Chapter 13: Jealousy!

"The show's about to start, aren't you going to perform? Why are you sitting here packing up?" Roxana spoke in a sweet voice, as if she really didn't know why Regina was hesitating.

This is not the first time Roxana has seen her sister leave because of the sudden cancellation of the show. Compared to Roxana who is famous as a singer with many fans, Regina is just an unknown singer. Regina is someone who gets bullied easily, and what's more funny is that she never resists. That excited Roxana.

The bullying incidents that Regina attributed to her bad luck were actually caused by Roxana.

Roxana always thought that Regina didn't deserve to stay at Lynne's house, because Regina's mother had passed away, but Regina was still living at their house. Moreover, Regina grew up to be more beautiful. Since childhood, Roxana had heard from relatives that Regina had an outstandingly beautiful appearance, and a meek and gentle personality. Meanwhile, she was clearly the beloved child of her parents and was not as highly regarded as Regina.

"Roxana is cute too, but she's barely as good as her sister."

"Regina inherited her mother's beauty, if her mother were still alive, her life would be very bright."

"The Lynne family is so lucky to have two beautiful daughters, especially Regina."

Roxana's entire childhood, she heard such comparisons. Many people criticize her because her mother is only the second wife of the Lynne family, and Roxana herself has never surpassed Regina's image.

When she learned that Regina was passionate about becoming a singer, Roxana also insisted on asking her parents to let her be a singer. And of course, with the love and pampering of her parents, Roxana easily got what Regina craved. The feeling of accomplishment and success made Roxana insanely happy.

That was Roxana's thinking. Roxana stood proudly, crossed her arms and looked down at Regina who was quietly packing her things, Roxana felt like a queen and Regina was just a lowly woman.

"Hey, I asked you, but you didn't answer? Since when did you learn to be so silent that makes people uncomfortable?" Roxana kicked Regina's skirt with her pointed toe heels, her voice sharp.

Regina watched as her dress, which Myrna had saved up for months to buy for her performance, was now dirty, her patience finally reaching its limit. Although compared to Roxana's expensive designer dress, the price of her dress was less than half, but to her it was still extremely precious.

Regina slowly stood up, brushed the dirt off her dress, then stared at Roxana with cold eyes. In that moment, when faced with Regina's gaze, Roxana somehow felt goosebumps all over her body.

"Roxana, we're all grown up. You're 21 and I'm 24. We're not kids playing bullies anymore. Don't think I don't know you're doing all this on purpose to harm me. You can stop now."

Regina is not an idiot, she fully understands Roxana's character and of course also knows that in the past four years she could not become a famous singer because Roxana secretly harmed her. Roxana was always proud of her intelligence, and could not hide her jealousy towards Regina. Regina knows it all, but she chooses to ignore it because she thinks that at least she and Roxana are still family.

But now things are going too far.

At first, it was just sneaky stealing her toys, but gradually, over time, Roxana's bullying became more and more outrageous. The culmination was that today, Roxana deliberately informed the director to cancel Regina's performance so that she could take Regina's place. Obviously, with Roxana's reputation, she didn't care about such a small show, but because Regina worked so hard to perform here, Roxana deliberately took the opportunity from Regina. Whatever Regina wants, Roxana will want it too, or will destroy it.

"Stop? Stop daydreaming. Let me tell you, you know why I told the director to cancel your show? Because I want you to see that the things you work so hard for, I just need to say one word to destroy them."

Regina's palm clenched slightly, her lips pursed slightly, her eyes shining with anger. But then, without knowing what to think, Regina slowly relaxed her hand and let out a breath.

Regina stopped talking to Roxana and left with her bag. But as soon as she touched the doorknob, Roxana's sharp, teasing voice rang out.

"Regina, you've always been proud of being a singer, aren't you? Today I still lack a position as Soprano's soprano, if you don't mind, you can join."

Singing is truly Regina's pride, she is happy to bring her voice to the audience and is satisfied with showing off her vocal processing skills. However, Roxana did not hesitate to trample on Regina's pride by offering Regina to be her backing vocalist.

"What? I'm giving you a chance to sing. Or do you hate being my backing vocalist?" Roxana said in a defiant voice.

Regina's whole body trembled slightly, the anger in her heart had never been as great as now. It seemed that Myrna had been waiting outside for too long, so she knocked on the door and called Regina to leave.

Regina had so many thoughts swirling around in her head right now, she ended up doing something that she couldn't even imagine herself. She dropped her bag on the ground, looked back at Roxana, nodded and smiled.

"Okay, I'll join."

"And here's the song you've been waiting for... Let's welcome Roxana Lynne with her song 'Love and touch'."

Roxana stepped out to stand in the center of the stage, the bright lights all shining on her. Roxana's beauty is like a noble and graceful lady, she just needs a small smile to make the crowd cheer. Everyone called Roxana's name with great love.

"It's unbelievable, I only spent a few hundred dollars to see Roxana Lynne perform. Her appearance was such a surprise."

"I've been a fan of Roxana since she debuted. Her voice is sweet and her songs are catchy too."

"This is the luckiest day of my life. I have to thank God for letting Roxana perform her new song instead of some unknown female singer."

Everyone was excited and welcoming Roxana, as soon as she appeared, she received the warmest admiration.

Regina stood in the corner of the stage, far away from Roxana's position. Standing on the same stage, Regina could clearly feel the difference between her and Roxana. Regina understood the fact that all her efforts during the past four years in the career of a singer could not be compared to a glorious and shining hour of Roxana on stage.

However, that did not discourage Regina.

She herself chose to sing the backing vocals for Roxana, then she will do her job well. As long as she could sing, no matter what method, Regina was content.
