave as if his presence in the company meant nothing more than an unwarranted disturbance. "Excuse me?" she said, and raised her eyebrow.

"I honestly thought that I wouldn't see you again" he continued, like she hadn't spoken, "And I gotta tell you, you have no idea how glad I am to meet you again....I love the glasses too by the way"

Kelly decided to ignore that and go straight to the point. Having sex with him and then meeting him here was bad enough, she wasn't going to worsen the situation by talking about it. And his little compliment about her glasses shouldn't have made her heart flutter but it did. She hated that. She jutted her chin up and hoped she looked tough and intimidating enough.

"What are you doing here, Mr Collins?" she asked, "And why the hell are you after my father's company?"

With an economy of movement that was so much a part of the man, he stepped closer and panic shot through her, his hands still shoved in his pockets. "Mr Collins?" he asked, and lifted an eyebrow, "You are really going to keep calling me that? I can understand that you probably put up the act for the benefit of your father, but we are alone now... There's no need for that"

This damn attraction.

It was the reason why she had made such a total fool of herself. She had been blinded by the physical attraction so powerful and shattering that it transcended her common sense.

For a moment she stood, frozen into stillness by the strength of his presence. There was something intensely sexual about him. Something raw and untamed. Something primitively male. She had sensed it from the first moment she met him and now she was feeling it again as she stood, trapped by her own uncontrollable response to him. She felt her nipples harden and thrust against her bra and something dark and dangerous uncurled low in her stomach and spread through her body. Bad nipples, she thought.

Her throat dried and her fingers tightened around her bag, although why, she had no idea. The man was hardly likely to be planning to steal her possessions. He loomed over her, and Kelly breathed in that amazing scent of him.

But she wasn't going to let him push her around. This was her turf, and she called the shots here.

"Please answer the question,.... Mr Collins" she repeated, placing emphasis on his name, and she was proud of herself for keeping her voice steady. For behaving with restraint.

She switched position, taking the opportunity to move slightly away from him, so she was now standing with her hands folded around her body, her right feet was pushed forward and the posture made her hips jut out. Hot indeed, he thought, and grinned.

Kelly frowned. He looked spectacular in that suit, she thought absently. As spectacular as he did that night, and she envied the ease and confidence in which he moved. He still wouldn't answer her question, instead he said,

"Wow, look at you... Defending and fighting for daddy's company like a good little girl. Let me ask you, sugar, because I'm honestly curious. Does your dad know about your extra curricular activities?" he asked and grinned when she looked away. "I know him well enough to know that he wouldn't approve of your... Dancing.... Not that I'm complaining though.... I would honestly love to watch you dance again... And maybe this next time, it will be a special, private show just for me "

"Then you are going to be waiting for the rest of your life, Mr Collins, because that is not going to happen " Kelly retorted, then she added hastily, "And you better don't mention a word about it to my father or I swear I'm going to kill you"
